from a recent trip. Think Ill be printing this one that I took.

A self made man is always something to respect, particularly if he tries to avoid the fallacy of arrogance.
I would encourage deactivation.

I understand about working on real life relationships. There was a time when I too was unsure if I would return. I felt that lush detracted from my relationship. It felt the best thing for me to do was to leave. If you choose the deactivate option, there still is no reason that you must return, but your poems remain.

you can refer to a movie, you simply can't use the characters or the setting, if it's iconic. for instance, you could have your characters talking about seeing the Movie, Star Wars, but you can't use Han Solo as a character or put them aboard the USS Enterprise (that's a Star Wars ship, i mean yacht, right?)

I know, I'm there now. I've been doing it all for several years now and the frustration levels get to the bursting point. I understand that none of it's her fault but answering the same question over and over or having to do ALL of the "Thinking" and care builds strain to unbelievable levels at times. I'm looking for a men's group to just talk about it and I am seeking help but it's very difficult in our society.

She'll have to be in a home soon and that will go a long way in destroying me. I mostly worry about it killing what little is left of her and then I'm not sure I want to go on. I will not lay there beside her and watch her die completely, either mentally - where she is mostly now - or physically and that will cause her pain. I am working on not letting that happen and I'm talking to someone who helps me because she cares. I haven't had the privilege of meeting her yet but that will happen some day.

Writing about it helps some but nothing can fix it really. I can not just throw away 43 years of life with her so learning to live with it is my only answer. I am not looking for anyone to feel sorry for me, just understanding and a place to vent and talk. Three of my stories are about finding that.

Thanks for this thread.

It's a hard thing to watch a loved one change, and I have a lot of respect for your taking care of her. Do you get in home help? There are a lot of resources available. Additionally, when she does go into a home, it doesn't have to be a death sentence. Most people who work in Ltc love their residents. I've cried with families and attended funerals (I no longer work Ltc, but I used to). I've also had patients whose spouses were still very much a part of their daily lives, even if they could no longer do the actual physical work.

I use these and matching shoes: http://www.cellbikes.com.au/PD-5700-SPD-SL-PEDALS-CARBON_2?sc=33&category=12796

They take a while getting used to, and I nearly fell off trying to get my feet out of them the first few times, but they are really good once you get the hang of it. Just remember to kick your heels sideways way before you think you need to!

I have the pedals already on my bike, just need to go to the local bike shop for shoes in my size. I've been a chicken. They told me when I bought the bike I would want the shoes, but I wanted to wait until I felt comfortable on the bike before I got them.

That's great!

I picked up a road bike 3-4 months ago, and try to do at least 30km+ per week on it in the park. I have dropped 3-4 kg, and my cardio has improved markedly. It's a good way to shed liver lard apparently...which is essential, when you need to process large amounts of wine (comes with the territory when running a website such as this!).

I love my road bike! I bought it about 2 months ago and find that it's really helped my running. I had a lot of knee problems the past year that kept me from training effectively. By incorporating the biking into my schedule instead of always running, it lets my knee heal while still keeping my cardio up. I try to bike 4 d/wk, hitting the group ride on Mondays. Then I can run on my work days without the pain I was having before. I just need to get shoes for my clipless pedals. I've been afraid to use them as I wasn't a very good bike rider before. I seem to have gotten better, cornering is no problem now after learning to on a motorcycle!

That's ridiculous. Semen has no healing or soothing properties...at least not in any medical way. Use aloe.

This is not entirely accurate. Semen contains both zinc and vit c. But both of those work best when consumed and in quantities.

Personally, I've always found vinegar to be much more effective than aloe.

Hi, Nic. Sounds exciting and very different! I'm already thinking of ideas...

Just wanted to clarify....does the story need to be submitted to the Supernatural Category? Can it be in another category, but have a supernatural slant? Is Fantasy and Sci Fi included?

And sorry, one more thing... it feels like "points of reference" listed in the announcement are mixing touchpoints of Supernatural with the Fantasy & Sci Fi. Ghosts, Vampires, Werewolves are Supernatural.. the alternate planes of existence and creatures of cultural mythology.

Robots, Alternate Universes, Aliens, are more akin to the Fantasy and Sci-Fi category.
IMHO

Fantasy and sci fi are included.

I would imagine like all other contests that they could be in other categories, but remember that adherence to the theme does play into the judging.
I've been with guys with almost no balls (really and truly. They never developed properly) and some with pretty massive ones. The biggest difference I can tell you is the guy with miniscule balls was very tender, didn't ever want them touched or even breathed on. The guy with the bigger balls really enjoyed having them licked, sucked, stroked, ect.

My ex husband had one of his removed due to testicular cancer. Never had a difference in the quantity or even taste of his cum. Most of what is ejaculated does not start in the testicles. So the balls themselves don't correlate to quantity. Just like large vs small breasts don't effect milk production.

That's just the way I am. It is an absolute bitch at times though. The frustration levels build very high if I'm not careful. Absolutely none of this is her fault, I know that, but it's hard to not get angry sometimes and I beat myself up a lot when I do. I never yell at her or show anything but care and love.

She will have to go into a care facility soon because I'm getting to where I can't do it all any more.

Take care of yourself. Caretaker strain is a very real thing!

And yet, nobody cares because he's hawt. I mean... look at all of that yummy manflesh!

I'm looking. Yum indeed!

I'm only offended if, after they'd asked me a first (or even second) time to do something and I've said I'm not into it, they persist.

I get it! I'm a 38DD and it hurts if you don't have a decent bra. Ones that don't support and let you bounce, ones that pinch and leave you in pain. It's hard to get a good run in when you are thinking about the pain of either bouncing all over or a poor fit.

All of those things are great in general. They're especially great for things like body cleansing (detox water, juicing, liquid diets, etc.) and even healthy skin regimens.

Re skin, I always travel with raw/organic honey because my skin's the first thing to react to a change in location/environment. And honey is such a good microbial that it combats a lot of those environmental things that attack my skin, so I use it on its own as a quick scrub. Great stuff.

We use honey on our wounds here in the hospital. It works great!

Well I was going to leave this topic alone since my first post in it pissed enough people off, and I know all of them are going to disagree, but I guess I should clarify what I meant. I don't think there's any outright conspiracy or purposeful backscratching that happens in the process, I just think it's very subject to bias. I'm assuming the story verifier knows who the author is when they read the submission, since no one has stated otherwise. So when a mod comes across a submission by someone whose work they've enjoyed before, their eyes perk up and they expect to see high quality writing. And the reverse can happen with submissions from new members on the site, especially if the mod is tired from reading a few bad submissions and their eyes are glazed over. It's the placebo effect in the form of judging writing. If you think this is entirely impossible, then you should read a little bit of psychology.

Of course, a submission has to be above a certain threshold of quality to get the RR, but the threshold seems lower for the well-known members who've already gotten some accolades. Yes, maybe their earned their attention with good writing, but it's not as important for them to replicate the same level of quality to get the RR again.

Like I said, this is just my opinion. I don't particularly spend a lot of time scrutinizing recommended reads or caring who gets them, so maybe I'm totally uninformed. It's also possible that some mods have a bias against well-known members on the site because they're afraid of hearing the sort of criticism above. It doesn't really need to be a refined system if no one's making money off it. And, of course, I appreciate the mods for spending their time reading through the slush pile of Lush. From now on we should call it the Lush Slush.

**first of all a disclaimer, I am no longer a story mod**

well, yes. when you do write to a certain standard, you get that reputation not only amongst mods, but amongst the general readership as well. The Frank Lee's, Dancing Doll's, jaymal's, and Sprite's (just to name a few) are of such a standard that before you click you know that they are going to be polished, well crafted works. But this doesn't mean that new writers are not also awarded accolades. I remember seeing the very first story from Alexander_A (she has since removed it) It stood out to me as a wonderful piece, original, and polished. I then awarded it an RR. I didn't know her or her writing at the time. But I knew good writing. Possibly has mentioned that her first piece was awarded an RR. The same thing happened with several other writers.

The biggest flaw I have seen with new writers that holds them back is that their work tends to lack polish. If I saw a piece that has to be returned, and then returned again, and again for corrections, it would be unlikely that the piece would be awarded an RR, no matter how good the content was.An RR should be a top piece with little to no corrections being needed. Many pieces here are returned multiple times before they are published. (this also leads to multiple mods reading it, for OMKN) Of course the general readership cannot tell how much revision was needed.

I can tell you I had been a story mod for quite some time before I ever received an RR. And it took years of writing to achieve an EP. I dont automatically receive RR's, and neither does anyone else. Look those authors I named above. They are some of the best of the site, award winners all. Yet, none of them has awards for every story.
No, in general not. It's rude and disrespectful. Mind you, I mostly wear v necks and keyholes necklines. I don't need to flash more.

At the time that I received the RR, I had exactly zero mods on my friend list, had posted very little on the forums and had not commented on or scored any story. I believe I now have two mods on my friend list, both of whom sent FR's to me. I still have not commented on or scored any story. As far as making myself "look popular"...not even sure how one would go about accomplishing that feat.

Note my previous post smile good writing attracts!
