There's a distressingly large number of very sober bar regulars here! For someone raised on pub lunches it induces a form of culture shock!
Also isn't the comp deadline Oct.11, Sir Landlord Rump? Which is surely more than two weeks away. It's going to take me almost two weeks to decide whether to write up my idea!

Good morning I'll get Bertha up and running before the crowd comes in. I'll have some hot tea. Today is laundry day so I'll be quite busy. Why do I have ideas for a story but when I sit down to write my mind goes blank? Ugh. At this rate I'll have a comp entry next September.

Hello beautiful peopleWhat can I say, I visit this thread daily, I read, I cry, I type a reply, I cancel the reply and leave without posting. I want to hold you, giving you a big hug, offer some tea, sit and just be. Such beautiful souls, my cup is overflowing, my heart sings with joy. The courage an individual has to share a chapter of his/her life, it is not an easy task. If you could see what I see, when reading your sharings, amazing people with big hearts, a kaleidoscope of colors so delicious, I want to gobble you up. The encouragement and support being poured into this thread is so humbling. Thank you everybody ..past, present and future!! Thank you Sprite for this platform!! Ok shuddup E ?? Bring it in group hug

Hello everyone! I am not a coffee drinker and it's a bit early for the hard stuff. I'll take a lemonade, please, with my usual number of cocktail umbrellas (1-5).
Going to spend another day cooking and baking. It makes everyone happy. So far we've made French bread, crusty rolls to be used as soup bowls later, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate mousse, and coconut cream pie.
Cabbage roll casserole. sausage/beef lasagna, broccoli cheddar soup and breakfast crepes with berries and fresh whipped cream.
Today we are making a marinade for steak fajitas and flank steak to be grilled in a few days. We are going to attempt making bagels too.
I won't be running out of food anytime soon. Luckily I prepare meals for my parents so it all won't stay here. I don't need all those calories.
Have a great weekend!
Cheers Everyone!

A beer would slide down nicely right now ... Guinness draft, smooth, dark, and rich... with a Jameson chaser. Cheers!
It's been a good weekend to date as my team (Man United) won again. Saturday mornings are English Premier League binge watching time. Need the drinks to recover from the excitement and stress. Line me up a second Guinness, barkeep, like a true scholar and gentleman!

Evening all, not sure if the esteemed patrons of this fine establishment have noticed the above creative art contest, prize is a gold membership, transferable if you have one.
Mr Rump: please let me know if advertising of this nature is not permitted; I would not want to sully the reputation of your oasis of discernment. I'll edit accordingly.

Welcome to all would-be wasted wanton weekend warriors. Thanks to Curvy, blessed be her curves, Big Bertha is ready to slake the caffine needs of all who approach. That includes the Apt-unit bearing their own mug. Meanwhile, the Amazing Grace wanted orange juice but failed to mention what it should contain.
Once again, all who gather here are encouraged to make the short journey over to Stories Space to enjoy some of the recent stories.
Just a gentle reminder that the deadline for the current Lush contest is approaching, so to speak, at an ever quickening pace. For the literal minded among us, that means there are fewer days until the deadline than there were when the contest was announced...or something sorta like that.
And now the time has come to remind patrons, customers, and those who stumbled in by accident while looking for a latrine, the bar is open for business, as always. with Big Bertha's best brew along with hot water for the tea and coco crowd. For those in need of a more robust drinking experience, may I suggest our remarkable whines, bleers, and the always popular fine lickers. So whadda ya permanently blocked-type blockheads wanna drink?
