I got my haircut for the firs time since the pandemic. My hair is very easy to cut and there isn't much of it, so I would usually give a modest tip in cash.
I got my haircut at a major franchise by a female hairstylist , not a traditional (male) barber.
However, due to social distancing, I paid with a debit card. A screen lit up for a default tip of $3 on a $20 haircut.
When growing up, I don't remember dad mentioning how much he tipped the barber. The barber charged X and was paid X.
However, if my mom or sister "got their hair done" I'm sure they tipped the (female) stylist.

So I guess, from these comments, that it would be ok for male patient to ask a female patient is she were single? Even thought marital status should already be in the chart.
Three comments,
1) I have been going to the same clinic for years, my chart as far "how do contact in an emergency" hasn't changed. It seems odd to ask that during a procedure not in the normal "new patient" questions.
2) There were some semi-flirt comments about how my smile would be improved.
3) During the first once over exam, I could see a nipple (just one) through her lab coat. Positioned in the dental chair I was just a foot away.
