Wasn't quite naked, in a very short negligee, with a barn coat that just covered my bum over that, but a generator had failed at the police agency I volunteer at and so at 0200 I was over working on an electrical panel with seven troopers trying very hard not to look at me.
It wasn't funny at the time, but funny now.

#MeToo
I think most know the rough details, and I don't feel like repeating them. All I can say is that survivor's guilt is a terrible thing.
H. will hound you like a...ermm, hound? Until you enter. She does it lovingly, though.
Thank you, Nic, for this comp. My scars (two, if you're counting) are well hidden but that's because a) I was lucky and my BRCA (DCIS) was caught early both times and b) I have good doctors. Not all women are as fortunate.
Warmest congratulations to our winners and runners-up, and thank you to all who entered. Marvelous job all the way around!
I'd be worried, from a purely medical perspective, about tissue damage due to restricted blood flow. I don't know or have any personal experience with how well they work, performance-wise, but I'd tell any partner to stay clear of them.
1) No. The girls demand support.
2) No. Sleeping in a bra is uncomfortable and can actually interfere with your sleep (seriously--there are studies on this).
3) My naked breasts? Nah, fam.**
**H.! Get out of my head!
Barkeep, set me up with a Hannah, please. Saw my orthopaedic surgeon today about some problems--alternating numbness and rather ridiculously excruciating pain--with my right hand and thumb. One steroid injection and a lot of Vicoprofen later, I'm scheduled for surgery in two weeks' time. Well, waiting on the exact date, I'll know that tomorrow, but I'm a "cut and be done" kind of a girl, not a "wait and see" sort.
Yes, Hannah, I'll finish my comp entry. I actually took that into consideration when declining surgery this week, opting instead for the second week in October.
She's going to kill me. I didn't check my and H. is coming to kill me.
FTR, I am working on my comp entry right now. Trying for a Flash. Working title is "Ten" and it's based on a very kinky (okay, for me) fantasy I've held since reading Boccacio's The Decameron as a young girl. So if my body turns up in the Thames, well, it is what it is.
I don't know. I love myself some exquisite lingerie, and love 'dressing up' for my partner. Maybe it's the tease that I enjoy?
I never think of it as a bother. Even when I'm just going out for a (rare) night with the girls, it's lace top stockings and a skirt or dress just exactly short enough to expose a bit of pale thigh and stocking tops when I cross my legs, and exactly long enough to not reveal anything more.
Not sure if it's Southern but a friend of mine (Hawai'ian, but raised most of her life in Florida) calls all her female friends "Mama". As in, "Come over here for a spell, Mama Jen". And she's a solid twenty years my senior.
Grammie was Canadian but lived in SE Missouri, always did love hauling me all through the Deep South "to see the Americans" when I was a child. I therefore know that "well, bless your heart" is not a compliment.
Dirty Martini, because I fucking love that piece, Mike. 9 December 2017.
I'd love to have plain lacquered nails, but given that in a single shift I probably wash my hands 50+ times, plus alcohol foam/gel applications, the lacquer just can't hold up to the constant abuse of the natural nail.
I've had short, gel (shellac) nails for almost two years now, and they both look good and function well. My natural nails grow really fast, so I have to have fills about every 7 days, but if your nails don't grow crazy fast, and you're not bent on keeping them as short as I keep mine (mind you, I'm not a scrub or circulating nurse anymore, so I don't have to scrub for surgery), you could probably go two weeks or more between fills.
Colours I like are all by OPI: the Hello Kitty (don't laugh!) collection ("Look At My Bow!" and "Starry-Eyed For Dear Daniel"); the classics ("Pompeii Purple" and "I'm Not Really A Waitress Red"); and my new favourite, "Madam President". All are blue-pinks or blue-reds.
Anyway. Point being, sometimes you have to give up on natural.
The ability to keep up with me, in all arenas.
Well, I've not been on the site in a bit...popped in on my birthday, I think, but that's it. When your birthday is 9/11, you now consider it a "happy birthday" if no one chooses to drive a plane into a building, or attack an embassy, or otherwise terrorise the world. So yes, I had a happy birthday.
The divine Ms. H. WhatsApped me the cutest birthday messages. Also an implied threat about the contest and me entering it (or rather, not entering it). Hand that girl a crop already, I'm sure her hands are tired from smacking lazy asses who refuse to write with the grace and style and amazing velocity she herself is capable of achieving.

*shrugging* yah, so I volunteer for FEMA SAR stuff....pro tip du jour: If you're in the aftermath of a disaster and someone tries to tie or tape a piece of black or black and white striped tape to you, you're being tagged as "dead" or "imminently dead". Not ideal.
