Sorry but it's called marriage and life. It's the risk you take when you get married. And when you get married you are never promised that everything will be a bed of roses. A lot of us have gone through divorces and we dealt with it. Almost 4 years after my divorce (by the way I didn't want it she did) I am still paying my wife alimony. And I will until she remarries. It's life. You deal with it and go on.
I agree with many of the same things matt155 and milik said as to why I enjoy it. I will only state that unlike Milik as a bisexual man I enjoy it with both sexes.

I will add like scotty that I have been with several women who were the ones who brought the subject up or asked for it. So it is not always a thing where the man is the one who wants it.

I haven't. I've been in some relationships that began as friendships, but there was always a romantic element. Maybe it's me. I can't imagine having a play partner without some sort of romance element. My heart and my penis are attached somehow.

Please, don't make me turn in my man card.
I'm going out to ride my motorcycle or start the grill now.

I used to be that way but 3 really bad endings to things in the last 10 years cured me of that. Maybe some day I will be ready to take the romantic plunge again but for now FWB works for me.
I have been in a Friends with Benefits relationship with my best friend for almost 3 years now. It has worked out great for us. We have been best friends for many years but we added the sexual side about 3 years ago.

Your two friends should consider themselves so lucky of what happened, just in case the relationship was going to move up.

If a fart and two people in the bathroom is too much certainly the relationship could not be even started.

I've told both of them basically the same thing.
