Small pieces of different cheeses.

What are you most excited about for 2024?

Good:

The vast majority of comments on stories are positive and supportive.

There are some excellent writers producing high quality stories that you can read for free

The forums hold many interesting, thought provoking questions to answer

Bad:

Occasionally, and to be fair it doesn't happen often, I get sent unsolicited dick pics.

Some excellent writing gets buried in terms of engagement by stories about fathers screwing their daughters.

I find stories that reduce Black men to sex objects serving white women distasteful, borderline racist.

(I recently did a story with both the above scenarios, but the story was a satire on story popularity on lush)

For me, the best thing is that everyone is so supportive of each other. I hardly ever see any snark or negativity in comments on anybody's stories. Other writers overwhelmingly offer each other encouraging praise.

In terms of my writing, the positive feedback on my first story was a real relief. If it had been lukewarmly or negatively received, I might have said, "Oh well, erotica isn't for me" and quit. But people were so encouraging I tried again, and now I've written more than 100 stories!

Also, my first recommended read, which is hidden because its an entry for the current competition. It had started to bug me that I didn't have one after a year. It was kind of a relief, like finally losing my virginity when I knew all my friends had done it already ;)

Not directly, as far as I know. I've never scanned amazon to check to be honest. But recently there was a story on Lush with a premise suspiciously close to my entry to one of the Lush contests.

Many times🤣 Not necessarily because I thought I should have won though, I just thought they picked a work that in my view was clearly inferior to another.

What prizes have you won in your life, for writing or anything else?

My entry for festive unexpected is my 7th one on this site, and I regularly enter competitions in other genres. I love writing competitions. They are so motivating!

Have you ever won a writing competition?

There would have to be someone enormously wealthy backing them, or a billionaire in their own right. I doubt it, but it isn't impossible.

Were you ever tempted to get into politics?

I met someone who would become the most toxic relationship I ever had.

Assuming you are not exactly wild with enthusiasm about either Biden or Trump, who do you think would make a good next president?

My husband and I had fun going as an angel/devil combo once. Probably that.

What was the most memorable Christmas of your life?

No, but I hadn't known about Stories Space until you mentioned it recently and am considering giving it a go.

Are you travelling for Christmas or staying at home?

Quote by Beffer

My poor showing in comps was one of the reasons I quit writing for Lush.

Do you have any unfinished stories that have been sitting around for years?

PS Give this one a try, Beffer, there are lots of fun entries and you might enjoy getting back into it?

Yes. Many!

Are you a gardener (Start and see what happens) or an architect (planner) when you write?

I can imagine it, but as Mr.MC1982 and I are both tied here by jobs and family it's unlikely at our time of life.

Do you think being a mod on this site, reading erotica including, I imagine, some pretty gross stuff, for hours every day, would affect you psychologically?

Christmas Eve, very unlikely as I'm spending xmas at my sister and brother-in-laws place and they have children. NYE, possibly.

If you could talk to your younger self, what would you say?

I don't know about 6 hours, but there's always a high possibility on Friday night in my household!

Absolutely. I was always very careful about not getting pregnant accidentally.

Not these days. I had a crush on a guy my sister used to date, but that was years ago.

Including yourself, how many people know that you write erotica?

1. Who are you (e.g. pen name, how you make a living etc)? My name is MC1982. I work in education.

2. If you could host a dinner party for any five people (dead or alive), who would they be?
H.G Tudor, my 2 siblings, JK Rowling and JRR Tolkien. (Mr.MC1982 lives with me so he'd be there anyway!)

3. Riskiest place you’ve done it?
A score draw between on the beach and in the car.

4. Best writing tip you’ve ever received?

Read anything you can get your hands on, across multiple genres and time periods. Read until you need bifocals.

5. Which famous author does your writing most resemble?
You'd have to ask the readers that.

6. Favourite story (and author) on Lush?
I particularly admire Sprite and WannabeWordsmith. I've read many good stories from many different people on the site, though. Sifting through Lush stories is like dating; you have to kiss a lot of frogs, but there are princes out there!

7. Any advice for new members of Lush?
If people take the time to comment positively on your story, it's appreciated if you thank them for it. Also, don't take it personally if what you think is a good story doesn't attract much attention. There are many factors in how well a story does. Sometimes it's just a question of how long it stays on the front page.

I pretty much always know if it's going to be a series or a one off when I start. But I don't always know where it's going to end up.

The best example is my most recent series. It went on way longer than I expected, but I think it's my best one.

The Fucking She Deserved | Lush Stories

1. I write every day, not only erotica, and I should pay more attention to quality and less to quantity. On rereads, my writing of sex can read as rushed and unsatisfying.

2. I think I've written satisfying stories in quite a wide variety of situations and genres. From a dying girl wanting to lose her virginity through a young woman being drawn into porn to a comic romp about the Three Wise men (linked below!). So, range.

Oh Come, Let Us Adore Him | Lush Stories My entry to the Christmas comp.

Much less so nowadays. I certainly did when I was younger and single.

Do you use social media, and have your experiences generally been positive or negative?

I agree. Mandarin would be incredibly useful.

Do you think the representatives of nations at COP28 genuinely care about the future of humanity, or are they all in the pockets of their political donors? Or are they in it for their own personal enrichment?

I'm working on a story about a woman writing erotic stories and trying to get her writing noticed more. It's actually a tongue in cheek satire on story popularity on Lush, but you'll only know that if you read this forum post😉

Oh, thanks for this. I'm writing a story about a writer writing an erotic story so this will come in handy!
