Okay, I might be reaching, but here goes. Would it be possible to see the percentage of votes to views and the percentage of comments to views? I think that these percentages tell a story.
“What story,” you might ask. Here it is...Based upon my setting ‘only members can vote on my stories’, here’s my take. Views alone are great; however, I want to know the percentage of individuals moved enough to vote and comment on the story or poem.
Here’s an example.
My story Brown has 13,618 views with 81 votes. Now the numbers sound great; however, when I examine the percentage of people who viewed it against those moved to vote, it tells a different picture. .59% of people felt moved enough to vote. (Not so pretty.)
Here’s another example.
My poem Daily Head - A Sonnet has 1200 views with 90 votes. This yields a vote to view percentage of 7.5%. My poem moved more people to vote than my story.
Thanks for the consideration.
I'd like to see stats for audio stories as they can vary greatly form reads and views...

Welcome to writer's block... it can take many forms - my personal one is procrastination. It's not that I don't have the time to write, I really do, even though I've been busy.
I actually finished a series and also wrote a poem in the last week and the reason is because a friend said I should limit myself to 45 minutes a day and even if it's going well, I should stop at the 45 minute mark...
It actually worked. He's a very smart friend...
Now I just need to keep the momentum going.
My advice to you is, find a strategy that works for you and stick with it (easy, huh?)

I'm not surprised that you attract attention, D. You are a striking woman, but yes, this rather crosses the line from simple admiration to something a little more sinister.
Would it be worth speaking to the local police? Since you've said that this hasn't been an isolated incident and is obviously a concern. I'd hazard a guess that you're not the only one this has been happening to. Perhaps they would think about sending a patrol car by now and then? Just a thought, but one worth considering.
It does worry me that you're carrying a knife though. As Liz pointed out, it could get you into trouble and there's obviously the potential for it to backfire on you in a struggle or whatever. The sharp hair things are good, but I think a pepper/mace spray would be better and mean that you wouldn't have to actually cause great physical injury to someone.
After a couple of attempted child abductions in the news here, I taught my girls the old "Escape to gain safety" thing

All of these parts of the body are vulnerable and in injuring them, would hopefully give the victim the chance to escape, rather than get into an actual fight. Escape being the best scenario...
