Hi Mazza. I can understand what you mean, both about how it might deplete the posters and especially how you feel about not feeling like you would belong posting in such a section. I feel that myself at times.

I could go on and explain in depth, but I fear that would only acerbate the situation. Maybe the problem exists only in the dark recesses of my mind, and if that is the case, pursuing it further here will only serve to offend more than I have already.

It took awhile for me to suggest this, and I regret deeply giving the implication of homophobia. I made what I felt at the time were two reasonable examples, both based on precedent, and though it was not my intention, it was taken as an accusation of bigotry or racism. Being told not to equate my feelings with something like MLK day was intensly hurtful to me.

So I accept what has been said and I apologize for creating a stir. Those who know me know m as open minded on all things as a person likely be. To be viewed as being the one who pidgeon holes others is anathema to me. It was certainly not my intention.

Milik, thanks for responding to my post, for the record, I didn't think that you came across as homophobic at all - you merely made a suggestion that had been playing on your mind. That is what the forums are for and we should all be able to speak freely here.

I've known you for a while now and I have the utmost respect and admiration for you; as a writer, moderator, poster and as a person. I have always found you to be both fair and balanced.

There's no need to apologise for posting this thread though, please, don't do that. It is an interesting subject which we can all talk about... Whether we can agree, lol I doubt it!

I think more people need to post...

This...I agree with (I think I just channeled Yoda).

I really would hate to see the forums broken down into a bunch of homogeneous little groups. That doesn't sound fun to me. I love the diversity and chaos of everyone posting anywhere, and I think we all learn more that way.

I definitely see where you're coming from, Milik, but I would really miss the mishmash of it all. I enjoy keeping the lines a little blurry.

Great, CG says in a couple of lines, what it took me ages to say... AND she used homogeneous

From what I've seen, posts relating specifically to gay and or bi issues, do seem to be mostly left alone? Which affords them relative privacy?
In answer to the original post, Milik, I personally don't see the benefit of having a specifically gay/bi area. I agree with LM, that from what I've seen most topics are covered in the general forums anyway... Surely rather than split the community into groups (and I don't mean gals/guys - because we all post on those regardless of sex anyway) it would be better to have more threads to accommodate everyone's needs?

I mean, I personally would be unlikely to visit that section (not being gay) and in fact, I would feel that I "couldn't" visit that section - I don't generally see posts in the BDSM area for the same reason, unless I click on a friend's post in my newsfeed, but I am extremely unlikely to post in BDSM as I know nothing about it and have no experience...

As for the gay community, well, I do have some experience there, I worked in a gay pubs and nightclub for some years and still have many gay and bi friends (in both the real and virtual worlds). Most of my friends (from what I've seen and heard) would rather feel accepted, that being gay was not considered to be anything other than normal and it would that mean that we might lose lots of fantastic input on the general forums too, I think...

Why not just have more gay/bi threads in the regular forums, then everyone can read and post or not if they choose to - that way we all at least get to see the posts, get the benefit of everyone's collective experience and continue to learn and grow the way we always do here on Lush? I guess what I am trying to say and not doing it very well is that the regular forums would be crap without all of the people who frequent them just now... Why split us into groups?
Yes!

The person below me is doing something that they really shouldn't be ;)

I’ve added some parallelism to the spell checking process, let me know if its any better.

Gav, you truly are the best! Sorry for causing a problem!

Thank you so much for helping me out!!! (you're a very patient man!)

Interesting post, Rump!! (every day's a school day, I've learned something new!!)

If it's all the same to you, I might give the donuts a miss, but a laced coffee sure sounds good right about now...

Just about broke Lush last night trying to submit a story... Thankfully Gav was on hand to save the day!! What a trooper that man is!!

I'm having problems submitting a story today. Other than it being a comp entry, I've not done anything different than I normally would, but when I click submit, the page just hangs for a while before going to a Lush error page.

I thought of saving it as a draft, but I'm not sure how to do that... I can't get past the submit page, which I am assuming I would have to, in order to save it as a draft...

Have submitted a "problem" PM, but not heard back yet...

Any thoughts?

thanks x

I would not be totally convinced that you're exclusive if you know what I mean. The 'hanging with my friends' things seems like a cop-out or at the very least a sign that he sees you as more of a casual thing at this stage.

Even if he's legit with his buddies tonight - Thursday night - typical boy's night - V-day atmosphere in the bars. A good night for guys to be hitting the scene and playing. I would not get too emotionally invested in this guy to be brutally honest. Been down this road before. Have fun, but proceed with caution.

I'm with DD on this one...

This cover gives me chills every time. Stunning.

I love Sinead O'Connor and was lucky enough to see her perform live last year... I have to say that it's one I'll never forget. It was truly a very moving evening...
Pretty sweet version of the Specials' classic...

You know, I happened to catch the show Nashville the other day and they used a Civil Wars song in it... It pleased me smile
AGES ago!!! Just before Christmas...

*sigh* It's just not good enough!!! Lol

(EDIT: the "not good enough" refers to the time lapse, not the sex hahahaha)
You know, I use googledocs which means you can work online from any device, meaning that your work is always saved and up to date.. It's basic, but an excellent way of working from a phone...

Funny story...

I went to the gym today and this whole thread was playing on my mind the entire time.

There was one guy who came into the gym at the same time as me. I caught his eye a couple of times but didn't say anything (besides, he had headphones on). Our paths crossed several times on the gym floor—he even sat on the rowing machine next to me for a while—and I probably could have said something to him but... I didn't. We were even back in the locker room getting changed to go home at the same time and I nearly said hi as he was putting his socks on, but I chickened out (and because that would be SO gay).

I headed back into town to run a few errands before heading home. When I came out of the pharmacy, I bump into a friend of mine and who is he with? The guy from the gym. We got introduced and kind of made awkward mention of the fact we had both just been at the gym together.

Clearly the universe wanted me to meet this guy, for whatever reason.

Thought I'd share.

Synchronicity...

love it
Have to say that I agree with the ladies above... crotchless panties aren't a turn on for me... not a fan of nippleless/peephole bras either
