If you are puzzled by my groupings, there is some method to the madness, which I will endeavour to explain. Firstly the polls are limited to 9 options, so grouping was unavoidable.

Now how I grouped:

1. Anal, Quickie, Straight, First time - All categories determined by the type of penetration
2. BDSM, reluctance, spanking - All dominance/submission fantasies
3. Group sex, Exhibitionism and Voyeur - All involving extra players
4. Gay Male, Lesbian, Trans, Bisexual, Crossdressing - All categories determined by sexuality
5. Masterbation, Oral sex - Categories with no vaginal or anal penetration
6. Fetish, Toys, Supernatural - Categories with a twist on the norm
7. Mature, MILF, Interracial - categories with specific players
8. , - Well, really.
9. Love stories, Wife Lovers - stories with a strong romance/relationship element

Hi,

I'm interested to see how reading habits differ between the guys and the gals, and also which categories are the most popular over all. (I suspect will be near the top of the list, lol)

If you're a guy, please vote, if you're a girl, go vote in the other thread -

If you feel like adding a comment as to why you voted the way you did, awesome

Personally, I don't like having to "earn" head. If I were to go down on a lover it wouldn't be because she did something to garner my attention there.

Damn straight!

Is it me, or is there some kind of assumption in the very idea of "bartering for sex" that suggests a) women expect payment for their services and b) a man would purposefully provide his services purely in the expectation of return. Funny how it is rarely discussed the other way around!

If she has stopped doing something she used to do willingly, look for the trigger, identify what has changed. In fact, consider how willing she was in the first place. Did she ever give you head selflessly?
I've written both... okay, so mainly stories but still.

So far I've never had any particular tales to tell that lend themselves to poetry. I like to develop characters, settings and scenarios, while poetry lends itself more to the raw emotion and action. But on the flip side, poetry has been a nice way to express emotions that don't have a story behind them.
So long as it suits the guys face then I'm all in favour. Although generally I would come down on the side of smaller, neater beards over big bushy soup catchers. Love the tickle of a little facial hair, or the soft scratch of a few days growth.
Nicely summarised.

However, if you intend to use (what looks like) chance and coincidence to move your plot you're going to need careful preparation. Using deus ex machina (situations, objects, and helpers that were just suddenly THERE without explanation,) is unacceptable. The author should NEVER pull a rabbit out of their hat simply to rescue their hero.

The trick is to put the plot element into your story EARLY without making the reader aware of its importance. Never telegraph your punches. Every choice made MUST seem logical for that character.

Ah, precedent. The trick is to slip it in without it being obvious, and sometimes it's not easy :P

Usually I have to go back and re-write whole sections to address this. After my first draft of my hope-to-be-one-day-published novel I started writing on ahead into sequels to see where the story was going. In what will be book four, having switched narrators, my new MC made a wonderful observation on my first book MC that necessitated re-writing most of the first book. LOL.

And this doesn't just relate to objects or scenarios either, it relates to character's skills too. Can't have a every-man office worker type suddenly hot wire a car with no prior reference to why he might know how to do such a thing.

Thanks Morgan biggrin

I think this thread did a quick turn and it became hazards of being a guy....

Or possibly "battle of the sexes"

I think breasts may be the female equivalent of testicles. When it's hot and sticky they stick to you, it hurts when you bump them on something and god forbid getting your nipple caught in a zip!
When thinking about your nads spare a thought for boobs!

Don't forget the need to strap on 20lb of support just to go jogging! Or else risk having them round your knees in 10yrs time.
Learn to recognise the difference between a scene (showing) and narrative summary (telling). Showing is much more interesting for a reader. For example, showing a conversation as a series of dialogue lines is more engaging than just describing that a conversation took place and explaining the outcome.
I think it depends on the types of girls your talking about too. There are nice girls out there, looking for a nice guy, it's just sometimes they're shy or quiet. Just because the flamboyant girl who catch your eye isn't interested, doesn't mean the girl behind her isn't.

But bad boys do supply one thing in spades... adrenalin.
I'm not saying nice guys can't be exciting, only that they are understanding and compassionate, which takes away some of that adrenalin rush.

Divide your age by two and add seven. Thats as low as you should go.

Don't like that rule. It would mean I was off limits to anyone over forty. Na silly

Personally, regarding Lush, I have no limits. We're all just words on the screen here. Basically...

Age is just a number.
If there is a connection between two people irrespective of age, I think both should explore it further.

..what he said.

btw, something else i just realized, even if you're invisible, when you're looking at a thread, your names shows up at the bottom - yeah, today is total paranoia day, and i'm not asking to change that, just pointing out that it's hard enough to sneak around here as it is without being seen - some of us do like a little privacy from time to time. btw, i just poked Doll cause i can SEE she's been on for an hour now and she hasn't responded for like 60 seconds now... she hates me, i KNEW it! a friendship based on LIES i tell you! going to go 3 bomb ALL her stories now. that'll show the bitch!

I have to confess I've used that to spot persistent lurkers in the past.

For that matter your recent activity updates even if you are invisible, so if you do anything while you're invisible you make it known.

While we're at it a sign on as invisible feature might be useful

I second that idea. I always forget to change my status back when I log off, so if I want to be invisible when I come back I end up running the "how fast can I change my status" gauntlet.
Well my stalkers seem to be loving it, lol.

The vague date thing was fine to be able to tell if someone had perhaps not replied to a message because they hadn't been on-line for three days or because they were ignoring you. If you need finer detail than that, you probably need help.

So far I have no cause to complain per say, but I can imagine I would soon enough.

Could it be made an optional feature, like how much of your location details it displays? You could choose whether it just showed the date or the date and time.

Men cheat because they are horny and/or neglected. If a couple in a marriage has no or very little sex that's just a sign of a bigger issue. Either husband or wife or both have become disconnected. They may actually be great friends and very much love the other. But the passion and desire is gone. Take your typical guy who no longer excites his wife... another woman falling for his charms, laughing at his jokes, craves his gaze, unable to hide her smile when he's around... that stuff is intoxicating to a man who has lost his "game". Sex is just the payoff. Men cheat to feel better about themselves even if it only lasts for the few minutes he's actually fucking someone.

That works the other way round too, it's not just men.

It's probably one of the very, very rare examples of male multi-tasking.

Just shows what people can achieve with the right motivation ;)
In many species the genetic drive in males is to find as many partners as possible, while in the female the drive is to find the best partner.

Not that I'm saying this is the entire story for sentient humans with the ability to think past their instincts, but it could be a factor. Of course both sides of that theory could be an explanation for cheating.
