Rude people at a movie theater. I don't fucking care if we're at the discount theater with $2.00 regular and $3.50 3D movies that have been out for months, sit down and shut the fuck up... I didn't come here to hear you yap... I came to watch a movie.

Anyone who thinks that a gallon of cologne is how you stay "fresh".

Homemade peanut butter cookies...fresh from the oven, fork pressed center. Where's the milk...?

OMG! How in the hell could I forget about these... Trinity... you are a woman after my own heart... & stomach!
While Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies (made with real Girl Scouts of course) is super high on my rankings... a family recipe of Ranger Cookies is my all time favorite.

However, I'll never say no to a good molasses cookie or a warm chocolate chip cookie either.

I think the Co-Author Badge idea is well worth consideration.

As far as the duplication of EP or RR, I don't see that as a doable option. The co-author's name is credited on the story that has the award. Right now, there is no way to duplicate the story and views onto the co-author's page. To me, it doesn't seem necessary. I have co-authored stories, but none of those appear on my page. I am fine with that. If you'll check out the fabulous DanielleX's page, you can find two stories I co-wrote with her.

The fact that the RR for the co-authored story is on her page does not make me feel left out at all.

Now if at some time Gav could create a Co-Authored Stories link that appears at the bottom of your story list that would take the viewer to that story on the other writer's page, that would be nice.

Both the badge and the link would be awesome! It could encourage more co-written pieces.

I have been the writer who posted the stories that I have written with collaborators. I have always felt a little guilty about getting the recognition attached to those stories but for the mention of the co-writer's name at the beginning of each story and the acknowledgement note that most writers (including me) add to the stories. Anyone who reads the stories knows who the other writer is so the praise in comments is shared. I realize that there is some inequity in the poster of the story getting the views, badges, and possible awards.

However, the suggestions that have been made so far to remedy this would put those who collaborate on stories in a better position than those who write alone in that each story would be doubly posted, doubly awarded and double rated and ranked. For those who count views towards hundreds of thousands and millions, it would be a sort of double dipping to allow the story to be viewed and have those views counted on two members' pages. Dividing the views between the two writers does not make sense either.

I understand that it rankles to see a story you have worked on garner views and awards for your co-writer that cannot be shared, but I can think of no equitable way to fix this to make it fair between collaborators and at the same time remain fair to the other writers on the site. I would be open to any suggestions that could do that.

I hadn't thought about the "double-dipping" issue, but you do make a valid point. However, I still feel that the co-writer is cheated. At the very least, the story should at the very least post on the pages for both authors. If there was a "Co-Author" badge (VirgoGo had a great idea for this) it might help. Now, there aren't that may co-written pieces and if Lush want to encourage this... then a solution needs to be found. Perhaps (and this is just a suggestion Gav) there can be a setting for those who don't care about the counts (like clicking a box for opting out of the votes, awards, etc.)
To piggy-back on what is being said about the collaboration... I have done 3 or 4 collaborations and I'm working on two more. One did earn an RR and often I'm asked to post these stories because I get the readership. However, I do feel it's unfair to my partner that they don't get the votes, the reads, and the awards. Plus, if they post the story (which has happened) I'm cheated out of reads, votes, and any awards as well.

While I'm thrilled that we can do collaborations... I would love it if all my collaboration stories would appear on both pages... mine & my co-writer's. Milik is right... "Honorable Mention" is just not enough.
I can't believe there isn't a thread up already for the amazing Scarlet Seductress since today is her birthday. So please join me in wishing the amazing Liz a very happy birthday.

When *someone* carelessly awakens an ancient, malevolent spirit that has been slumbering underground for centuries. It's just so annoying.

How did I miss this before? Brilliant!!!
Hermione Granger's wand from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban because she used it to threaten Malfoy just before she belts him.

But I'd take any of her wands for any of the other movies.

This and the bell from the Christmas tree that rings at the end. "Look Daddy! Teacher says, every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings!"
My only advice is to not use the same name in multiple stories unless you're using the same characters (in a series or multi-chapter story.) If you want the name to have some significance, Google what the name means. Sometimes you can throw in an Easter Egg with a name that has a hidden meaning.
1. Liars
2. Hypocrites
3. Internet trolls
4. Parents who don't discipline their child/children

You've gotta start with some kissing. A little smoochy smooch.

Now this I totally agree with.

I think I've suggested this before, but I'd love to be able to preview my forum signature like I can with forum posts.

This would help as now the only way to see if it worked the way you want is to have two windows open and refreshing after you've submitted the new signature. Thus, if the signature is too big, or the link isn't working right as some of us create a link with our forum signatures, we only know if we refresh the other window. Having a preview window (or something like that) would really help.

Maybe a category in the General Topics specifically for Birthday Threads....

With all the Birthday Threads that occur including the newest one for the great & powerful Gav, having a Topic that was just for thread like this is a WONDERFUL idea! Especially when more than one gets started by someone with only the best of intentions.

Very Glad No one has put me on anyone's list and hope it stays that way and mine are Three:

Buz = Whom I met and have been friends with and I have been reading since I arrived back in either 08 or 09. And seen his stuff go from his college days to what he's working on presently.

Poppet = Whom I met when joined the first time was here again in 08 or 09. And always liked her stuff.

Nymphwriter = Whom I met when joined the first time was here again in 08 or 09. And her plethora of work is like Buz, and Poppet's being like evolution in action.

How I missed this I'll never know... thank you so much for this acknowledgement.
TWICE?!? You earned this TWICE?!? I knew you were awesome... but now... everyone knows!!!

I have loved your work for a long time and I stand by my belief that your overall best piece is Want. The day I read it I wept because we were in the same comp and I knew I had just had my ass kicked and kicked hard. I knew hands down it would win (and you know I told you as much.)

Trust was the second story I knew I had my ass kicked in a comp. From then on I knew if you were in the running... I was beat. However to lose to an amazing author as yourself doesn't hurt so much. You are amazingly talented and wickedly smart. While your screen names is AvrgBlkGrl... you talent is anything but average... in truth... you should be Superior Black Girl because you're such an amazing writer.

Please remember me when you are an internationally famous author.
With the movie coming out soon... Miss Peregrine's Home for Unusual Children

I know how you feel about him. It's no secret. However, please don't clog my social media posts with your venom about him because you think I was cheated or denied something. First off, that's none of yours or anyone else's business. It makes you look petty. I have been standing on my own two feet for many years, and even though I had to ask for help a while back doesn't make me weak. Don't hate on me because I am doing what you never could. Don't try to make me feel guilty for doing what was best of me & my family. Accept the fact I learned from your mistakes.

I have an idea, and honestly I think its a pretty valid and good idea. I know that some of us have made our forum signatures too big. Isn't there a way to alter the size to automatically fit the signature area? I know how to check my pixels and kb's but not everyone does, and not everyone complies. I've been guilty of it myself.

I second this! Nothing frustrates me more than seeing forum signatures that are way bigger than what is allowed. I have kept my at the proper level since this took effect & I got my warning (I think from Dani, but it might have been Coco.) It's usually the last thing I do when I make my signatures.
