I totally agree... but at least the block is a hell of a lot better than what we had before... which was nothing (well... practically nothing) & it extends to the timelines.

Well... while I agree with the deleting shit off our timelines... I will say that the block does extend to the timeline. So if you have someone blocked, no matter how many times they quote you... it won't clog up your timeline whatsoever.

This bonus feature has made the block that much more awesome and in my opinion, has helped reduce the drama.

The cartoon is trying to make light of a very serious issue. While you are correct that the myth that vaccines has been debunked, it still doesn't stop some parents from not vaccinating their child(ren) and putting other children at risk for diseases like measles, whooping cough, mumps, etc. Sadly, I've met a parent of an autistic child who swears up and down his vaccines were the cause of his autism (despite what the research has said.) I hope one day the "cause" of autism can be found.

Making a joke about autism is in the same category of poor taste as making a joke about someone who is retarded or suffers from other disabilities.

While I'm not a parent of an autistic child... I have 6 autistic students in my classes this school year. They struggle everyday to pick up simple social cues and struggle with figurative language. Some will stem or fixate on an item, others will burst into tears for no reason I can see. All six of my students have different issues and I must be very careful to not upset them. They struggle with stress and they don't do change very well.

So, no, the joke isn't funny. The cartoon is offensive.

As far as why you weren't following me... maybe it was a glitch. As we know, some of Gav's updates have caused minor issues from time to time.

You are correct that I hadn't written for an extended period of time due to a busy non-Lush life and no good ideas. The latest comp was the mojo I needed for a new idea to flow.

I didn't think you were wrong... I just think that like some of the other suggestions that Gav has taken the time to implement... this too should be an option for those who want it. I for one, don't want to know if someone unfollows me. If they do... that is their choice & honestly none of my business.

Do I agree with the notify non follow thing ect.. No, I don't anymore than I do they hide who I follow or whose stories I follow option which imo makes me wonder why even have the option?

For example, I follow sprite, Buz, AVG and a few others, they don't follow me and I don't expect them to, I follow them because I love how they write and like to read them... I never did the you follow me and I will follow you thing or you read mine and I will read yours thing.

It just seems to me that Gav's time is being wasted on pettiness and rivalry amongst the writers... He cannot please us all and I hope that those of us that are more adult about these things won't make his life more complicated by having to add tick this option on top of having to add silly block options.

As I have said before I follow who I like and leave them showing, hoping that others will read them too because I think they are good, same goes for the stories I favourite.

Now here is where I'm going to disagree with you sweetie. While I applaud all that Gav has done to make Lush a better site, I do agree that we should have the option to be notified if someone unfollows us or not. Some do want that feature while others do not. By making it an option, those who want to know when they are unfollowed, they will be notified, and those who do not, will have no clue.

As to the whole "You follow me and I'll follow you" nonsense... I'm always flattered when someone feels I'm worthy to be followed. However, I don't follow someone just because they follow me... I follow someone because I'm a fan of their writing. I know it means more work for Gav, but it will continue to make Lush a better site for all.
