This is good to know (the scene you have mentioned) as my 7th graders are reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas next quarter and since many of my kids have seen this film, they will ask about this scene.

I loved the film, I didn't love the book.
Interesting... I just might try to show the movie in my room after all. I've been told our history department shows it which is why we (the reading teachers) teach the book. I'd be interested to learn if my students share your opinion that the movie is better than the book.

It never should have happened... but it did. Pretending it didn't happen won't work. Putting us under a "gag order" was the wrong call. Too many unanswered questions... too many tears shed... too little done. Don't tie our hands when all we want to do is help them grieve. Yes... a child died. A child who was very popular. A child who once occupied space in my classroom. Did you come to me? NO. Did you allow me to help my kids? NO. But I did anyway. I hope when the dust settles we don't loose too many of our amazing staff because you made the wrong call.

While I'll admit when I first joined it seemed like I was posting a lot... I had several stories already written and ready to post. Some that are in multiple parts were written all at one time, then broken up so I could keep the series going.
Like the awesome Milik, my job also limits my free time to read great stories and write my own. Sometimes I get lucky and I'll have a great idea and enough down time to knock out a draft. Other times it takes me days, weeks, or months to get the draft written. Really just depends. I've got a few in assorted stages of writings (as I'm sure many others here are as well.)
I'm not sure how long my worst writer's block was... I try to do other things to keep my mind off of it.
I post when I can. I would rather write a good, quality story, than produce a piece of shit that even the Mods wouldn't approve (as if their job isn't hard enough.)
