I have now got as far as starting the story again and have been able to save a draft. I still have problems getting the tags that I actually want, despite using the drop down. I have NOT yet tried adding an authors note, I might decide not to because it is probably not essential.

Did the story with tags not submit, or were the tags not added?

I was adding an Authors note because it was to be my 200th story for Lush. So I should try again without the note and it should work as normal? I was using the drop down on tags and even if I clicked on 'create (whatever)' it did not work. I was not attempting to use obscure tags but I will try again when I make another attempt at creating this (200th) story.

I have just reported this as a bug but not sure that it is one. I have twice today attempted to start and save draft of a new story. I have only got as far as the preliminaries, story title, category, tags (which I could not create the tags that I actually wanted) and first word of the story. Both times I clicked on 'save draft' - I have no doubt that I did-with a few to typing the story over the next day or so. The story did not go to unpublished but both times went to published (pending viewing by a Mod). I deleted it both times because I could not edit it but it was certainly not for publication. This is the first (technically second) time that I have had this particular problem. Not being able to create the actual tags that I wanted despite several attempts was also frustrating. I don't know if this problem is unique to me but I would like to be able to type, edit and submit a new story sometime soon please.

Sorry (really) that almost all of my Forum posts are 'complaining' ones but I just want to write stories, it is mostly what I am on Lush for. (Apart from some chatting).

Stories which are series linked are numbered in the drop down list and also have the 'read next', 'read previous' buttons at the bottom.

There currently is no way to link one story to another if they're not in a series the way you could on v1. I've brought this to their attention and it's on the to do list.

Edit: you could always just copy and paste the link to one of your other stories at the bottom of your current story for now

A lot of my stories are follow-on and sometimes they become a series. Occasionally I will use Part 2, Part 3 etc in a title but sometimes a series of stories of mine might have a variation of titles. That was fine in the past when a reader would be able to see a link to a previous or following story, not now though. I know it works if you have a series title but only one of my sets of stories has a series title. Do I need to now add a series title to each story in my many series OR is the series link coming back please?

At the moment a reader might alight on an old story of mine and not know that there may well be other stories in the series.

Just as an afterthought, even if I go in and give each series a series name, what tells a reader the order to read them in please, date of publication?

True, at the moment there is no message going out for a story approved, we can only add a note when one is returned or rejected for any reason. I believe it's coming. Last I checked, followers were not getting notices when the authors they follow publish something new either, but that too is in the works. Hang in there, the IT folks are hard at work.

The one and only folder that I had HAS come back, sort of.

It has reappeared in my inbox but not as a folder but as lots of individual messages.

Seriously though, stories are going through fine, people are just a bit knackered, still learning new processes and also want to have a bit of fun when they come here. There will be a backlog for a while yet, but it will get cleared eventually.

The reason unpublished stories move to the bottom of your published list now is because they don't yet have a published date, that's all. They're still in the queue in their usual place because the queue uses submission date.

Once published with the date populated, they go back to the top.

Yeah, the same thing is happening to me. The story is at the back of the published stories, but it still has the blue "pending" bar over it, which is sort of a contradiction! I didn't get a "we have approved your story" message yet. It seems that stories go through some kind of limbo stage before being posted? Sorry, Jen, I know you have a lot to deal with, but if you don't know why this is happening, then who does?

The only thing different is the order.

Previously stories would go for moderation, show pending status, but keep their place on your profile. Now when they're pending moderation they appear at the bottom of your stories list. When your story is published, as Paul saw above, they return to the top.

The blue pending status means your story is in the queue to be verified (yours is, I've checked).

I suspect the change might be to do with submission Vs publication date beating tweaked.

At this moment the story is nowhere to be seen on my page. It is not shown as published and it is not shown as unpublished. Does it temporarily disappear if it is being looked at by a Mod please?

I agree. I am, obviously, happy enough for grammatical and punctuation errors to be corrected but if any wording is changed or omitted in a story that I have submitted, at least I would like to know about it. I am in no way suggesting that this has happened but in the 'old' way of doing things, ANYTHING that was changed was highlighted.

I was told that you need to press "Enter" after each word. Unlike the old way of commas. Hope that helps. 

Thank you Verity, I will try to remember to try that next time. It is too late for this story that I started today because it is already at saved draft stage (with lots to be added) minus the tags.

I hope to be able to continue to post stories as I am doing at the moment going from 'new story' and starting the story there then going to saved draft to add to it further before editing and submitting.

I should have looked back further in this thread because the advice given to you is here.

Banners are constantly changing-don't know if it has been reported and I assume that it had supposed to be happening but the banners on my profile and on at least one friend's profile are constantly changing.

You can save stories as a draft and work on them later. You can then submit them once you're ready.

Or you can write a story directly into the editor and submit it straight away. It's up to you.

You can copy and paste from e.g. a word document, but like the previous lush editor, this may strip out some or all of the formatting.

Yes, I believe publishing from draft of now fixed - if it doesn't, the copy-paste workaround is fine, but let us know so we know it still needs work.

Your unpublished copy of your published one should be fine to delete - if you want to be absolutely sure, copy it into Word or something before you delete the unpublished one - if it somehow deletes the published one (I think there is zero chance of that happening) submit it again with a note that it was all my fault 😉

Thank you. I will continue with the latest story and hopefully submit it successfully from draft when completed and edited. I will pluck up courage to delete the unpublished version of the previous one that eventually got published. I will copy it first, just in case. Thanks again. Paul

Sorry-one other point. I put tags on the 'new' page of the story that I am working on but they do NOT appear on the draft. I know that when I copied and pasted the previous one you said there were no tags so do I type them (again) on the draft please?
