I see, just in case, I've linked you to said page and have inboxed you link for easy access while you wait for the site to function properly for you.

Thank you for that.

Quote by IMPURETHOUGHTS

That's strange. But I made a ,gif as I haven't had any issues.

Thank you so much for your concern.

I think that it is a problem for me that has occurred during the day because I think that I could get to 'Activity' in the normal way via 'Home' earlier today.

Quote by simplyjohn

I suggest you try the usual clear cache/cookies and reboot/try again.

Okay, I mentioned it in case it was a new/general problem.

Quote by IMPURETHOUGHTS

The HOME tag works fine. Loading ACTIVITY page always does take a while.

Thanks. I know that sometimes Activity takes a while to load, but at the moment I do not even get the 'Activity' button to click on unless I log out and back in again.

Quote by WannabeWordsmith

Odd. The Home link in the menu when visiting my profile works fine. On mobile at least. Not tried it on desktop. Is that what you're using?

You can get to the front page at any time by clicking the LushStories logo in the menu bar, btw.

Yes, I am on desktop.

When I click on 'Home' from my profile, I get the red bar at the top and the black bit at the bottom BUT a completely white screen in between.

I tried clicking on the LushStories logo as you suggest and, assuming you mean the one on top left of the red bar, I get exactly the same. Red bar, black at the bottom of the page, and blank (white) in between.

Has the 'Home' tag function changed, or maybe not functioning, because if I click on it from my profile, I get nothing?

To get to my 'Activity' page, I have to log out and then get there when I log back in again.

That is the only way that I can get to Lush front page, also.

Thank you.

I have today commenced writing a new story, my first since the changes.

Having seen this thread, little has come as a surprise to me and the changes seem to make things easier BUT if I had not seen this thread I would have been somewhere on the forum asking what is going on very soon after I started the story.

As has been said, prior warning of this might have been a good idea.

It's Good News Week.

As withdrawals to PayPal are now up and running, I am able to proceed with my purchase of a small island in the Caribbean.

Hedgehoppers Anonymous!

Presumably, your island will have nude bathing.

I am pleased that I have seen this thread because, unusually for me, I have not written anything for about 3 days and I have no stories in preparation.

Seeing this will hopefully save me from wondering what is going on when I next start (and complete) another story.

Quote by WannabeWordsmith

The story will be fine if all you're changing is tags. But try it on one story and if by some random act of nature it does go to the queue, shout here and someone will pop it back on the site pronto.

It works!

Thank you.

I deleted the tag that had no relevance to the story, hit submit, AND my story is still where it should be.

I have several other stories where the same tag appears two or, sometimes, three times. I might tidy those up.

Update: Whew, the biggest bit of the cleanup is done! Down from 24 000+ tags to 9 000. Still a lot, but a lot better.

*** ⚠ *** Please check your stories individually and fix any taggy weirdness (sorry, it couldn't be avoided! Something something egg something omelette). If you only edit your tags, your story won't go back into the queue for re-approval when you hit "submit".

That should be all. Any tag-related questions and angry messages can be directed at me. I've already put on my helmet. Let's go.

Kind regards,

cydia ✧/ᐠ-ꞈ-ᐟ\

Thank you for your efforts.

I can see one recent story of mine that now has a 'married man' tag but there is no married man in the story. I just want to remove that tag, not change it for something else, so if I click on the little 'x' and hit submit that will do it without the story going back into the queue?

There may well be other tag alterations once I check on the 350+ stories of mine.

I am reluctant to do this and hit submit until you promise that the story will not 'disappear.'

Thank you.

Paul

The story that I am currently writing has had tags changed, omitted, and put in a different order.

I am not sure that I like that, but I guess that is what I will have to get used to.

Quote by cydia

Wording changed - Yeah, that was probably me.

I did not mean that the wording was changed by a Mod, it changed (more than once) before submission.

I type my stories direct to Lush, saving draft very frequently, and I added tags before the story was finished. Although saved, when I next went in on 'edit' to continue typing the story, the tags were not all the same as originally added, nor in the same order.

I eventually gave up on trying to get the tags as I originally wanted them and in the order I intended. The story is now online but the tags are not as initially added nor in the order originally added or intended, but it is no big deal.

Thank you, Cydia. I had some weird happenings with tags on a story that I submitted yesterday, so much so that I mentioned it in the 'Note to Moderators' box.

I had tags disappearing, had wording changed and also the order in which they were added and made sense chronologically changed.

I now know the culprit was The VHT.

Certainly, sometimes a story that I am writing goes in a different direction than where I originally intended.

I have characters developing in a way that I did not originally envisage.

I still like to think that I am in control as the author, but maybe you have a point, and the characters take over the story and take it where they want it to go.

Dialogue is important in my stories and sometimes a character might say something that they did not seem capable of earlier in the story.

I tend to write for myself in as much as I try to write stories that I would like to read and enjoy if written by someone else.

It is nice to get a number of nice comments and also to get lots of likes and 'favs' but sometimes I think 'well you liked that one but why did you not like such and such, which I think is better?'

Likes seem to depend on the category that a story is written in (at least partly) because I have written about four in the crossdressing category (from imagination along with advice from those that know) and I like to think that they are quite good, but they do not get huge amounts of likes.

I do particularly like to get likes and comments from females because I like it if my words and imagination excite a lady.

If I was asked which my 'best' story was, it would not necessarily be the one that has got the most attention.

A very interesting question, Kimmi.

The things that I mentioned in the opening post now seem to be back to normal now (or coming back). Thank you.

You're obviously a Forum magnet as well as a Babe one. 😍

Not yet getting as much interest as your Fancy A Quick Flash thread though

Nice to see a thread that I started getting so much interest and comment.

I look forward to all the currently non-working aspects of the site working in the near future.

I was serious! I think the members just love that beard. smile

I will let you know if this quote increases the number of visitors to my page, if we are ever again able to see who is visiting.

I got 3 PMs, including mail notifications, over my lunch so I guess things are moving again?

EDIT: Though this thread still has 0 views. 🤣

Not for me (yet).

Everything is still the same as per my thread opening post.

The tech team are aware, but bear in mind office hours are mon-fri, so things just might be a bit wonky until tomorrow.

Thank you, Jen.

Is it hoped that things will catch up, please?

For instance, messages that I have sent but are not visible on my messages will become visible eventually?

(Oh and those 150 people that have no doubt visited my page today will eventually be shown via Activity?)

Quote by Hmm45

you are correct for all issues…admin have been notified, several hours ago now, and advised that this was not there priority to rectify!

Thank you very much.

Glad that it is not just me, I think!

Nothing major, and in isolation very trivial, but a number of things seem strange.

(1)I have had no notifications, although if I click on interactions I see that I have had a like on a story.

(2)I have apparently had no visits to my page on checking Activity. Not necessarily inaccurate but a bit surprising.

(3) One message that I have sent, and I can see by clicking on messages on the person's page, does not appear in my messages.

(4) None of my sent messages today are being shown as read, in itself not necessarily unusual but along with these other things, I am wondering if everything is running as it should be.

If there is a (5) or (6) I will get back to you!

Just as an addition to (3) I have just sent a message to someone else and I can see it on message on their page but it does not appear in my messages list.

Yes it very much depends on the queue size and moderator workload around their real life commitments.

As far as frontpage exposure goes, don't worry about it. In terms of readership and engagement it makes very (very) little difference. Hardly anybody besides bots camp on the front page. Their job is to index content and see how busy the site is so they can come back more regularly. They also index the category pages, which have far more stories on them - with more relevance to the category itself - and spend longer on page 1 of the respective results.

My competition piece has been on the front page for over a month and has gained about a hundred views and 1 like/comment in that time. Same for all the comp pieces, this time and last time.

Cultivate your readers. Engage with them. Read and comment on other works. Drum up interest in the forums and your profile wall, and encourage followers to check their reading queue regularly.

When we get a more focused page for all our friends and followers, that will help even more. But until then, focus your efforts in places other than the front page, as those will reap greater dividends.

Thank you very much for all this.

I was not specifically thinking of myself, I am very happy with the number of followers that I have and I get quite a lot of likes and comments, often from regular readers of my stories.

I do sometimes message new arrivals on Lush inviting them to read and enjoy my stories.

As I said, it is not specifically about me, it was just a general observation.

Mine usually average around 6 to 8 hours on a good day, but have had one drop off in less than 40 minutes. There is definitely an ebb and flow with modding, as should be expected since they are volunteering their time. The day of the week seems a factor as well, along with a comp just beginning or nearing its end. I don't see how it could be more equalized given all the variables, short of holding back postings, which would cause a riot. I'm sure

Personally, I don't use the front page, since I have no interest in 95% of the categories. I go directly to the ones I do enjoy, where there is usually a much longer hang time for new stories.

Thank you for this.

As I said, it is an observation rather than a complaint but I decided to put it in print because sometimes the time variations are so huge. I do understand that there are no doubt reasons, but it just seems a bit unfair regarding an author getting full exposure for a new story.

This does not involve me directly on this occasion, although both scenarios have applied to me.

There seems to often be huge discrepancies in the length of time a story remains on the front page.

As I type this the 'oldest' story on the front page was published 2 hours ago but sometimes a story can still be on the front page after 27 hours or maybe more.

This is an observation rather than question, I have had stories sitting there for upwards of 24 hours but have also had them disappear in less than 3.

Presumably it depends on how many stories are being submitted and how many reviewers are available but sometimes the front page gets flooded with new stories (as now) meaning that a story can disappear rapidly.

I know that followers get notifications of a new story, and I have a lot of followers, but this huge differential in potential time on the front page does not seem very fair.

Anyway, just thought that I would mention it- probably it has been mentioned before, I have not checked, sorry.
