Or at least abroad.
Rocco's post in this other thread made me think of...

Ascend

It's always best to let a lady go up the stairs first so you can watch her ascend.

Yours doesn't have a team of mechanics like mine does, Marcos-Spanish name.

One wife says, "He loves me in all ways," she said, adding: "We will not be living in the same house..."

Well I guess with some spouses you like them better the less they are around.

Honestly from what I have read of the study, the groups findings seem to me to be greatly over stated.

There were two groups of 8000 participents in each group, one was given the drug and one wasn't.

In the control group 74 people became infected with the virus compared to 51 who took the drug.

Now statistically that seems to me to hardly give overwelming scientific conformation that the drug is effective. Maybe with more tests the numbers may be able to be repeatable, 74 to 51 is not going to change anybodies lives anytime soon

Two groups of 8000 is a pretty large cohort, and they did not say overwhelming, they said for a vaccine it was a statistically significant difference.

That is like saying that anti-lock brakes will reduce your chances of a crash. You may still crash, but it will be less likely to happen.

I have done some work in Tanzania, Zambia and Sierra Leone which all have pretty high HIV/AIDS rates. And in some of the villages we worked in we were having problems because some of the male leaders would say something about how condoms were "evil" and that they needed to be boiled before use. Which means they no longer do their jobs. In one of these villages in particular we had made progress convincing them that was just a bunch of malarky.

Then some other volunteers passing through came and said that HIV really doesn't cause AIDS and that AIDS is not the result of an STD. So the people stopped using the condoms we provided. They said they did ths because they were stopping us from spending unnecesary money for a made up disease.

That's really frustrating. Believing in a course of action and then having it undermined.

It's a conundrum to me. There are very smart people who are clearly risking a lot to say that there is no connection between HIV and AIDS, there are experts who have made statements that AIDS was a biologically engineered disease. Those statements are contrary to the medical establishment's current explanation and positions.

Reading the reports on the link I posted above, they say that AZT, the primary treatment for AIDS, causes the AIDS symptoms. There is no test for AIDS, only for HIV. Is there really a connection? How does the appearance of symptoms vary between treated and non-treated HIV patients? Do patients exhibit AIDS symptoms without having HIV?

I just feel there is much more to this whole epidemic, and the political maneuvering being done surrounding it.
It reminds me of those cupcakes. I just want to stick a candle in it, make a wish and blow it out!

10 plagues?

Cricket balls smashing store windows = damn big crickets or really fast wind.

I've seen the sky orange like that from forest or brush fires. It's just creepy to see the sky that color. Even if the color change is slight, it still puts a not quite right feeling on everything.

I wish they had shown a couple pics of that guy surfing. It's always nice to see a good wave.
I read this...
"The SES received more than 50 calls for help from residents of Crookwell, near Goulburn, when hail stones "the size of cricket balls" smashed shop windows and damaged roof tiles."

and thought of this...

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

No shit.

I like the list...but it was not Bill Gates.

From the internet...
Microsoft chairman Bill Gates neither wrote the words nor delivered them in a speech to high school students or anyone else. As happens with alarming frequency online, a text written by one person came to be falsely attributed to another and due to endless repetition the attribution stuck and became accepted as fact.

The text itself a pared-down version of an op-ed piece that appeared in the San Diego Union-Tribune on September 19, 1996. It was written by Charles J. Sykes, best known as the author of "Dumbing Down Our Kids: Why American Children Feel Good about Themselves, but Can't Read, Write, or Add." Drastically edited by person(s) unknown, it began making the email rounds under Bill Gates' name in February 2000 and is still, as of this writing in 2005, far more often attributed to Gates than to Sykes - which is unfortunate, but, like the man said: Life isn't fair; get used to it.
That is too funny. There's one guy in there that looks like Garth...

Party on Garth!
Sweet! They are teaching animal husbandry and hypocrisy in one lesson. What a time saver!
I LLLLLike it! It's like the Agent Smith earphone version of the soundtrack!

Reminds me of when I was a wee lad. If only someone had listened to Chef and thrown her a sammich, maybe Karen Carpenter would still be around.
