Great poem Lois. Glad to see you are still writing poetry.
"I love you" on the first date, before we even got back to my place. And yes, I said before we got back to my place. I shouldn't have took her home, but she was hot. lol.
Shrimp Pasta Salad- pasta with chopped green onions, shredded mozarella, chopped mushrooms, shrimp pieces, fresh basil, and light mayo for the dressing.
Since this thread still seems to be drawing the attention of people, I figured it was time for me to update my situation. At least as much as I can. After I posted the question, my friend read it, told me the advice was good and that I should listen to it. My friendship with her got a lot closer than before, maybe partly due to the thread, and just partly due to issues in her life where she needed my support. It got to the point where she said she was coming to see me. And then it ended. She disappeared and I haven't heard from her in over 4 months. No explanation, just gone.
I made the choice that her friendship mattered most to me. And now with her gone, I question everything I did. If I was going to lose her anyway, should I have taken my best shot? In the end, I don't really know what I did to lose her, if I did anything at all, so I don't know whether I would change what I did. I know that I would still tell her how I felt. It helped our communication. Knowing that I was in love with her made her trust me more. She knew I didn't hide anything from her. After my admission, she was more open with me than ever. She asked me for advice with her relationships, and life in general. She was aware that some times she had to take in to mind that my advice was biased, but it worked for us. She knew I always put her needs first, and my desires second.
It's tough to lose someone so important to you. I know that I would do anything to have her friendship back. I guess that's the answer. Despite the fact I still think she was perfect for me, her friendship is what I valued most.
I used to work for a company that gave you a paid day off for your birthday. I thought it was a great idea.
Yeah. Unfortunately the writer left lush, taking her story with her.
This is not an official Lush idea, just my curiosity about how many people would be open to the idea of a lush convention. In my mind, it would probably an annual event where you could get together with the people of lush in real life for the weekend. The location mentioned when I've discussed this with friends is Vegas, but if someone else has a better idea, feel free to share it. I'd also like to hear ideas of what to do for that weekend, if you have them. (Writing workshops, booze, sex toy exhibits, etc) Any and all thoughts on the subject are welcome.
I think in non-violent crime sprees like this, it's easier for the public to be fascinated with, and maybe a little envious of the Barefoot Bandit. For those of us living boring, normal, lives, we can only dream of having an adventure like that. But when the spree is a violent one, then far less people see him as a hero, and instead see him as a menace to society who needs to be stopped.
It's been mentioned in other threads that the government (US, although others often feel the same way too) doesn't seem to care about the average person. So when we see an "average" person refusing to play by the rules, and actually being able to flaunt the rules, and taunt the big bad government, it gives us a little hope, makes us think that maybe we can make the government hear us too.
Or it could just be that it appeals to the child in us. I'm sure all of us have played pirates, robin hood, or even cops and robbers as a kid. This guy is doing it for real, and doing it well.
And considering Robin Hood is an English character, and I'm a Canadian who occasionally roots for the outlaws, I think I can safely say that it's not just an American thing.
As much as I dislike Kobe, I think he's still the better player. Lebron may be the better athlete, but Kobe can actually shoot. The announcement of where Lebron is going is only going to take a minute, if that. What are they going to do for the other 47 minutes of non-commercial time?
On a related note, what do people think of Lebron having a one our special to make his announcement tonight? Is he milking this for all the attention he can get, or is there a valid reason for a one hour tv special?
I think that the Heat will be better off if they don't sign Lebron. I just don't see it working well. There's only one ball. Who gets it in the 4th quarter? Right now, Wade gets it, and has the option to dish to Bosh, which works for both players.
I think the Heat would be far better to add supporting players, rather than another superstar. Look at what happened with Boston. The three superstars won one championship, but Ray Allen just isn't the same as he used to be. He doesn't get to be the man with the ball in his hands, and his game, and confidence suffer because of that. The same thing will happen to one of Wade and Lebron if they are on the same team for an extended period of time.
I think Bosh and Wade with a good supporting cast could win a few championships. That combination works. Bosh is an excellent number two option, and a very good defender. As a Raptors fan, it is sad to see him go, but at the same time, I don't think the Raptors will be that much worse next year. Having a power forward as your number one scoring option just doesn't seem to work in the NBA. Especially without a good shooting supporting cast. If the Raptors can find a way to get rid of Hedo Turkoglu, and build their offence around a team concept rather than just giving it to Bosh and standing around, I think they will be fine. I expect Bargnani to get more looks, and he'll probably average 20 points this year.
Yeah, the dutch looked pretty good today painter. Should be a good final.
Wow. Didn't realise Xuani topless was a thread killer. lol
Being a cancer survivor, I'd probably go with the Canadian Cancer Society, or possibly the Terry Fox Foundation. I did an unsuccessful fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society on the 20th anniversary of when I found out I had cancer. I think I raised $500 for the charity, but I spent $550 putting on the concert. So I should have just wrote a cheque for $550 and never done the concert. The charity would have been $50 better off. Not counting the coverage in the local paper, etc, that they got from it too.
