Is it time to start heckling Nic and the other admin types about when another contest will be upon us? This may be one of my weaker ideas, but would an 'open' category competition interest the competitive writers here at LUSH? Might be best to limit the competition to some of the less frequented categories. Details such as number of categories, word count and other such foolishness would, of course, be a chore for others to figure out. I'm into ideas, not details. ;)

Greetings on this thrusting Thursday. Curvy, a pat on your little punkin' head for the setup you and Big Bertha have provided. However, I am just a tad worried about those missing mugs.

BTW, rumor has it the KC Royals laid a licking on the Detroit Tigers last night. Doughnuts could be in our future.

And in the wide, wide world of Rumplation sanctioned sports, the Big 10 conference will attempt an eight game season beginning in late October. For US college football fans this is a goodness. Everybody else can go out and spend the fall tiptoeing through the tulips or golden rod or your neighborhood toxic waste dump -- don't make me no matter mind.

And in conclusion, on behalf of the management and staff, Rumplations is hereby declared a 'seltzer-free' beer zone. Other than that soulless swill, whadda y'all wanna drink?

Greetings and HUGS along with hoping y'all have a humping good day.

A day or two ago, I was a penitent prose pusher, begging for info about a crime mini-series on the tube adapted from an Elmore Leonard story which several Rumplators had viewed and approved.

Thanks to finally getting something to work on my 'puter which hadn't been , I can now report it was a short story, "Fire in the Hole", part of a nine story collection of Elmore Leonard short stories, "When the Women Come Out To Dance" it is, of course, highly recommended.

Tonya, don't fret about the double setup. Remember, Curvy has something like a five-hour head start on you. ". Besides, it just ups the odds on our getting more breakfast goodies. ;)

And speaking of goodies, it's lunch time out here in the 'Valley of the Sun'. If any brownies are left, one or two would make for a great desert dessert. Anybody need a drink?

PNG, many thanks for the elucidation on the E. Leonard inspired series. The book is a strongly suggested read, as are most of his novels. It could double as a how-to text for aspiring bestselling authors on how to write one of those elusive suckers.

I mean it sounds a whole lot like the finale to one of Elmore 'the Dickens of Detroit' Leonard's novels set in Harlan County Ky and starring a no BS deputy marshall but I can't recall the title. My New Orleans Saints defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today, 34-23 down in the Superdome. Hot boudin will be available for celebratory feasting in the morning.

In light of the flood of quality, last-second contest entries, what about a two-week submission period for the next one? You know, cut to the chase and all that jazz. Just a modest proposal, you understand. ;)

And speaking of the contest, there are now 52 entries, more or less. Seems like about half of those showed up in the last week or two.

BTW, just a reminder that the Chiefs new running back is all of 5' 8" and something a bit over 200 lbs and is both a Louisiana native and a member of last year's (15-0) national champion LSU football team.

BTW #2, there are now 40 contest entries, more or less. The thing is, most of these last-second entries are by top-flight LUSH writers and are mind-boggling good.

Curvy, you and Carl better enjoy the cool snap in y'all's neck of the woods. Something tells me summer will soon return. Just for the record, I have heard of 58f temps but didn't believe it.

Greetings and big HUGS to all. Sorry to be such a downer, but this is a tough day for all sport fans, especially those who follow baseball and teams such as Verbal's belovedMets. The greatest player in the history of the New York Mets, Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Seiver, passed away in his sleep due to complications of dementia and C-19.

I'll spare you a list of his achievements. For those,check out his Wiki page. But for those unfamiliar with Seiver, he was an incredibly great athlete and a class act for the ages. He will be missed. sad

It's a little known fact that Seiver ran a small California vineyard that produce some wines critics judged as good and having promise to get better. Therefore, all wine will be on the house, and or the tab ofJeff. So whadda ya wanna drink?

Chronologically this might be in the cool, cool, cool of the evening except cool ain't got nuttin' to do with the weather in these parts.

Curvy, one beer for our buxom babe. Carl, one's coming for you so Curvy won't have to drink alone. If you see Will, Ping, or Verbal, tell 'em there's a cold bottle for all of them. I'm figuring Curvy can handle five or six guys all by her her own self.
