On Lush, I try to edit some of the more demure parts of my persona out and fill the voids they leave with a bit more confidence and assertiveness regarding my opinions. That's pretty much the only difference, and the more I experience it, the more it seems to equalize between internet and reality.

I'm sure it's been brought up before, but a chat system that's better than a private chat room or the black boxes would be just lovely. I suspect the main reason that this is not done yet is that historically it's been an untenable amount of work, which makes sense, but I bet Google or somebody has an API that can be just plugged in to an existing framework like this. I realize it would still be a huge amount of work, and is probably not that high on the priority list, but I think it would be great nonetheless.
