Why. Why now. Why FUCKING now. I can't do what I want. I don't want to do what I need to. I don't know if I can. I know it will torture me. I'm not sure I could live with myself. It hurts. It all fucking hurts. I'd just like to sink into a ball of non existence now.

I have no idea what you're going through, but maybe I can help. I have always believed that everyone deserves a second chance if it what they truly want. Some things are worth fighting for...If I'm speaking out of turn, ignore and cuss me, but if I'm not I hope I can help with a little perspective. Whatever it is, I wish you nothing but peace. heart

I love to fly...I also don't like delays especially when ya find out it wasn't for the reason they said. Example once when I flew from Chicago to Phoenix I was delayed in Phoenix coming back stating storms in Chicago. Called home and wasn't even raining. DUH!!!!!

Oh, jesus...if I had a dime for every time I've heard that one. Sorry, it hits a nerve with me. Most of the times the storms are in the way of the aircraft's path, not necessarily in the city you are delayed flying in to. "I just talked to my mom and she said it's not raining there..." I always wanna say "oh, so you're mom is a meteorologist, then? Or an air traffic controller? If you ask the agent to look up the weather, they can bring it up and show you the weather. Be nice to the agents on the ground, believe me, they WANT to get you out of there...

I love to fly but I don't like taking off for some reason. I went to Europe this past may and only thing I got concerned about was the connecting flight. Was afraid I would miss it.

Take off has always been my favorite part of flying :-)
In my experience, the people most fearful of flying are those who fly their own private a/c. It's one thing to fly your own plane, having control, etc. But flying commercially scares some, because now it's a feeling of vulnerability. Also, those people who travel A LOT. Some of them get to where they feel it's just a matter of time and eventually lose their nerve to fly.

In my job I've seen this a couple of times, but for the most part the fear of flying is generally universal. Men, women, children anyone in all walks of life can have a terrible fear of flying. It's pretty unnerving to be onboard with someone who is completely wigged out and screaming. Thank God I never had too do this, but if it gets bad enough the F/A's have zip ties and WILL tie your hands and feet if you become a danger to anyone. It's either that or the other passengers will do it. Honestly though, it has to be really bad for this to occur.

Once on a flight from LAS to SLC right after 9/11 a guy on one of our planes (not my flight) freaked out and tried to enter the cockpit. He was so out of control that the other passenger subdued him, and he was pronounced dead on arrival.

I am often complimented on how well behaved and more importantly, how well mannered my children are. People just don't seem to teach their kids even basic manners these days so people are often very pleasantly surprised at mine who have impeccable manners biggrin

It's too bad more people can't say the same. It's so refreshing to meet civilized children, because they turn into civilized adults. Seriously, I wish more parents put an emphasis on teaching their kids manners. Good on you :-)

236 Canadians love their holidays so much, they declared December 26 as Boxing Day.

I celebrate it too, but the rest of the US are butt heads. (JK) but they are (giggles)

This is what we need in the US. It makes complete sense, maybe our new Prez will take a close look at it. I honestly can not imagine why anyone from the US would have an issue with that (well, I can think of one or two, here that would, OP?)

Our health care is not free. In British Columbia and Alberta we pay a premium of about $75/month. Other provinces provide the services strictly from taxes. It is a system Canadians cherish. Sure, the are some horror stories but the most part I can see a doctor quickly and services are fully available. I am lucky in that my work pays for my family's basic health care as well as extended health through Blue Cross. I can claim unlimited massage therapy sessions as well as many other services including dental, physio, prescription eye wear etc. I never take these privileges for granted. I am happy to pay taxes so that everyone benefits equally. Some of the stories we hear from south of the border are terrifying. We always make sure we have extra travel insurance for the US...

Yeah, we are a mess down here. That's really the long and short of why Trump won, I believe. Politicians have screwed us over so badly we were becoming a 3rd world nation with nuclear capacity and lots of debt. I could go on and on. If Bill Gate had run he'd have had a much better reaction, and most likely the popular vote. As it stands now, we have a very corrupt system. Here's to hoping 2017 brings POSITIVE change.

Happy New Year, BTW

That is a great line, but the word "again" is not part of it. Here's the scene.

Without watching the clip, let's see if I remember it right.

"Play it Sam. Play it for me, like you did for her."

Added: I was close, but not quite. I forgot the very best part, and why I loved that movie.

"Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine..."

195. Canada has never possessed any nuclear warhead; at its peak in 1975, the USA possessed 27,500 of them.

And yep, those are the exact same kind of warheads that were launched against Japan in 1945 and that can each destroy an entire city.

I know some patriotic imbeciles from the USA will be tempted to turn that fact to their own merit, but I'd personally much rather live in an overall peaceful country that's well-loved all around the world than a militaristic one that imposes itself as a mindless bully to every other nation.

Awe! Now, why ya gotta be so mean? We're here to talk about how awesome Canada is (One of my points is that Canada is a peaceful nation.)
