*pops head in, spots the dial wasn't in the right place on BB, corrects it and blows a kiss to BB before vanishing in a cloud of butterflies*
Quote by JamesLlewellyn

Hey everyone, do yourself a favour, take three minutes and look at Sara's poem. It is lovely, and entices thoughts beyond her expression. Artfully done, Sara!

And Violet, I do hope you're feeling better! Being under the weather is the pits, for sure! Loved your comp piece, BTW – typical off-the-wall amazing!

Scott - I do hope that we see "Holly's Return" or the equivalent! Yes, you do deserve an RR for that, just sorry you didn't happen into one!

Michelle, lovely to see you here! How's the grudge match between you and the Mulish Muse going, gal?

And Emma, moving 100 miles to live with someone you met on the Internet – now THAT's a story I'd like to see! It seems to have worked out well for you – or is that not the relationship you're in now?

It's clearly time for a Jameson's, and barkeep, I'd like to tap that Reserve stock you laid in if I may?

James I don't know how you can drink the non reserve stuff, we mostly use it to chase away the cold.
At one point my sisters hand in marriage was a regular consignment of 18 year Jameson, but we can't have everything now can we.

Well the muse and I wrestle still, but I seem to be winning. I've got to 3k words in, I'm going to nail the ending 500 words so I know how much room I have for the filling.
If the stars are right I might manage to finish it today and edit the heck out of it tomorrow.
Yes, I know you say edit slow but deadlines is deadlines and a comp story needs time to get the votes needed to get on the grid.

Trione welcome to one of the most incredible place on earth, well I like the vibes from this old place.
James and Carl are our experts on Irish Whiskey, and if you ask very sweetly James sometimes gets out the good stuff.

Since it's a good week I'm keeping a special treat for you degenerates for Friday. Let's just say if you're a whiskey lover it's just about the nicest stuff you can get your hands on and I have a bottle of it to encourage me to write faster.

Elyse I haven't given you nearly enough big squishy hugs, so have a fist full.

Violet I may be forgetting things but don't you have a nurse in the Coven? Might be worth having a word, and trying not to end up on your back screaming in three different languages at once.

I'm struggling with my competition story. Think I'm taking on more than I can handle, especially from the POV I want to do it in. I've ended deleting and retyping several times so it may be one of those I post at a later date.

Emma darling best advice is kick the comp and the deadline out of your head.
Then if it happens to fit the comp theme you can submit it.
I found trying to force the theme on the tale really stifled my flow and frustrated me.
When I kicked the deadline out and just doodled, magic happened.
Oh a lot less then when I was younger but I suspect it's partly psychological and partly just not having g the energy.
I've done it being impaled on 2 strappies and being one of the ones wearing a strappie.
It can be a lot of fun but it needs the right people and you have to be in the right mood.
You really do have to passionately want to throw your dignity out the window and be entirely in the grip of pure primal lust.
Then its one of the most intense, arousing and satisfying experiences possible.
You have to go full throttle or its just so awkward for everyone concerned.
What I'd start with is that there is no one type of man that every woman wants.
Focus on what you HAVE not on what you DON'T.
You have something that not everyone else does.

I'm much more interested in a man who engages my interest and makes me feel better being around them then apa
So don't fret about how rich you are, or how buff you are.
The women who want that already know where to get that.
Go to where you feel most like yourself and see what women naturally go there.

I met my wife in a coffee shop having a conversation about opera.
Our first date was to see the Opera Carmen.

So don't run around trying to be someone you think others want you to be.
Be who you are, go where you feel your most relaxed and confident.
The people you meet there have more in common with you then people you'd try to be what they want.

Also don't treat your youth as a bad thing, some women love having a younger lover and are more then happy to teach them to be amazing lovers.

So chin up and don't be someone else, be you. There's only one of those in the world.

hi everyone
A beautiful day here even though it is a little windy
A large coffee would be great
*Moseying over to my hidey spot and retrieving my donuts and sports page, grabbing my coffee ,heading for the end of the bar and settling down*
Violet hope you feel better

Okay y'all first time in a long time I have a new poem up for your Reading pleasure take a peek if you wish Tiny Dancer https://www.lushstories.com/stories/love-poems/-tiny-dancer-.aspx

Good to see everyone!
Have a fantastic Tuesday everyone!

I was going to suggest that if you have writers block try writing something in a form you don't usually write in.
I found changing perspective did wonders for my writers block.
Bloody well done for turning that around and turning out a poem.
Smart thinking and a total credit to you.
Keep kicking ass and being your fabulous self.
Good morning my lovelies, today I@m hoping to get the creative juices flowing as I dive back into the waters of Hazel Point Creek and tell the wicked story of 2 foolish teens.
Big well done to everyone who has submitted an entry to the competition, or got some work published here.
I'm refusing to read anything by others until I'm finished my work, I run the risk of either getting distracted from where I wanted to go or half convincing myself not to continue and finish the story.
Remember you're all beautiful people, you're all worthy of being loved and of loving another, and if store room 3 hasn't exploded by now a generous measure of Apple brandy.
Strictly for medicinal purposes, like it's a Tuesday or you're feeling thirsty.
Had to ditch my first attempt as I just couldn't find a way to add Fool into it without making it clunky.
So version 2 is being assembled, 2k words down and I've got the frame sketched in, now to add the sauce.
There are times I wish I had the Roget's online thesaurus with me, but Prof Google helps in a pinch.
Be extra kind to each other and Goddess willing we're all going to produce work we're at least partially proud of.
ONWARD!!!!
Good morning all, I hear this weekend is a bank holiday one so I'm slightly frantic trying to get the tale done before the weekend rolls around and makes it impossible to meet the bar.
Be kind and be patient my lovely Lushies, there's going to be a lot of cranky people about when the final count down kicks in.

As for me, don't bother brewing the damn beans just throw them in chocolate and give me a bag of them. I'm trying to run the engines at full power so Goddess help me if I start drooling, foaming at the mouth or speaking in tongues.
Good morning my lovelies, the Goddess smiles on Her humble servant today. The muse has been made to behave and the words flow as easily as sand between the fingers.

Congrats Miss Soleil, on your exam. I know they can be a pain to sit through but we all knew you'd come through with flying colours.
Have a properly wonderful weekend and celebrate your achievement.

Carl my dear friend, so lovely to see your smiling face around here again. Thank you for letting us see No Name, and his delightful blue harness.
I must say a convertible like that suits you nicely. Is that perhaps a Mercedes Benz? The leather trim reminds me of my fathers current ride.

James my dear, you've done wonders to keep the place together while I was away. I see the muse has been extremely kind to you lately you're producing pure gold from your pencil these days. Keep it up.

Elyse, I must be shamefully behind in squishy hugs these days so have a few more to make up for it.

Bill our dear and ever patient Host. I'm beyond thrilled to hear you're entering this competition, to show us punks how a real expert does it.
May the muse be ever kind and the Goddess smile on your efforts. Be well and be safe most precious one. After all what is Rumps, without the Legendary Rump himself to show us just what a iconic fellow he is. This humble bartender is always inspired to continue to fight the blank page when I know you're in the next trench battling away too.

Alala! Alala! My fellow scribes, let's stomp that prose under our pencils and show it who is the boss here.

Curvy it's one of the great pleasures in life to see you where you truly belong, among us wretched souls adding a touch of class and elegance to our world. May you always be there to show us how a Lady can enhance the lives of those who get to see her natural Grace.
Oh Goddess give me Patience, I clear 3 hours in my schedule to write and not a single bloody word appears.
Sometimes I could eat the fucking pencil.
Bitch of a muse is just out of reach, not so out of reach I can give up.
Oh no. Just an inch away from my outstretched fingertips, but just that critical inch.
I can almost see the words appear and when I try to write them. Nothing.
When I stop trying it floats again.
Tantric fucking writing.
I'm off to suck my thumb and sulk for a while.
I'm just fed up.
Hello you lovely people, this week has not entirely gone to plan but I am 580 words further along then I was at the start of the week.
Not my most productive but I'm confident I can get something bashed out in time for the comp.

A huge well done to all who got on the grid, I'm still getting putting the car parts together.
The big bass speakers go inside the shell not outside right?
Hello my darlings, I've been a little busy this week. There are times I swear I'm the Oracle of Delphi, some of the things I've had thrown at me to sort out.
Fortunately I have a particularly knack for pulling rabbits out of hats and remembering dust old tricks for keeping the machines running.
The muse has been kind and been whispering a juicy little story line to me, so I'm hoping to have something to submit for this months comp.
I hope you're all being kind to each other, and giving Elyse lots of big squishy hugs.
I might forget my manners and start turning people into frogs if they start being mean.
Well my dears, I hope you're all feeling a little more yourselves today.
I know life can knock us on our ass sometimes, but there is always another day. There is always Luna to remind us that Hope endures even when we don't feel we can grasp it.
I've had my wrestles with my own darker aspects and for now I'm in a happier place, I'm refusing to listen to that nasty voice that wants to put me down and I'm taking more active control of my life.

So a short little wish for you all. May the Goddess shine Her Light on you all, wrap you in Her arms when you feel too fragile to face the world, fill your heart with Love when you doubt your purpose in this world and remind you always that Life moves in cycles just like nature. That in good times and bad there is beauty in this world and it's far too precious to give up appreciating the many gifts we have in our lives.
Be well, be safe, always be yourselves.
Haven't seen you in simply ages DD. May the Goddess bless you and the lovely Gracie, keep you both safe and keep that bed of yours just the right temperature for lots of fun.
Blows a kiss to you both.
Good morning my lovely Lushies, I've been a very busy girl this week getting things sorted at work and upgrading my home office. I've the bones of a story for the comp being sketched out, so hopefully next week I'm going to get some serious wordage down on paper.

Because I've been away so long I Will pick up the tab for todays drinks, remember if you get too greedy there is a chance you might get cursed for it so play nice.

Elyse my dear, I try to leave news on my profile when I'm going away so people don't fret so. I'm not the kind of girl to just vanish my dear, keep your head and keep smiling.
If the world seems scary, just wrap your red towel around your shoulders, grip your broom and give a little war cry. You're always in my thoughts, and prayers my dear. Don't let the world ever stop you being your lovely self.

Bill my dear, you have wonderful taste in books if you're recommending Mister Pratchett, they only get better the further along he goes. I think he has a clearer idea of what he wants the world to be like and takes us with us. If there's any justice he's in Lancre, without the embuggerance having a cocktail and listening to Nanny Ogg sing some of her finest songs.
May your tankard never be empty, your voice never be cracked, and your audience appreciate your singing talents.

Honestly the mess about this place.

Dryad, get this place cleaned up, anything with a pulse can stay where it is, the bar glasses get washed, the empties and the rubble get sent to the Glade. Clarice needs feeding again and if she doesn't get enough minerals she gets very grumpy.
Oh the trials of a modern Witch trying to keep a Glade enchanted and her elemental attendants properly cared for. Goddess give me Patience not to whack them with my crop.

I brought a plate of Portuguese custard tarts and apple doughnuts, do keep 2 for DD and Gracie. I'd hate for Gracie to have to face the world without a proper pastry to keep her going.
She did say she was late yesterday, I do hope that's more late for being here or possibly work and not a more personal issue for a lady.

Blowing lots of kisses, sending big squishy hugs and encouraging cheers for those of you working on the competition this month.
Be well, be safe, and be happy my darlings.

With that, time to get back to the Glade for a bit. Toodles.
Welcome to our newest arrival. I hope you enjoy your time with us.
Some find their way to the chatrooms and there's a thriving community down there. Full of fun people, who really like to help new arrivals find their way around the maze.
Some come to read the sauciest tales on the web, I highly recommend the competition entries, whatever the theme they're always top notch.
Some come to post on the forums, and I'm certainly one of those. They're a great way to let off steam and get to know your fellow lushies.
Some come to write and share their work here too.

I highly recommend if you're a writer you pop over to the Pub forum and Rumps bar. I tend bar there sometimes and it's full of writers and the people who love them.
However you want to start your journey in Lushland, take your time, enjoy yourself and don't be shy. We're a friendly bunch and we really do like to see new faces out here.
Aside from possibly the admin team, we were all new arrivals at some point and had to find our way.

Struts into the bar, blowing kisses as she gets to the bar.
Empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for Carl and the caffeine junkies. Refills with some Hawaiian roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.
Places a soft kiss on BB, and polishes her nozzle for being a good...coffee maker.
Cleans out the big kettle and refills it, setting it to boil.

Switches the sign from The Witch is OUT to IN.
Wiggles fingers and summons a dryad to get the washing up done, while a second whirls round the room driving all the rubbish into a pile, before feeding it to an earth elemental.

Good heavens what a week. I've been buried in work, and I have to keep an eye out for my home office kit that's being delivered.
The joys of being a contractor I'm allowed to get a proper set of equipment instead of squinting at my aging kit.
My new wireless headset makes being on tedious calls a lot less of a bore, I can mute myself and work out while I'm there.
I just hope they don't ask me a question and wonder why I'm breathless.

Laffs.

My dryad tells me there's been lots of submissions for the writing comp this month, if you're sitting on the fence wondering if you should give it a try please enter.
You can tell yourself you aren't going to win, but I find just getting my comp badge gives me a real sense of achievement and when I start to doubt I can actually write they do prove that I sometimes can hit the target.
So get your pencils out, sharpen them up and put some words on paper. Nobody expects you to be Hemingway, but if you don't enter you don't know what you're capable of.

Big squishy hugs for Elyse and everyone who needs them.

I'm woefully behind on what's been going on in Rumps so do let me know if there's something I need to get the dryad to tell me about.
A Blade runner era Sean Young, and Emma Stone. oh Goddess make it happen.
Struts into the bar, blowing kisses as she gets to the bar.
Empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for the real caffeine fans. Refills with some Italian roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.
Blows a kiss to BB and gives her a comforting pat for being a good...coffee maker.
Cleans out the big kettle and refills it, setting it to boil.

Places a tray of hazelnut and chocolate croissants on the bar.

Well my darlings, it's been a while since I was properly behind this bar.

I see we have new faces, welcome Carmel.
There's another competition taking place, it seems only yesterday we were battling to get Valentines poems submitted and now we're back to smut. Life ever moves in cycles and so does lush it seems.

My dryad tells me that there are lots of new stories to read, that you lot have been busy scribbling away.

James, being your charming, handsome, friendly self as always. I wonder how many confused minds you've soothed with that easy charm of yours.

Elyse hello my dear, good to hear you're a happy soul once again. I do miss that joyful voice of yours when I'm away.

Kimmi back for more depravity and drunken antics, always lovely to see you with us my dear. If only because it keeps James on his toes.

Bill our dear and ever patient host. Sometimes I wonder how you and your faithful shadows Coma & Tose manage to keep up with all the antics out here. We are forever in your debt, in my case quite literally. Which utter bastard put 2 cases of Jamesons on my bar bill??

Honestly you step away from tending the bar for a few days and some scoundrel has messed up the accounting on the bar tabs.
Hang on, that looks like a hoof mark on that stub, now who do I know that has horses and drinks Jamesons.
I guess it's going to be one of those mysteries, that never get solved.
Popping by to say hi folks. Big squishy hugs to all who want them.
I'm taking it one day at a time at the moment.
Some days I feel I can do anything like when I smashed up my shed, a real Thor moment swinging that hammer around.
Some days I have to force myself to do simple things like eat because otherwise I forget to do it.
Most of the ones I called my friend outsude here haven't really been in contact much, perhaps the ties that bind are looser then I thought. Though more likely they're busy as all heck and I'm just down the running order a bit. It does make me feel like the last remnant of a forgotten age.

My muse is still silent, far beyond the stars where I can't feel her and all I can do is wait for her return.

My relationship with my wife is like an accordion sometimes so close and others far apart. That damned instrument moves almost by it's own will and I never know where along its journey it is until something comes up to show me.

Still I have my Faith to give me strength to stand, Luna's silvery light to give me Hope that perhaps tomorrow will be better.
Be kind to yourselves and each other, we are far more fragile then we would want to be.
Be gentle and soon this will pass, the world will return to a new normality and we will rush to embrace the change.

Be well and be safe my dears.

I'm off to sit in my garden, listen to the bees buzz, soak up the morning sun and rekindle some light in this weary heart.
Kimmi my dear I know you're passing through so thought I'd bring you three little gifts while I could catch you.

The first of these is my boots. They're not a slinky pair of heels, but when you need them they do what needs doing.
I've worn mine up the sides of a mountain, across muddy fields, over sandy beaches, through a forest and along an awful lot of winding country roads.
The tread on the sole will grip in the wet, the mud, slippery lichen and even sea weed.
When you need to get somewhere they're a great friend. Distance is no obstacle to them, they're waterproof, and if you have to fight something off they leave a nasty bruise when you kick them.
Boots are underrated but they're like a good friend. They are always there, you can depend on them, they get the job done, and when you really need them they see things through to the end.

The second gift is a belt a dear friend gave me made in stout leather, embossed inside with a figure on the ground being pulled to its feet by two other figures. A good belt will hold up your trousers, give you a waist if you're wearing a dress, and let you carry stuff. I've tied water bottles to mine, pouches for ritual ingredients, a waterproof poncho at a festival. A belt can carry many things.
The belt symbolises those times you need someone you help you to your feet, to hold you up when you don't think you have strength to stand and the tightness of it reminds you of the arms of those who love you giving you a big hug. Sometimes a belt is just a belt, and sometimes it's the world sitting around your waist keeping you going.

The third is a walking staff. Mine was made by a druid in Galway, from good solid Irish oak.
Symbols have been carved into it, lots of Celtic knot-work, an owl on the top, a circle of stars around the middle and symbols for the seasons around the base. A good staff can make hiking up hill easier, help you cross a puddle or a stream, push back branches or brambles, shoo away animals, knock fruit from trees, put something on or take something off a fire and you can even lean on it to catch your breath.
It reminds you that the simple things in life can be the most precious.

Now normally I dedicate my gear to my Goddess to help me serve Her will in all things, however you may need something else so I have a different blessing for you.

The boots are dedicated to Hekate, Queen of darkness, Protector of Witches, and Keeper of Junctions.
By Her Will, may no obstacle keep you when you wear these boots. No flood so deep, no wall so high, no road so long that you cannot get to where you wish to be. Blessed be.

The belt is dedicated to Hera, Queen of the Gods, Protector of Mothers and Married Women. May the belt be like a Mothers heart, as patient as a heron, as enduring as an oak tree, and with endless love.
When life knocks you on your ass, may She pull you to your feet and remind you that Mothers like oak trees are tougher then you'd ever imagine. Blessed be.

The staff is dedicated to Athena, Queen of Wisdom, Justice and Protection. May the staff remind you that there are many ways a Wise Woman can use her staff, that you can be by yourself without being alone and you have as many friends who love you as there are knots carved in the wood. Blessed be.

Three is a special number to a Witch, the Threefold Rule applies in so many things.
I give three gifts, I bless with three Goddesses, and I give you three loving hugs to stand for the countless others who would hold you in their arms if you ever need them to.

Oh Mighty Goddesses may it please You to grant these humble requests. That the one who carries these items may properly honour Your names and most precious blessings.
Blessed ever be.

Now you have something to make the road a slightly easier place to be, and a few small gifts to remind you how loved you are.
Be well, be safe, and be you.

Hi Rumpies!

Just poppin in to vent. Everything keeps hitting hard. I had 2 good days then got more upsetting news this afternoon. Mom has suddenly taken a worse turn. The Memory Care staff thinks she may be at the end. Hardest thing ever for me to watch. Today she won't get out of bed or respond. Hoping she's somehow better tmrw.

Anyways, a hot cocoa please to help me sleep. Hope you all are fairing better in this thing called life. Sorry for the sad face. I am trying to find joy and be grateful for things, just hard lately. I know these things are part of life. I have always been sensitive. Trying to regroup ... Lush is a good distraction for me

So sorry to hear that dear Kimmi.
All things move in cycles, and things will change for the better.
At least it's what I tell myself when I find myself flat on my back, without the strength to crawl let alone stand.
When life knock you on your ass, sometimes it's all you can do till you find the strength to pick yourself up and get on your feet.
You are always in my thoughts and prayers, sending sympathy, comfort and much love.
Have a big squishy hug to help you face the world.
