Very well done Kat. You're an amazing writer and a wonderful human being. Outstanding work.
Dang and I thought it was a discussion on the Caitlin Moran book How to be a Woman.
Now I feel soo stupid.

Now, as for Michelle…well, that's a story. First, she's a witch, and I don't mean that in a derogatory sense. She really is a witch. Second she is hardly what I would call sweet. Amazingly strong, forceful, accomplished, helpful, supportive; all of that, but sweet? I don't think so.

Oh, and she's a Domina who likes little girls like you. A LOT! So, don't say I didn't warn you…

And she's also a very close friend whom I love and adore, so, much as I like you, Rayne, cross her and you cross me. Just sayin'…

James you really do make me sound like the Big Bad Wolf in a dress sometimes. You almost make it sound like I should be on a register somewhere.
Granted I probably am somewhere but nothing a little Hex can't fix.

Well, last week I had a nightmare about being accused of murdering Jane and I'm still sort of shaken by it. I've never been happier that it was only a dream but sometimes I worry that I'm going to have the nightmare again.

...and if something really did happen to her, I...I wouldn't be able to handle it.

Elyse my dear, that's a horrible dream. I used to get terrible nightmares as a child, and my grandfather taught me a trick he used to get rid of his nightmares. Just say aloud "No I'm not having it" and snap your fingers. Your mind knows what you mean and the dream will change. It works for me when I get them, and they don't trouble me for the rest of the night when I bounce a few of them.

Nature is a wonderful salve for a hurting mind, at least it works for me and it seems to work for a few others here too.
I'm feeling much better for taking a break, mind you the increased light levels and the fact I can pootle about in the garden didn't hurt either.
I also found taking a moment to properly look at how I'm spending my time and energy to be very therapeutic.
When you see the ways you're investing time and energy, it's amazing the dead end things you find you're carrying with you.
I cut several of those dead ends from my life, individually they weren't taking up that much but as a group they sure gave me back a lot more time and energy to spend on the things I really get something back from.
So put down your pencil, take a moment in the sunshine and see where you're putting your energy. Some things you can't change, but others you can certainly tweak or cull.
I found taking an active step towards managing my time made me feel less like I'm passively responding to some kind of tide I can't control.
When I started taking stock of things, I felt empowered again, and that helped me to make better choices about my life.
I still haven't started writing again but I'm not beating myself up over it, or feeling like I don't have the same level of talent others have.

I'm just taking it slow, waiting for the muse to find me when she's ready, and just enjoying the journey instead of being fixated on hitting targets or getting to a destination.
Big warm hugs to you all. I know life can be hard at times, but you're not alone on your travels. Don't keep your emotions bottled up, share them, even if it's just here.

Be well and be safe my darlings. Always.
goodness gracious, a piano fell through the ceiling. James and Rach having a handbag fight.
Good heavens what bedlam is going on.

Elyse my dear sister, come sit on my lap and tell me all your troubles.

James you're a brave man to have that dance with Rach, you do know she does kickboxing right. I have a feeling she'd kick my ass with ease, mind you it's been a while since I've been sparring so I'm rusty as all heck.

Tonya Thank you for getting BB all fixed up. I will put you in my prayers, that your headaches will go away or at least you will know the cause. Enjoy your spring, dancing with your littley in the warm sunshine.

Lucky Big squishy hugs, I'm sure the zoo will open again soon and you will be able to be with those beloved animals. You have come so far, that the end is closer then you imagine. Be kind to yourself, be gentle too and before you know it you're going to be walking through the zoo gates.

Bill I think we might need to fix the ceiling, if pianos are going to drop through the ceiling like that. You can get a roofer in or I can see if one of the earth elementals wants to grow over the roof and seal the holes. It will mean the roof demands to be fed, eats pigeons, and just might join in with the singing on karaoke nights.
Yes I know most of the time people are posting their birthdays but I thought I'd try something a little different.

The Equinox is a special time of year, when the chill of winter gives way to the warmth of spring.
Oh Goddess thank You for the gift of this new season, when light returns to our skies once again.
When the sap rises in the plants around us and many creatures heed the increased warmth by breeding again.
Teach us to feel the power of Life flowing through our veins, relight the fires of our hearts that we may walk with joyful steps. Remind us to reach out to each other, to sing Your name with Love as Your children. That Life renews its power, that which slumbered through the winter now returns full of vigour.

Teach us that Love should be our watchword, our guiding principle and Your greatest gift to us. Let us sing our thanks for Your many gifts and dance with joy at this time of renewal.

Shine Your Light upon Your children Goddess, for we are fragile mortal beings and need Your Light and Love.
Teach us that if we embrace each other as kin, stand as one people, sing in ever tongue of Your Wonder, that we can remake this world into the paradise it could become.
All things were, are, and ever will be according to Your Will oh Goddess. Blessed ever be.

Thank You Luna for the gift of Your wondrous Light on the 28th. That we can start our new season with the beacon of Your Hope in the night sky. Let us never be truly alone if we have Your light above us in the skies. Be ever with us radiant Luna, grant us Hope in our darkest moments, be our truest friend when we are alone, dance with us in our joyful moments.
That You are always with us, in that celestial compact. May Your daughters be ever with us, to teach us that Hope is a Cardinal Virtue and should always be celebrated.
As You wax and wane, remind us that all things move in cycles and that there is always Hope. That the Light returns, that Life will endure, that together we are far stronger then we imagine.
Shine on my beautiful Guide, keep me ever on my Path, grant us Your Light to resist the lure of the Dark and return once again to the Light.

Walks into the bar, bronze armour clinking, leather straps creaking, and a slow heavy tap from the base of the spear on the floor.
Pulls the face plate of the helm up and looks around squinting.
Tuts at the sight of the rubbish strewn floor, and what looks like a broom strapped to the ceiling.

Golly there's a lot more light in there then there was in the labyrinth.
I don't think I'm quite ready to tend bar at the moment but I thought it a good time to see what you messers have been up to in my absence.

Elyse I do hope things are going wonderfully well you my dear, and you're getting loads of squishy hugs, because you do give the best ones.

James Is that rattling noise coming from BB the result of you refilling her? It doesn't sound like the noise she makes when really cranky, so I think you've got her running nicely. Well done. Any idea why the broom is on the ceiling.

Makes a complicated gesture in the air and snaps fingers causing the broom to float down from the ceiling, hovering in front of her.

Naughy people put you on the ceiling eh, poor broom. Where's your dryad?

Thumps the base of the spear on the floor a few times and gives a piercing cry, a female figure with barklike skin, green eyes, and vines for hair appears. It looks surprised and a little fearful of the one who called it.

Dryad, this bar is a mess. I thought I gave you orders to help keep it in order. The Glade compost heaps need feeding again. Anything with a pulse leave it here, everything else gets shipped home for processing.
Now hop to it before I report you to the Queen for breaking the terms of your pact.

The figure rushes around the bar, leaving a trail of blossom and leaves behind it. The broom floats after it, sweeping debris into neat piles. In a few minutes all the rubbish had been gathered into piles and were being shoveled into a hollow mushroom for return home.

Honestly the things that happen when I'm not here to keep things in order.
I've been feeling my Dark growing stronger over the last few weeks, and I don't like that feeling.
I'm much less the cheery, silly, friendly soul I want to be and becoming more grumpy, prone to snapping at people, and feeling I'm trying to drive with the hand brake on, and the gear in Neutral.
I'm going to take a break from the digital world until after the Equinox.
I'm going to blow the Dark out of my head with long walks, gardening, some little projects around the house and meditation in the garden.
All of life moves in cycles, this situation will run its course and I will cycle out of it again to be a stronger person for facing it.
Be kind to yourselves and to each other, we are all fragile beings that need Love and Compassion to get through these trying times. May the Goddess watch over you all and keep you ever safe from the Dark.
All things were, are and ever will be according to Your Will oh Goddess. Most Blessed be.

Big squishy hugs to you all.
Be well and be safe.

Blows a kiss to BB and wipes down the bar one last time.
Switches the sign from The Witch is IN toOUT .
Slips out from behind the bar and blows a kiss to Bill

Well my lovelies, I'm going to be taking a break from the online world until after the Equinox.
Lately I've been feeling my Dark growing stronger, and I need to take some time to properly deal with it so it doesn't make me do something I'm going to regret when I come through this moment of turbulence.

Be kind to yourself, and each other. Remember that we're all feeling fragile at the moment, things we'd normally shake off without a thought are able to cut us.

Spring is coming and with it the promise of new life, and longer days to enjoy the great out doors.

Stand together, laugh together and when you can help one another back to their feet. The one you pull from the floor today, could be the one who pulls you to your feet another day.

Look after Elyse and Terance while I'm away.

I go to walk the labyrinth and face my Minotaur.

Goddess be with me on this march, and keep you all in Her Light.
All things were, are and ever will be according to Your Will, oh Goddess. Most Blessed be.

Skald out.

Maybe it's just me being a silly goose but I can't find anything when I use the forum search function.
I was trying to find the Project SemiColon thread and I can't find it.

Anyone else seeing blanks when they search?

Welcome to Casa Lush,
Some people join for the forums, and have a wonderful time on them. The Think Tank is a little tough the first time you visit, but the natives aren't too rough.
There's lots of silly antics in the game section too, especially if you want to get your post count up for any reason.
There's the pub, home of Rumps where I tend bar from time to time. Full of writers, and the people who want to hang out with them. As a new writer it's a great place to network, and hang out.
We're a friendly bunch too, so do pop round and visit.

There's the chatroom folks, who are busy, friendly, chatty , flirty and lots of fun. Take the plunge and check them out, highly recommended.
Some people are here exclusively for that chat circuit, and they're a lively community.

Then we have the story section, packed full of filthy tales for almost every taste and the regular competitions make for great reading. The theme is set in advance and the writers have to show off their skills within a tight framework. Some of the things they can do with their word count will make your head spin. If you like something do vote and leave a comment, us struggling scribes need all the feedback we can get from our readership.

As a fellow writer we have a small writers group to help rookies get their first few stories published. Sometimes it helps to share your ideas and the things you're working on with other writers.

It's always great to see another new writer join us.

Michelle, I think that's a MARVELLOUS idea. Then I'd know when it was safe to feel you up!

I mean, it might give some of the other barflies here ideas. (cough, cough)

Morning all! Off to practice yoga for an hour, ending with a five-minute headstand. Somehow, it makes the world look better, even if I don't.

(I don't think I'd better ask Michelle for spring water this morning. She has that look in her eye…)

(p.s. The $20 was an opening bid, Michelle…interested?)

1 water coming right up.

11 days to go before Equinox and a very exciting event for the Circle.

Enjoy your yoga, you mischievous devil you.

Hi all

Have a wonderful day.... pulling up a chair in the corner

Blows a kiss.

I think I have a croissant with raspberry filling if you'd like one.
A dear friend of mine gave me a little word of advice when I mentioned I was going to try writing.

1. Don't put yourself in your characters, that way you can play with how they respond to the world and allow them to be so much different to how you'd see the world that you can explore the world in whole new ways.
It also means if others don't feel the same about your characters as you do, that you don't feel personally slighted.

2. The only cardinal sin for a writer is to bore the reader. If you make me feel anything else it's a win for you. That means your work made an impression that lasted more then the time it took to read the story.
The more powerful the sense of engagement the reader feels when reading your work, the more emotionally invested they are in your world the better the story you're telling.

If someone wants to read your work and react in overly emotional ways there's not a damn thing you can do about that.

Put it this way my mechanic is responsible for the oily bits under hood of my car. How I chose to operate the vehicle is entirely my problem and there's not a damn thing he can do about that.

I've had work get very negative comments, and I just switched comments and votes off for a while until the heat went down.

Michelle's in deep medication…or dead drunk, I'm not sure which. Let me help you with that… a double Woodford Reserve, neat. And a second one as a chaser. Can't be too careful in cases like this. I'll put it on your tab, shall I? I'll just warn you…Michelle has an, um, unique way of collecting. Hanging upside down from a broom at 2,000 feet tends to change your priorities real fast!

James, don't go giving away all my little secrets. Besides I only turned you upside down and had you patted down by an elemental.
Granted it was an air elemental and it was made using the steam from BB so it might have been a tiny bit warm but certainly nothing to protest so much about.

I really must get a sign to hang round my neck that says "I aten't drunk." for those moments when I'm momentarily out of my body.

face plants on bar Drink please!
This parenting thing is not for pussies. Sooooo hard.
Insurance decided to total my son's car. I decided to not rush to ATL to help and thought it would be good for him to try to buy a car on his own. I encouraged him to research a good used car in his price range. He found one. Bought it today. Set up insurance. Negotiated and filled out all paperwork/payment on own. And on way home from car lot, the car died. Had to be towed to auto shop. He is beyond upset. He called dealer and they basically said he bought it, his to deal with now. And I feel guilty I wasn't there. Did they see inexperienced car buyer and sell him a known lemon? Would I have noticed something wrong? He said it was fine on the test drive. Hope to God it doesn't have a bad engine.

Leave the bottle please....

Kimmi best advice I can give is what my dad gave us all when we bought our first cars.
If you don't know a lot about cars, look for a warranty, if it doesn't come with a warranty get the AAA to check it out.
A mechanic can say just about anything about a car, the dealer may be unwilling to budge.
Put an AAA headed vehicle report under their nose and they usually blink.
That's the kind of stuff an insurance claimer looks for before they pay out, so if the AAA say the car is busted and it was busted when it was sold that's the dealers fault.

Depending on how much is actually wrong with the car you can push for them to foot the repair bill or mention you're prepared to sue them for your money back. The dodgy guys in the used car business don't want to have their day in court because it's bad for business, lots of people might hear about this case and remember the money pit rusting on their drive way and follow along with their own papers.

I know when I bought my first car many moons ago, we had I think a month to run the thing to make sure it worked, if it suddenly went pop for a busted engine during that timeframe it was clearly not fit for purchase and the dealer had to cough up.

I bought my first car on a credit card so if there was ever a problem with getting my money back the dinosaur in the polyester suit could fight with the bank and not me.

As the resident bar tender, I can only offer a big hug , a lovely cuppa : and if needed
A loud snoring can be heard from behind the bar, and a stream of garbled dirty talk in familiar voice.

Oh I thought it would be bigger then that. You can call it 12 inches but I'm very underwhelmed if I'm honest.

Clang.

Bloody hell, what did I hit my head off. Micholb lite, oh dear this must be the under under side of the bar. Where booze goes to be quietly forgotten.

With a lot of groaning struggles to stand and peers over the top of the bar.

Gah! Terence what are you looking at? Oh yeah you did teach me a few dance moves, it had bloody better not have been you trying to tickle me awake young spider or you're going to be properly introduced the underside of my boot.
What's that. Oh it was James, that does explain the nipple tweak and the 20 dollar bill in my cleavage.
Ta James.

Empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for Carl and the caffeine junkies. Refills with some Eritrean roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.
Gives BB a loving polish and sings to it happily for a few moments.
Cleans out the big kettle and refills it, setting it to boil.

Looks at the scorched surface on the Witch sign and sighs.

Switches the sign from The Witch is OUT to IN.
Wiggles fingers and summons a dryad to get the washing up done, while a second whirls round the room driving all the rubbish into a pile, before feeding it to an earth elemental.

Bloody heck, have I been under there long?
I remember having a tasting party for potion batch number 12 , then something about a mushroom omelette. It was a little odd though.
What? We don't have a kitchen and those weren't field mushrooms but something growing on the back door frame.
Oh dear, that does explain things.
Still doesn't explain why I've been trying to do a strange version of the Macarena set to a Tango beat.
Really? Terence does have hidden talents being a choreographer, damn catchy thing too.

Right you animals, and of course our executive branch Coma, Tose and Bill.

What can I Get you lovelies.

Xander, I've been there, done that, bought the t-short about 16 times, and worn them all out.

You'll be better off calling and asking than torturing yourself about whether she'll say no.

She's probably sitting by the phone, jittering, and wondering why you haven't called her yet.

Try it my friend. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

THIS!!! Very much this!

This isn't me both missing my girlfriend and being nervous to call her for the first time later.

Except it is, I am, and I really hope I don't go all speechless.

Elyse my dear, I'm so happy for you.
Do call her and let her know how you feel, everybody likes to know they're important to their lover.
Struts into the bar, blowing kisses as she gets to the bar.
Empties Big Bertha, keeping the sludge for Carl and the caffeine junkies. Refills with some Hawaiian roast beans, and lots of mountain fresh water.
Places a soft kiss on BB, and polishes her nozzle for being a good...coffee maker.
Cleans out the big kettle and refills it, setting it to boil.

Switches the sign from The Witch is OUT to IN.
Wiggles fingers and summons a dryad to get the washing up done, while a second whirls round the room driving all the rubbish into a pile, before feeding it to an earth elemental.

Good morning my drunken animals, I hope life is going well for you all.
Good morning you beautiful people. Who knew all I needed was the traditional breakfast roll to recover my strength.
Yes it does have enough saturated fat in it to stop a bison, but half the buildings and roads in the country were build by people who started their working day with this stuff.

Happy International Womens Day!!
Purple is the colour of the day, and that's as close as I can find.
I'm wearing a purple scarf around my neck to keep the tone of the day.

Hope you're all feeling marvelous.

Kimmi , you are always in my prayers. You aren't going through this alone, we're all here to help, even if it's just by listening to you, giving you supportive hugs and keeping the flow of hot chocolate moving.

Emma that is the face a lot of parents are making today when the kiddies have gone back to school and the level of ambient noise has dropped below a heavy metal festival concert. Listen to your Intuition and do what makes you feel darn good. You deserve it.

Bill hearing you getting angry with me over not letting you have a piece of my... chicken. I'm famous for my thighs you know, oh the things I can do with them. Maybe sometime I will let you have the recipe.

Tonya you my dear are a life saver for getting BB in operation again. Honestly she goes through so much coffee these days it's scary.
Big warm hugs for everything you do. I like your style in making littley write lines for being naughty, a creative way to teach a point. It's also the perfect way for dealing with a brat.

Morning all. Hope everyone’s day is off to a fantastic start. Can I get a hot tea please?

1 tea coming right up
:
Pops up from behind the bar , an impressive collection of bottle tops caught in her hair.
On autopilot refills Big Bertha and sends a cup full of steaming coffee across the bar.

Ye Gods but my head hurts. A gut full of fried chicken and half a bottle of rum.
No loud noises folks or my head might fall off.
Happy birthday Lilly. I'm shockingly late but I hope you had a truly wonderful day and had far too much fun.
