Hope everyone has a good day.

Stay safe Emma and have a wonderful day. Sending lots of warm wishes.
I'm nervous enough Carl I don't need to listen for the flap of a Furies wings just yet.
Quote by JamesLlewellyn

Morning, Your Curvaciousness. Always a joy to be in your presence.

Morning, Bill, Susie (if I may be so bold), Martin – good to see you all.

Martin your story makes my blood run cold. "Desperate times makes desperate people." Don't let the Kossaks get you down.

Anyone seen Tonya, Emma, or that mad Skald, Michelle, yet?

Just tea for me this morning, please William. Work day and all. I'll circle back to see if Carl's left any Jameson's later.

Take care, all! It's dangerous out there.

James

I just got here, and I'm already in dire need of a doughnut and some coffee.

I brought a case of Jameson with me, I figured you and Carl needed something to celebrate a budding bromance.
From the few interactions I've had with the writing mods they must have the Wisdom of Solomon, the Patience of a Saint, the Courage of a Spartan , the Tact of a Diplomat and the sharp eyes of a Surgeon.
To each and every one of you who are involved in the process of verifying all the stories we submit, you're all outstanding people and even from this remove. Thank you for the huge amount of hard work you put into keeping this wonderful site running and keeping us writers on our toes.
As a new writer here still grappling with getting my first tale verified, I found asking someone who has gotten stuff verified to read your tale and let you know if it works.
Sometimes we're so close the work we can't see the imperfections and flaws.
Getting feedback can be bruising but I'm hoping it makes me a better writer. Best of luck getting your first tale verified, I'm sure it will be a proper sizzler.
I've been wrestling with getting my first story verified and have been going through reformatting it to meet the standard.
I thought it might be helpful to ask the boneheaded question.
Is there a tool or anything to help a new writer actually put the mess of words into the good clean format?

So far I'm running mine through Grammarly, the inbuilt checker on the board, and through the wonderfully unhelpful Microsoft Word.
I just want to find the easiest way to make sure when I submit something, that it's laid out the way it needs to be to make it as easy as possible for a reader to check it for errors.
I can't be the only new writer grappling with this, some how do my fellow new starters get over that first fence and get something verified?

Maybe you will like this tune

Atreyu ... House Of Gold

That is some tune makes me think of Agnes and our work building the Circle, so a group of scared lonely Solitaires could find comfort in something larger then themselves. Peace, Friendship and Acceptance which is a hard thing when you're not part of a Tradition.

Roar you big beautiful lion, show me your fangs, the passion in your heart and make me feel blessed indeed to have such a wise friend to share this wild literary adventure.

A friend is a precious thing but a friend who creates, who knows the struggle to translate a concept into words, the fickle nature of a muse, the pain of writers block and the exhausted relief of a completed work. Those, are friends that understand what makes your heart beat, your mind tick, your soul breathe. Those are the friends you can be completely yourself with, and share that little fragile part of yourself that gets exposed every time you make a new piece of work.

How about a tune from a time ago ?
1978/79
Rory Gallagher ... Shadow Play

A Rory Gallagher fan, why Carl you've gone up in my estimation.
You're a class act, shake that mane and show us all how fabulous you are.
Thought I'd pop by and buy everyone a drink. You're a fine group of people to get completely blasted with and talk intensely about utter rubbish.
I love you all dearly.
Have a wonderful day, filled with all the things that bring you joy, with the people you like most, for you deserve it today of all days.
Happy birthday and may you have a year of great good fortune, much love and plenty of laughter.

Good morning, Tonya! Thanks so much for the setup and hugs to your littley. Glad you had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Hope all our American friends had a great day yesterday.

Morning, Carl! Morning, Michelle!

I'll bung the brownies on the bar and get stuck into the washing up. And grab some of Bertha's elixir too!

Waves a good morning and gets stuck into drying the washing up, checking everything is spotlessly dry before putting it back on the shelf.
When the Muse is kind and the creativity flows I rejoice as a former Childe of the Rose.

My ever fickle muse has decided to be kind to me today and helped me complete a first draft of a new story and re-edit one that had song lyrics in it to something I made up.

For all the writers here, may your imagination be at its filthiest, may the words pour like notes from a pianists fingers, may your word processor never crash and may you never need a second draft.
Slainte!

Well, I just happened to be strolling by and I heard someone pop a cork. Did someone say "Jameson"?

James thank goodness you're here, some utter bastard let my glass stay empty.
I think I'm sobering up. This is an appalling situation. I'm not allowed to drink alone in case I leap on the bar and dance the can can.
*Wiggles empty glass* drinkies??
Sneakily remove a single cufflink and let him try to find it when he gets home.
Pass but will have a drink with and bitch about life.

out of curiousity, have any of you fine denizens of this wonderful establishment ever done an escape room or have any thoughts or knowledge of them?

also, i'm buying. set them up, knock them down, no limit. smile

I know some people that run them and I've helped out with props and stuff.
They can be lots of fun with the right group and pure torture with the wrong one.
Very politely pass but share a Cookie because I'm kind.
@James it's always a pleasure to discuss such things, and swap technical notes.

@Fuzzy Have a wonderful day, enjoy your Jameson. One of the finest daily whiskeys.
I mean I@ve done it on an Altar, on a hilltop instead of in a church, and that was only because the other person really wanted to celebrate the change of the Season.
I'm a polite woman, when I'm sweetly asked to do something by a very willing lover, I'm unlikely to say no.
It just wasn't a kink of mine, and still isn't.
