It's INFJ (followed by an A or T), Mags. I only know cos I'm one too! Join the club.

INFP-A. This is surprisingly accurate. Who knew? I've never taken these kinds of things too seriously, but it was right on.

Sadly, it means I can't join Mags and Curvy-G's club. sad

Then again, if I was in the right mood I might use the word "lush" in a sentence every time I spoke to them

I plan to do this.

I have an writer acquaintance who once made a remark in passing that really seemed to reference a story I had just posted. So they might know who i am here. I am clueless as to who they might be here. It does not particularly worry me.
Tired. Three day weekend is only 31 hours away. Bill, please give me enough köffee to make it to the finish line.
I knew him in passing, but Layla knew him much better. He was funny and sarcastic and clearly well loved. The death of one man diminishes us all. He will be missed. Rest peacefully.
Just saw the first two episodes of The End of the F*****g World on Netflix. Awesome show.

Big congratulations Mr tentacle ?

We prefer the term Appendaged Americans. smile

Is it time for Lush to crank up a 'Tentacle Sex' category? ;)

There are 33 stories that come up when you search for tentacle. The vast majority are from 2016 or later. I thinks it's a trend! Deserves it's own category? I think tentacle sex deserves its own site!

I've been informed that wishing all a Happy VD is inappropriate, today and every day, so I'm at a loss for words.

Sorry Verbal. I didn't mean anything by it. Not bitter at all that a story about an octopus fucking some chick on a beach
beat out a story about a guy getting ginger shoved up his ass by a Japanese hentai girl with purple hair in Walmart.

I even have a dog farting in bed. Come On!!! What are the judges looking for???

I should have written this stuff while in English class. Instead, I wrote about prostitutes raising money for their education.
Not surprisingly, same result.

Chai tea, extra ginger, extra MaryAnn please.

Inappropriate hugs and sloppy kisses to all today. This morning, I've got my eye on a curvy snow woman the kids built in the back yard.

Ping, you magnificent bastard! If it makes you feel any better, I'd much rather get ginger shoved up his ass by a Japanese hentai girl with purple hair in Walmart than get fucked by an octopus. Your story was hot and funny and weird and well-written and filled with crazy unpredictable energy. Much like you. smile

Happy Valentine's Day all. I celebrated mine last weekend. We were gonna try to meet up the weekend AFTER Valentine's Day, because then all the candy would be half price, but the timing didn't work out.

Congrats one last time to all the regulars who entered. Writer's bars are fun.

Köffee please.

Congratulations to my talented beloved, and to all the winners. Jeff and I are missing each other after his visit, and I am so glad we have this news to cheer us. Hurrah!!!!

Hey there, cutie. Can I interest you in a drink?

EDIT: I had a bit of a congratulatory buzz going and honestly thought I was posting at Rump's. My bad.

You are welcome to buy them. I just said he's welcome to uh put it on me
Ya know body shots are pretty good way to celebrate.

Now I think I'll have tequila please and I made a tray of jello shots if anyone cares to have one.

Happy Valentine's Day to those across the pond where it's already the 14th. ❤️❤️❤️?
I really love flowers and chocolate if anyone is interested. Reese's peanut butter hearts are my favorite. As well as Lilly's and roses in not your usual colors. ♥️???

Congrats not only to the winners, but to anyone who ever had the courage to put words on paper and show it in public!

Flowers and chocolate and Reese's and Jello shots to all the pretty girls in the bar as an early Valentine's Day present.

To-kill-ya shots for all the men.

It's all, uh, on Tonya. smile

A toast to writers! Let's party!
This is SO COOL!

It was such a strong competition. I think the new categories pushed everyone to really write outside their comfort zone (I know it did with me).

That was the fun in reading all the entries - they all had the common theme of "change," but that change idea was filtered through all the different categories, from money and uniforms to pee and monster sex. So even though the theme was the same, the results were wildly different. It was really entertaining to read, and it pushed everyone to do their best work.

Anyway. Congrats to everyone! I am honored to be included in such a strong field of contenders. Lit af, fäm.

Apologies for the delay. I think you'll appreciate the final standings all the more for all the deliberation

And the ass of the aforementioned woman helps too.
I keep coming here to see if the winners have been announced, but I find I spend at least 30 seconds mesmerized by the ass of the woman who is in the prompt for the comp. I wish I could write a story as perfect as that.
Once you go Verbal, you'll never need gerbils (I'm not even sure what that means smile ).

Greetings, all you writers of the porn.

Life is good, mostly. Spent several hours listening to a Kinky Friedman mystery, "Elvis, Jesus, and Coca-Cola". I'll change the mood from Jeff's selection with one of the hits off his legendary 'Kinky Friedmna and The Texas Jewboys" LP vinyl albumn.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHI943GcX5s

Which reminds me that today may or may not be the day the contest winners are announced. If so, there'll be plenty of Rumplations own, 'Shampain' chilled and waiting for post-contest celebrations.

Big Bertha is gurgling and steaming, full to the rim with her unique version of coffee. There's also hot water for tea and coco, beer and wine that all agree is memorable and, of course, our collection of fine lickers. So whadda ya oral olympians wanna drink?

I'll take a cuppa black coffee-like sludge.

My morose country a little too much for you Bill? I approve heartily of your choice of Kinky Friedman, songwriter of the enchanting "They Don't Make Jews Like Jesus Anymore." He's a good writer too - so I've heard, I haven't read anything.

Semi-crazy workday today, clearing the desk from the long weekend. Plus I got a sick kid at home. Gonna be a looooong day.

Comp results are supposed to be in today. I am not holding my breath.
Just finished Pushing Ice. Good solid sci-fi. I was thinking it would be a little more about comet mining when I picked it up, but it was a good read.

Read Bird Box on the plane last week. Nice, dark, unsettling reading. As is Wise Blood, which I'm reading now.

No Olympics tonight. I just watched My Little Pony with my eldest, who is sick and wants the comfort of little kid TV. Friendship IS magic! I think I may watch some Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

But first, here's a quarter for the juke. This one goes out to Layla. I miss you.

Another, Bill. Line em up.

This is related, I think, to a bug that is seriously bugging me. The Friends' Activity page, filtered to Forum entries, was my main way of looking around the site. See what my friends has posted in the Forums, read, maybe respond. I go to the actual Forum page now, but it requires a lot of sifting through links. I miss a working Friends' Activity feed. Hadn't quite realized how dependent I wad on it to navigate Lush until it went away.

I know these issues aren't easy to solve. Thanks Gav for all you do.
I am back home.

I miss Layla.

Several fingers of burrbin (he intoned mirthlessly).

I see the contest results are out tomorrow. That's cool!

Ewww OMG I Hope You meant ANNUAL AND NOT ANAL ... IF ANAL IM PASS QUICK & IN A HURRY

That's very, very funny.

It's even earlier here. About to drive to the airport sad and fly back home. I hope everyone is well. Didn't watch a single second of the Olympics, which seems to be all the talk here. Anyone wanna catch me up?

I am a tad wistful.

Köffee please.
Yes, it does. With someone your own age, you have shared cultural touchstones and references.
Quit eating Goldfish crackers in it, is the only thing I've been told.
In a woman: kindness, humor, intelligence, playfulness, beauty.

And may I add my True Love has these qualities in spades (I am about to see her again and so am feeling a bit misty).

It's about story scoring... presently most of the stories here get unreasonably high scores because of many reasons but most importantly because readers have no mechanism available to evaluate a story with good reason. Bias, irresponsibility, prejudice and sometimes fishy ways are being used to score a story... while scoring, readers should be able to take account of the plot, language, setting, style etc. separately... all such fundamentals of a story should be available to the readers to score distinctively one by one, say from score 1 to 5... This can be made available in a small table... It will reduce inflated scoring and likely to bring in realism in story rating. This may also lead to more objectivity in subsequent comments by the readers smile

A rubric! :)

I agree scores are inflated. But I don't think a complex scoring grid will help the "fishy ways" in which stories are voted on. There are worse things than people being too nice.
Sweet post.

I say no to an engagement ring. Too much pressure on top of a lot of pre-existing pressure, and the emotion of the proposal will swamp everything else. Jen's idea of a simple ring would be nice. But wait on the proposal.

I say make her something by hand. For this Valentine's (Layla, if you are reading this, STOP RIGHT NOW - SPOILER ALERT!), I bought a little wooden box, stained it, added a photo of us on the front, and put a hand-molded clay heart embedded with a few glass beads inside. You don't have to be a great crafter or artist, the gesture of making something with your own hands for her will outweigh any flaws in the final result.

Good luck!

Perhaps we could tweak the styling a little to make the options stand out a bit more, too? smile

Ooh, html gets me all hot and bothered.

Darkside's story is good stuff. Nice to see the feature in action.

Can we add more than two endings? Can we have alternate endings nested inside existing alternate endings? Am I being annoying yet?

GOOD idea. Thanks Gav! And thanks Darkside, for coming (heh) up with the idea, as well as being the first one to use it and show us how it's done.
Quote by RumpleForeskin
Dark Side has just posted what is probably the first 'second ending' story, "Letter of Intent". Y'all check it out.

,

Yes! That was fast. He's a good writer (though the avatar keeps making he think he is a she). I look forward to the read.

I am jetting away to LaylaLand tomorrow, so I will be happily distracted while waiting for comp results. They will likely be announced as I am flying back home (and will my arms be tired!) (that bad joke was for Shameless Flirt), and so I will probably find out when I get back home. Such is life.

Köffee please. Should be a chill day today. Drinks are on me until the winners are announced.
