Omg, lol.

A little bird told me we're likely looking at the 12th...

Yeah. It ain't pretty. smile
So let me open a tiny window into how obsessive (and yes, competitive) my twisted little mind can be. Initially, when it was posted that the comp results would be announced on Feb 8th, I was thinking that if Lush Central is located in England, and if they announced the winners at midnight on the 8th, it would actually be posted at 6 p.m. the previous day (today!) where I live, which is 6 hours behind. Then I saw that "Feb. 8th" had been replaced with "shortly," and I was like, "Yippie, maybe they will be posted sooner!!!" Then came Hånnåh's soul-crushing observation that, as a frequent entree (yes, the meal) into contests, she's noticed that the results are usually announced a few days late. Sigh.

Perhaps I should seek psychiatric help.

In the meantime I'll have a köffee.
Well it's Wednesday now, but my Tuesday was terrifically stressful - does that count?

TPBM is wishing they had more hours in the day.

I wouldn't count on the eighth. As an avid entree (not the food) I've found that results are usually announced a few days after the intended date. But I agree on the strong field. I would find it enormously difficult to judge especially with so much variety.

I'll have a Hãnnah, please.

Entrêê made me laugh. smile

It's the variety of categories that made it so fun to read all the êntriês. Cool comp!

A burrbin please.

Good morning fellow rumps peeps. Reservations are made to visit the school next week in Ohio. This is all kinda scary and exciting. He is my baby boy. He was the baby until 4 years ago when I was pregnant with my special gift. Decided to try to read a book to try to get back into the groove. I am unable to finish a story or poem even when the idea is formed. My backlog is huge and I am so sorry. Coffee please Bill. Hope the rest of you are ok and don't mind me rattling away here. Just a bit off today.

Bars are meant for rattling. Well, drinking and rattling. Rattle away dear.

Greetings to all good, and especially the bad, Rumplators Coffee's coming up. Scott, yours has a slug of BBB added. Larry, you seem suspiciously chipper this Tuesday morning.

Any word on the contest. Best I recall, the results are due to be exposed on or about Friday.

There was a thunderous lack of replies to my question about what folks thought about the new 'second ending' feature. That fine, just by golly, by geez just fine as frog's hair. So here's your second chance to spill your beans on the issue.

I think the idea of multiple endings is wildly cool, I just haven't figured out how I would use it. I mess with multiple timelines a little as it is, in the Shards.

The idea of a comp involving them is wildly cool too.

The contest page says results will be announced "shortly." sad Originally it said Feb 8, so I am sticking to that. Exceptionally strong field of stories, IMO.
It's snowed! No school! You might think that means I can sleep in. You would be wrong.

Next up: driving across snow-blighted roads to a doctor's appointment.

Lotsa köffee please.
Can a mod or someone maybe post an example multiple ending story so we can see this in action? Wouldn't need to be a real story, just an example. I'm trying to get my head around how it would work.

Yo Rumpapumppump. Jolt me up please. And make it a big one. Big enough to hide behind. Hide from Hannah I mean. Never did get any more of my story written, lol.

Verbal told me I'll be in the Superbowl next year. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I get to show my nipples at halftime.

I didn't say Super Bowl, I said Super Blow. As in, Jen gives super blow...oh, nevermind.

As a wise, sage, astute non-observer of life posted on FB, "The SB was almost as exciting as the Alabama vs Georgia college national championship game. ;)

As a jaded, sarcastic teenaged observer of life, my youngest texted to her boyfriend (a huge Pats fan), "I watched the game. My soul died of boredom."
Monday. Ugh.

Getting a new water heater installed today, as the last one was supposed to last 9 years, and it is now year 18.

Köffee, please.
So, this is minutia, but...when I go to the Friend's Activity feed, there is no Forum activity shown. If I go to the links at the top and filter by Forum only, I get no entries past Jan 31. I actually used to do this pretty often, to see what's happening in the Forums at a glance.

I tried logging out and logging back in. Thoughts?

I, on the other hand, might have made use of this in the last couple episodes of the Wedding Interrupted series since I was wrestling with various possible endings. I will not, as Beffer suggest, go back and add them now but it's something I might get some mileage out of down the road.

That's exactly the situation I thought of when I read this.

Cool idea Darkside!!! Thank you Gav for implementing it!!!
Yeah, I gotta admit, that was a really good game.

Spring training starts in three weeks. Bill, tell that BoSox bus to take it nice and easy.

A last bump before the workweek begins in 9 hours, please.

Super Bowl being over starts my countdown to the NASCAR SEASON beginning (2 weeks to the Daytona 500)

Hi Larry puppy bowl is my favorite !

Hi Sprite kitten bowl is cool!
Rump a sweet tea please !!!

A woman with real priorities! Buy her a sweet tea with extra sweetness, because she is so sweet!

The Braves should rock this year. They will kick the hapless Mets asses in the NL East, I expect.

For the record, Oscar would never say that. He'd call them all JACKASSES!

For those that don't know this couple, they are from one of the funniest Canadian shows EVER - Corner Gas.

The star and creator is a comedian named, are you ready for this... Brent Butt. No shit. Damn funny guy.

I've reached an age where I'm starting to care a little about the Super Bowl. At least, I feel less of a need to make snarky comments about all the padding and the whole 'oh no, we lost the ball, better have a break for a couple of minutes and put an entirely different team out there' thing. Now, to read up on who's actually playing this year...

Coffee for me too please, with or without an added umlaut.

Tough crowd.

Beer me. I am about to tune into the Football Game Bloated With Advertising and Gluttony and All That is Good About This American Life (or, FBBWAaGaATiGATAL)
Forgive me for sounding grumpy, but I have finally reached an age where I no longer care to feign enthusiasm for the Stupor Bowl. Oh I'll watch - last year was a great game, and the halftime show can occasionally rock (Prince 2007!). But mostly I see the game as a marker: when it's over we can finally focus on what is really important, which is Spring Training for baseball season!

Koffee please. Enjoy the game everyone.

Well I think the second version is much more polished – but it was interesting how you went from 'crying' to 'sad'; and because I can't see what the rest of the story is about I wonder why you switched them, and once you had, did you ever consider dropping those first two sentences? I mean, why did you choose not start the story at: 'She woke at 5am…' I really like that sentence and the two that follow: they make it clear to me she was sad.

I can say this because I've never read the story and so I can claim ignorance when you tell me the reason.

PS: Thanks for not making me feel a total thread loser.

Yeah, the final story isn't on here because I pulled it off to try to sell it (thus far unsuccessfully).

What I was trying to do was avoid ALL the backstory, because the idea doing all that writing just to establish she was sad exhausted me. So I figured, hey, just say she's sad. Don't even explain why, because it is not integral. Just, she's sad, it isn't important why, don't invade her (fictional) privacy. It seemed like an elegant solution.

I know it breaks the "show, don't tell" rule, but rules are made to be broken.

You are right, though, you could just lop off those first two sentences entirely. Even more elegant than my initial solution. smile
What to do when you find someone you "click" with.

If the cat is cute and sweet then it can count as staff

I've got a whole entourage then!

Work day should be chill. Which is good, as today is early release for school, so I'll be Dadding and working at the same time.

It is SO nice not to be writing about tentacles again.

Köffee!!!

lush, is, actually based in the UK. that's where the main offices are. I'm just the west coast satellite office with a huge staff of 2. silly

Cats don't count as staff. smile

Dentist this morning. Ugh.

I am all aflutter about the comp. Maybe that's why I rarely enter these things, because it's so hard to wait for the results! I might be on a plane headed for my amor verdadero as the results are announced.

I read nearly all, I must confess I didn't read those last few that came in at the final hours. Kee has a really good story up that she didn't enter - Teenage Temptation - even though it was eligible. Hot banner pic too. :)

Köffee please. And I'll buy a cup of Bertha's brown sludge for anyone else who wanders in this morning. My tab. And by mine I mean Mike's, which means Scott's, which means Hannah K's, which means...zzzzzz.
I assume this is relater to the black boxes and outages and stuff, but I don't have any Post or Quote buttons on my Forum pages when I am in Chrome. I can't post! I had to go on the dreaded Microsoft Edge to be able to post this!

Anyone else having Chrome-specific or other browser-specific problems?
Depends on the ex. I'd probably be cool with it. Even if I were uncomfortable, I'd let it happen. Trust is important.

I am still casual friends with several exes, though it's mostly a FB/email thing, since they don't live near me. My gf is utterly unbothered, and I like that she has that kind of absolute trust in me.

Happy 'Hump Day' to all happy humpsters.

Scott, here's your coffee. Big Bertha indicates there's plenty more where that came from

The last 'new' contest entry I'm aware of is the one by, The Sensuous Lady. Before that it was Byron Lord's entry. but both of 'em have gotten comments from Buz, Sara, and moi, among others. I've never been certain when Nic pulls the plug. Guess that bugs the OCD-inclined among us.

Scott, ya ready for a refill? And whadda about the rest of you walking adverts for the blessings of zero population growth? Feel like sharing what ya wanna drink?

I'll have köffee. please.

I never understand deadlines on here either. I always got the sense that deadlines and announcements happened like eight hours earlier than my time, so I figured Lush was based in England. I have no basis for that assumption though. It's mostly Americans here, though, right? Like maybe 60%?

Gonna be a long day today. Sigh. Lotsa running around. Can I get a thermos of köffee to go?
