Happy Sunday everyone.

Yesterday was interesting. We visited a lot of communities and saw a lot of land and houses. Some were very rural, too much for me. For some reason, there are Dollar General stores in almost every small town but no chain grocery stores. The lack of doctors in some areas would be a deal-breaker. We're not moving for a few years so we have time. There are so many beautiful communities to check out along the Chesapeake Bay and the many rivers. We'll find the right one eventually.

I'm enjoying the cold rainy weather here. When I want to watch someone to take my mind off things I always go for a good ghost story.

I recently finished The Haunting of Bly House on Netflix. I binged all the episodes. It was very well done, but now I need to find some more ghost stories.

I'll have a glass of wine, please.

Cheers everyone!

HUGS. Have faith, the election is almost over!

We watched Haunting of Bly Manor too! Really enjoyed it! They almost lost us with some confusing plot twists around the 5th episode, and I was getting skeptical they'd be able to pull all the plot strings together by the end, but they did!

My back is out. I doubt I will be able to work, or do much of anything. I will try to get some writing in.

Hey, delacruzforjosh, one more question: so you were self shipping with Josh Delacruz before Jane, right? Am I getting the hang of this?

Fuzzy, thundersnow is COOL. We got a ton on normal snow yesterday. All melting off today.

Køffėë please.

WL is headed for its first hiatus week after next (the first week of November, in other words) and I'm not ready at all oh my god.

Here's hoping it's just a week and I get to see Jane the following Monday.

I am going to start selfshipping with Gamera.

HUGS

Nice to meet you James. Welcome to the best dive on the internet. No white after Labor Day!

Temperatures dropped DRAMATICALLY last night. It was in the 70s all week, now it's 28. Cold weekend too. We will cuddle up wirh the cats and watch it snow on Sunday.

We are also going to...an actual new horror movie at the movie theater!!! The Empty Man. Don't even care if it's good or not. I love going to the movies.

Glad to hear Bill and Tech-G voted!

Okay. Gotta work.
I think it's kind of flattering. I always point it out to LJ when she is being checked out.

She feigns ignorance, but I think she knows.

Verbal, I'm giving serious thought to your suggestion of starting a thread for my selfshipping adventures, but I still don't know where I'd post it.

(Besides, I doubt anyone other than yourself would read/reply.)

I think a lot of people would read and/or reply. It's interesting. Post it in The Pub or The Lounge.

So is self-shipping what you are doing whenever you post about them? Does shipping=posting about the character(s)? Is it fanfic related? I'm so confused!
HUGS

Hey Martin. Yeah, familial dramas always have more encores waiting in the wings. Even after the orchestra has packed up and the audience has gone home.

Thanks for the tunes and the donuts, Fuzz. Even the pumpkin spice ones look good (*snags 3 on my fingers*).

Not much of note to say. I've decided that, come Jan 1 when I have much more time to write, I will probably return to writing erotica. Just when you thought it was safe to visit Lush!

Debates tonight. It's also my night to make Get Out the Vote calls, which are kinda fun - we are calling public voter rolls, so most of the people we call are Democrat, and most have already voted (we are a vote by mail state)! So the calls are mostly "keep up the faith!," "good luck on Nov 3!" kinda conversations.

Köffee would give me the wings of an angel.

If you ask about this again, I may have to write the URL on your forehead...

https://forum.lushstories.com//yaf_postsm2857301_Swimming-pool-or-hot-tub-of-cum.aspx

Not exactly heated (umm, I mean the discussion, not the pool) though.

As for heated debates... yeah, guns and Trump spring to mind. Oh, and lots of discussions that move on to sometimes quite heated but very petty debates about completely off-topic things...

Thanks Phil. I think of you as The Keeper of the Thread. Knowing you will always find the "hot tub of cum" and lead me to it gives me great comfort and an overwhelming sense of peace.

And MrNudiePants gun thread

Is this thread still around somewhere? Sounds like it was truly bonkers.
The "hot tub of cum" thread will always be my favorite. I can never find it, though, so my memories of it becomes increasingly bizarre with time.

I don't know that it ever caused "heated debate." More like an "only at Lush" moment.

I thought I was banned for awhile oh my god cause my avatar wasn't showing (and the site was slow in general) but I'm glad I'm not.

...also it's all fun and games till you start shipping a rarepair with only eleven fics to choose from.

And now you made me look up "rarepair!" I'm getting quite an education. You shouls start a thread about all this. Yeah, we can just Google your words, but it's not as interesting as hearing from a participant. Tell us more about your rarepair! Jane and Josh, by any chance?

Not much going on here. I only have two months left at work, and I am bored sh1tless as a result. But I feel guilty if I write during the workday.

Have another virtual FB reading next month. Reading the first story I ever got published. A tales of Midwestern slackerhood (or, in other words, thinly veiled autobiography). .Png, sadly, I will not be saying the word NIPPLE this time.

The story I started yesterday is made up entirely of posts to a NextDoor-like app, about a demonic possession viewed almost entirely from the reaction of all the neighbors. The trouble is, I spend most of my time f*cking with the formatting, to make it look like NextDoor.

Go Dodgers.

Köffee please!
HUGS

.Png, Santa Clarita Diet is Timothy Elephant too, right? Haven't see it. Heard of a mockumentary starring Walton Groggins called John Bronco, and haven't seen that either. NOR have I seen The Americans. Been lazy lately. Watched The Trial of the Chicago Seven. It was good, not great. Saw a couple good, slow-burn horror movies on Prime: Evil Eye and Nocturne, both produced by Blumhouse. Good, BUT LJ and I differed on exactly what the fuck happened at the end of Nocturne. Theories welcome.

The World Series starts tonight. I've seen almost none of the post-season this year. I will probably check in tonight.

Wow. My whole post is about TV. Sigh.

Hope everyone is well.

You were not born to be docile and diligent, but to make the world shatter; play with it, rolling it like a penny on your knuckles.

That's excellent.

I don't think it has any inherent meaning, except whatever meaning I put into it.

Overall I'm pretty content with how things are turning out.
I have outsourced nearly all the chores I hate doing--laundry, dishes, mowing, yadayadayada--to my daughters.

After raising them for nearly two decades, it's payback time. smile
HUGS

Hope everyone is well.

Congrats on littley's tooth loss. When we were in the tooth fairy years, we kept forgetting to swap out a quarter for the tooth, and so had to tell the girls that the tooth fairy was a little backed up and it might take her a night or two to get to them.

Xander, I just looked up your profile and saw "self shipper," and then went into the rabbit hole for good 15 minutes reading about it. Tell us more! That's interesting, creative stuff.

Bill, sounds like a good World Series. I agree the dodgers will win in 5, maybe 4, games. Yet I'm still rooting for them, even though they are turning into the West coast version of the Yankees.

I get to start a brand new story today!

Coffee would be a blessing.

Well, there you go. You weren't in a hotel, you were in the TARDIS. Did you see a fez anywhere? I left mine behind.

Fezzes are cool.

HUGS

Thanks for the set-up, O Setters of Up.

Calm workday today, after yesterday's chaos. I should even find time to...VOTE! Though I have to look up all the judges first. Hate that.

No date night tonight. Travelling to Oklahoma was good but exhausting. We'll be REALLY boring. Watch The Trial of the Chicago Seven on HBO is the only thing on our plate (Aaron Sorkin wrote it!).

Speaking of Sorkin, I watched The West Wing Reunion thing last night. I loved that show, but boy, it really is the definition of smug liberal elites telling us how the world works. My late wife (who loved it more than I did) always called it "ear candy for liberals." Really inventively filmed (on a stage), and yeah, well written and acted, but it was often cringe-worthy. I will be so glad when (if?) the election is over and the culture wars chill out a little.

Coffee would be the elixir of the Gods.

Thank you so much! smile I enjoy baking and decorating cakes. I'm not at the same level as people who bake cakes for a living but it's nice to do as a casual hobby. Here's another I made which I was really pleased with. Sometimes my friends are shocked when they see all this cutesy, homebaking or crocheting I do knowing what I also write about ?

That's frikkin amazing. It looks SO professional. Even the black blob hiding the name!

Back (finally) at work, trying to get my head in the game. Only two days til the weekend.

Capulin volcano was awesome. The hike was a bit more strenuous than I remembered at the beginning (I'm sure it's me who has changed, and not the hike :) ). Incredible views of mountains and high desert plains and cinder cones and ancient ava flows. You can see into five states (New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas and Colorado).

I will wander down into that little chunk of New Mexico more often I think. Particularly when I have more time on my hands come 2021.

A köffëë for Hannah, a pot of it for me.
HUGS

Good morning everyone. Thanks for all the genuine well wishes. I really got a lot of closure from the memorial, despite the surreal post-covid precautions. You are right Gil, social distancing kinda falls apart.

I have vacation days to burn, so I am am taking one today. I'm in the middle of New Mexico, in a cheap motel room, about to go hike the rim on a small extinct volcano - Capulin crater. One of my favorite places around here (The Taos Hum is set very near here). Hike, maybe do some writing, head back home.

Hey Hannah, nice to see you back.

Bill, put Hannah's köffee on my tab. I'll have one as well.
HUGS

Hope everyone is doing well.

Hey, Hannah. Haven't seen you in awhile.

Back from down south. The memorial went well. I've given eulogies now for my Mom, my Dad, my sister, and my wife. Last man standing.

I felt like Gus McCrae returning Woodrow Call's bones back home to Lonesome Dove.

Afterward I had several pulls of apple-flavored moonshine with my uncles next to the gravestones. Pretty tasty. The one who made it rattled off several moonshine recipes to me, including a) an absolutely awful sounding conconction called a creamsicle where the cream flavor is provided by...wait for it...coffee creamer (EWWW!), and 2) .png's beloved limoncello, which sounded pretty tasty, and pretty easy too.

Coffee would be excellent.

I'm still not a coffee drinker but since I have been up for far too long I am going to need some caffeine. A coke, please.

There are too many news stories I am trying to actively avoid. They don't help my current mood and state of mind.

My cat Apollo apparently has some neurological damage from the blood clot or a possible stroke. But he is eating, purring, and otherwise happy. He is not in any pain but sleeps most of the time and no longer has any interest in playing or interacting with his brother. He can no longer jump either. He acts as if he has aged years overnight. I'll enjoy his company for as long as I can and he is happy and pain-free.

We're having a memorial this Saturday for my aunts. It will be nice to see some family, share memories, and mourn together, but the plan for a gathering at a restaurant after is a point of contention. Most attendees are in their eighties. Not sure how that is going to work.

I hope everyone has a good Monday.

Cheers!

So sorry for Apollo, but glad he is not in any pain. Sleeping most of the time sounds like a reasonable lifestyle to me.

We are having a memorial for my Dad the same day you are having a memorial for your aunts. And have the same concerns about people blowing off social DC distancing and masks. This is in the deep south, and a lot of the attendees are avid anti-maskers. We are supplying masks and requesting they be worn. But I am not gonna get sucked into culture wars on that day, of all days.

My eulogy is written. The songs to be sung are set. The great road trip south begins Wednesday. I am actually kinda pyched!

Coffee would be a balm.

I love the color red. Red nails, red hair, red lipstick and red clothes. Soft red walls in my "wish" room and red velvet sheets. I think it's very sexy.

Turns me on even more when I'm tied by red shibari rope. I'm very comfortable in my favorite color. It lifts my spirits incredibly.

Please turn this into a story! Really well described and sexy.
HUGS

Thanks for all the well wishes on my continuing crankiness. I'll push through it.

The world is crazy and just getting crazier, though I won't get into it here. November 3rd, and the weeks that follow, will be a circus. Though oddly I am feeling optimistic about the eventual outcome. But we'll have to wade through a LOT of bullshit first.

Taking care of for kids is a Herculian feat, Tonya.

Sorry, .png, no binging being done yet, and probably not until we get back from Oklahoma. I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with planning for my Dad's memorial. I watched the first season of Deadwood and quite liked it. The language is Shakespearian, except, you know, for all the swearing. Great performances too, notably Ian McShane. That said, I only got through one season, so that's saying something.

Okay. Stuff to do. One last cup of coffee.

Verbs, you want one of my famous massages? These hands are magic. Ask any of the mods.

I'd LOVE a massage. Yesterday I was tired and cranky, and today I am well rested and STILL cranky. So maybe your magic hands will do the trick.

At least it's October. Scary movies!!!

HUGS

The only team I was really pulling for in the baseball postseason is ALREADY eliminated (the Twins). But since Sara's Braves won a thriller of a game yesterday (1-0 in 13 innings!) I may root for them. Game is starting...NOW! Oh, and fuck the Yankees.

SO anxious about the upcoming election, and I will be SO happy when it's over. Maybe. I guess that depends a little on what happens.

Coffee. Extra strong please, Bill.
You are right, Carl, that debate was an embarrassment. On the plus side, I think Biden won the Presidency last night.

HUGS

Thanks to the Holy Trinity of Caffeinated Goodness for setting things up.

My car is getting worked on all day today. Getting the transmission fixed before the long sojourn to Oklahoma for my Dad's memorial next week.

Tired and grumpy today. Coffee would help.
Glad to see Gillian Anderson get so much love on this page. I'd get kinky with Scully anytime.

I think Mary Louise Parker's character on the West Wing (yes, I know it's smug ear candy for liberals), Amy Gardner, is a template for the perfect woman. Hot and smart and funny and strong.

I got nuthin.

HUGS, though. And hi, everyone.

And coffee would be a blessing.

Cheers Curvy... Still buzzing from the rush of winning.. A beer this Monday evening would go down very well

So good to see so many rumps regulars on the list.. This is obviously the place for literary reprobates.. And as for the woman with the tentacle Ping.. That is definitely something you'd only want to see when you're sober lol.. Cheers everyone.. Drinks on me.. Or whoever I manage to slip the tab to ?

CONGRATS SUSIE!!! Love the title, and looking forward to the read!

Tech, I am absurdly jealous you get to watch a rocket launch. That's on my bucket list.

The hotel sex is a nice touch too.

More. Coffee. Please.
