Better day than yesterday, but MAN, do I need a weekend and a Date Night.
This trapped in the house thing is getting to me. I actually stopped listening to the daily briefing on the 'rona because I kept yelling at my laptop, whose only crime was to broadcast the damn thing.
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Appreciate the set-up Bill and Tonya. Say hi to your friend named kitten, T. And for the kind words about the story.
Coffee would be wonderful. Thanks for asking!
Really crappy day.
Strong coffee, and keep it coming.
Hey all! I seemed to have missed all the technical glitches. A round on me, Bill.
And Bill, good luck messing with your screen reader and the frustrating beast known as windows 10.
I just finished the reading on Facebook live, so I'll celebrate with a shot of burrbin and a beer to chase it. It was fun! Tonya even saw it! LJ said the lighting made me look all ghostly, but other than that it went great.
We are still waiting to hold my Dad's memorial. So, a trip to rural Oklahoma when things chill.
Plus, LJ and I had been planning to cruise to Alaska as a honeymoon destination. Whales, Northern Lights, yadayadayada. So, that too.
Death and marriage. There's a symmetry to that, I guess.
There a bunch of things that can pull me into a story.
Personally, characters that seem like living breathing people are probably the thing that most pulls me into a story. A lot goes into that: dialogue, description, yadayadayada, but that's the main criterion.
But like that saucy Mags said above, anything can pull me in: a nice turn of phrase, an unexpected plot twist, really hot sex, a world-view that seems specific and defined and unique. Something that sets a story apart. I can forgive most grammar/spelling mistakes if the story rises above it (I make a ton of spelling mistakes myself). And I'm open to most any subject manner.
LJ and I had what we called The Last Breakfast on a Saturday morning, at the Urban Egg. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, and loaded hash browns (bacon, jalapenos, onion, cheese). Sourdough toast on the side.
It was a poem.
Dude. Fruits and veggies are alive, and it is wildly irresponsible for you to suggest we "buy" them and fuck them without ever getting their consent. They have feelings too.
Also, I killed off the entire planet in my last story. You kicking me offa Lush for that?
I'm no mod, but I have disagreed with edits they've made from time to time, and they've been very good at listening to my arguments.
So, maybe try politely writing to the mod who edited it and begging your case. It's worked for me.
Remember, they work hard, and for free. And they are good at what they do.
Dig the nylons.
Ping and Classic Scott and their mead.
I had mead once, at Rockygrass. Probably had some at a Renaissance Festival at some point in my life too. Not a fan.
Ooh, and it just now hits me, there will be no Rockygrass this year. Truly sad. We didn't have tickets. We were actually toying (heh) with going on a cruise to Alaska this summer. A honeymoon cruise. Also sad.
Someday.
A bourbon, with three medicinal gummy bears on a toothpick for garnish.
Yay Trin!
One of the beating hearts at the very center of Lush.
Thanks for all you do, dear.
