His throbbing, arthritic big toe penis which has early stage gout.

Dude. I can't even. Never going to get that image out of my head. My eyes! MY EYES!!!

How about this for the next comp theme: goutiphilia. lAt east one of the characters has to be sexually aroused by visible symptoms of gout.

Drinks for Ping, Grace, Scott Classic, and whoever else might be lurking in the shadows of the bar. Here's a cricket for Terrence. Good boy. I'll have 3 fingers of burrbin.

"Oh, it's coffee time again, I'm gonna drink it." That was something sorta like singing, probably) So what about the rest of you now tone deaf folks? Ya gonna order something to drink or just hang around soaking up the atmosphere and/or ambiance?

"I can see that uncaffeinated look in your eye..."

Sure I'll take a cup, Bill.

My eldest daughter beat me at Scrabble last night. I did NOT let her win. I've never let my kids win - I make them work for it. She's beaten me in chess and checkers and even Risk. But never Scrabble. Ah, the passing of the torch.

Also, this just in: I woke up with pain in both my big toes a couple nights ago. I looked it up on the internet and I think I have gout! Ew. Just ew. I will find out more at the doc on Friday.

Not much else going on. Work is aggravating.

Coffee for me, and anyone else hanging out in this dive.
I HAVE danced naked in the rain. I was camping. It rocked.

Have you ever had sex in a lake?

Villanelle from Killing Eve.

Great clip. I LOVED the first season. And she is so YOU.
Morning all. Thanks for the coffee and the brownies!

Tonya, we just cut the cable cord. We have Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ (that's free, my oldest daughter foots the bill) and Prime. We have HBO GO until the next cable bill. Of all of them, I probably watch Hulu the most. And I suspect I won't be able to live without HBO, so may jump back on that soon.

Scott, that is a genuinely funny clip. I know nothing about that movie, though I remember it coming out. Really funny.

Not much to talk about. I will refrain from bitching about the impeachment hearings today. Though I think it's good for all concerned that testimony from Bolton is on the table - Dems and Reps. And the American people of course.

Coffee me please.

Not sure this belongs here, But is anyone else having problems with posting pictures from your IPad? i can post fine with my iPhone but IPad won’t post. Any suggestions?

I've had that problem with the iPad too. Enough so that now I only post from my laptop.

I live with my favorite Lushie too!

I WOULD, with those unlimited funds, rent a block of hotel rooms in Northern California (San Francisco?), and have a Lush party for a weekend. It would be SO. MUCH. FUN. Meals and drinks and rooms all paid for.

I just read an article stating that Chief Justice Roberts can also rule to order witnesses to testify. His position is not just one for decorum and monitoring legislative rules of engagement. If this is the case, then if three more Republican senators don’t vote in favour of witnesses (Romney has said he would), then Roberts can rule for witness testimony. Interesting.

Monday’s here. Bring on the beer.

Kenneth Fucking Starr. I had forgotten how annoying I find him. 20 years since I last saw him, during the Clinton impeachment, and this morning it all comes roaring back.

At least the tide seems to be turning in terms of calling witnesses.

As much as I'd like a bowl and/or a beer while listening to this, I will simply have another coffee.
Thanks for the set-up, Tonya. And the BROWNIES!!! Glad it was such a satisfying weekend for you. Gotta love babies.

Bill, yeah, after a day of peace, we are back standing knee-deep in the Impeachment hearings. Starts in a bout an hour, and I am a glutton for punishment. At least Romney said he's likely to vote for additional witnesses. One down, three to go. Let's get Bolton on the stand.

Hey TG, Other Scott, Fuzzy.

Still trying to get fully awake and wide-eyed and functioning. Coffee should help, right?

Tonya, thanks so much for the setup .
Hope you for some more sleep after babysitting last night and have a lovely family day today.

I cooked a 4-course dinner for 9 last night, so tackling BB this morning might have been beyond me! There's a slab of left over Turmeric Cake on the bar, which will at least freak out Lyfbuz.

Martin, the cottage situation sounds a nightmare, so I'm glad you and Ines have escaped to warmer climes, even with erratic wifi. And congratulations on the latest chapter of En France. Exquisite work. smile

A 4 course dinner for 9! You are a woman of so many talents! What was on the menu?

Ping, yeah, I've been lurking over on that What Will It Take thread, and thought it started out more civilized than most, for quite awhile, until the Usual Suspects showed up to be disruptive. It gets frustrating, and I've held back from responding several times, because I don't want to get sucked down into it all. Still, a pretty good thread.

Tonya, enjoy that Grand-baby. Baby smell is pretty frikkin cool. Didn't experience it with my own daughters, as we adopted them when they were very young.

YES for opening day, Sara!!! National League East is gonna be a dogfight this year.

Hey Adagio, Bill, Grace, Martin. Hope the weekend is going well.

I've been working on finalizing the collection of Serious Moonlight stories for the book. Come a long way from the Shards. I wrote the first story in this collection way back in March of 2016. Time sails by like a wind in your face.

We saw a great little dance thing last night called the Objectivity Dance Theater. It was part dance, part circus, part juggling, part vaudville. Really creative. Just a man and a woman dancing, using props like coffee cups and newspapers and suitcases and a ladder and a light bulb.

It's late enough for a beer. Pour me whatever is on tap.
So. Haven't been on this thread in awhile. smile It's four pages back on the Self Promotion threads!

I FINALLY finished collecting and editing the entire Serious Moonlight collection last night. The list of stories follows, copy-and-pasted out of a long and incredibly unweildy Excel table. There are 44 stories. All of these were on Lush at some point, but only 5 are now (all towards the end of the list - I marked them with an asterisk). I cut 7 of them, including two really long stories that were once gonna be sort of the climax (heh) of the book. And I've rearranged the order more times than I can count.

1 EP, 3 Series Awards, and 25-ish RRs among them.

The first 24 stories went out as Amazon e-books. The entire collection comes out around Valentine's Day, next month, if I can get all my ducks in a row by then.

You say you have never inhaled anything, and I compliment you for that, but I'd like you to stop for a minute and think about this. While it is true that edibles are legal in Canada, in reality, what is the difference between inhaling smoke of one kind or another or eating a drug? The terminology is slightly different, but isn't eating something about the same as inhaling something? That substance, which is foreign to your body, is still entering your system.

You said you are suffering a 'lack of inspiration.' at the moment. This may be true, but there are several threads on this site where other authors have offered valid suggestions to help a person overcome their writers block. If memory serves me correctly, you have offered a few suggestions from time to time. I don't ever remember anyone ever suggesting a person should get high. I'm not trying to be 'cute' or rude, but is it possible that perhaps you should take your own advice in overcoming that mental block that is restricting your creativity?

I think you need to get high, at least once, before preaching at the rest of us about it.

I'm happy you don't believe in doing drugs, but no need to judge others. The writing process is complicated enough as it is, and there are literally an infinate number of ways of getting a story down on paper. Unless you are bathing in baby's blood to do so, it's cool. It's all about the story.

Jeff, thought about you and your Dad when the news broke about the Mets hiring Luis Rojas as their new manager. Any thoughts?

Here's your coffee. Hang in their with the 'peachment trial. The Dems get one more turn at bat after today. The GOP is scheduled to crank up on Saturday with everybody getting Sunday off. but there's scuttlebutt that old Moscow Mitch may push back the start of their time until Monday to get better ratings.

Let me know when you feel the need of a shot or two of Beaver Breath Brandy in your coffee. Anybody else need a drink or two?

Yeah, I am at least thankful we got to laugh at how the Mets hired Carlos Beltran, and then fired him before he could manage a single game.

Impeachment hearings start AGAIN in an hour. I'll half-listen to it in the background.

Story of the day, from Fox "News": https://www.foxnews.com/travel/passenger-at-chicago-airport-steals-marijuana-from-cannabis-amnesty-box. There's a weed amnesty box where you can drop your weed in and not get busted before you board the plane (our airport has one too). Some incoming passenger reached into the box and took the weed. And apparently there are no rules to what happens to the weed: "The Chicago Department of Aviation and the Chicago police would be responsible for overseeing, emptying and disposing of materials found within the boxes." Wonder how they'll dispose of it?

Not much else going on. Thank you for the set up, dearest Curvy T Unquesnchable.

Coffee please.

EDIT: One of the very last posts on the Shard-o-verse thread EVER is up now. I'm in the process of putting the whole damn book together. Finally. https://forum.lushstories.com/yaf_postst54177p3_The-Shardoverse.aspx
Of course! And for so many different reasons!

If you share some kinks is the obvious reason, but it goes deeper than that. How someone writes is a HUGE window into the soul, it tells you about their sense of humor, the way they see the world, the way they see other people, the way they see sex and relationships. What details are important enough to them to emphasize? What details do they leave out entirely? Do they hurry to the ending, or do they linger over dialogue and description?

Of course, that ginormous tits thing doesn't hurt. smile
How am I four days late to this!?

Hope you had a very happy birthday, Larry. You are a good writer and a good friend.

My fave Floyd album!

Woke up early, couldn't get back to sleep. Wah! Now I am tired and irritable (what's new? my daughters would say!).

Serious Godzilla-sized congratulations to Tonya for being Awesome. Of course, we all alreasy knew that, but it's nice to see it made official. Good luck with your daughter-in-law and her new baby. And thanks, as always, for the set-up.

T-God, good luck with your daughter's upcoming birth as well.

Lotsa work to do today. Like Bill, I don't know how much longer I can listen to the impeachment hearings, but I will give it another shot today. I wish it were baseball season - I'd much rather be listening to baseball. Though listening/watrching baseball without my Dad is gonna be weird and surreal, and I will miss him.

Coffee please.

I just clicked to play this, and the boobs of your avatar are bouncing along to the beat in perfect time!

Me, I'm boring, still listening to the Senate impeachment hearings. Yes, they are dull, but I keep expecting something exciting to happen (there were a couple exciting moments yesterday).
Tonya is my only friend on Lush who is also a Facebook friend too! And I consider myself lucky to count her as a friend, in any context.

She is tireless in the way she supports others, both her actual family in RL, and her family here at Lush. She nearly always sets up coffee for all the barflies at Rumps, every frikkin morning, with no complaints, and tells us about her day in such gentle, positive, even words. She supports other writers, always promoting the stories of others, always giving out help and advice. She's a talented writer and a great judge of other's writing.

I can't think of a better person here to be recognised as Awesome.

Thank you! Mike says hi, and wishes you and the family well. We talk probably every couple of weeks, and text each other often. Did I ever tell you that he thought you making your wife's ring out of wood (I think it's wood, at least--I don't recall you discussing metalworking) was both sweet and awesome? I thought so, too, but I can't recall if he was still on the site when you announced the engagement.

It's unfortunate that Mike felt he had to leave the site, he was a talented and prolific writer and he was a great contributor to the forums as well. Thank you for the view. Only his collaborations remained when he deleted his account, and of those, I am about 95% on Losing It being his favourite.

Mike was so terribly patient and kind and gentle with me, always, in everything. There's a reason that Losing It is my only collaboration--same as there's a reason that I've only posted eighteen pieces in what, five years? I'm complicated, at best, and that's on a good day. Mike tolerated my need for stupidly precise detail--the silly things, like the type of oysters and precisely how they were served. Or the description of the stock of my personal stationery, commissioned from Wren Press, London, on the occasion of my 12th birthday. Silly things.

Anyway. Yes, I miss him. Brilliant, kind, and sexy as fuck. And I know it pains him to peruse the site--or at least check in on the view count for Losing It--and not be able to allow himself to rejoin. It is what it is.

Bill, a lovely coffee please for my friend--check that, whatever he wants, please. Coffee, adorned with whatever passes for the best bourbon in this place, along with milk and sugar, for me. Please.

I miss him. Miss Virgogo too, who left at the same time, for similar reasons. She wrote the best piece of flash on Lush (The Plumber), and I wish I'd saved a copy.

Tell Mike thanks. He dropped me a note back when Beyond won a comp, but I haven't heard anything sonce. Tell him they were wooden rings, made with wood veneer, regular wood glue, a LOT of sanding and multiple coats of sealer, and copious amounts of love. The secret ingredient. You can get instuctions at https://www.instructables.com/id/Bent-Wood-Rings/

Would he consider returning?

Coffee for me, and for Jen. And a running offer of a drink to Mike should he ever return to these pages.

Stay warm Kat and watch out for the falling Iguanas

This headline made my day yesterday. I had an old girlfriend who had a pet iguana. Hated that thing. So did her cats. Cold and scaly, and since she got it at the end of our relationship I always saw it as a walking reptillian metaphor for our doomed future.

Work is stupid busy these days. Wah. I had the Senate impeachment hearings on yesterday (and listened to them late into the night), but I get so pissed off at them allowing NO witnesses and NO evidence (isn't it a trial!?) I don't know if I can take listening to them again today.

A round of whatever anyone likes on me. And by me I mean the next person who walks into the bar.

Coffee please.
