Verbs coffee should be ready. BTW do you like/or have you lightly ironed your paper before reading?

Thanks for the magical brew. I'd like to have my paper with baseball news, ironed or not, but sadly that is a couple months away.

Thanx for the tunes!

Damn funny.

That's pretty funny. RR really does seem like the nicest, funniest man alive.

Hi to everyone, particularly the Lovely Setters of Up. Hey Gill!

I now know more about Sea Monkeys than I have any right to know. I am threatening to buy some. LJ is not amused. Brine shrimp or alien spores? You decide.

I've had some experience in the ice dildo department, btw. smile I recommend an icicle shape and a VERY light touch.

I'll be in the corner with the paper, waiting for baseball season. Not much writing for me today, I am grumpily running errands with my daughters all day.

A hot cup of coffee would melt my icy heart, barkeep.
The food I woke up to today! A bacon and English muffin sandwich, with a little hash brown oval on the side, and a fuck ton of coffee.

What dessert would you most like to have with supper tonight?

I’ve been to the think tank and survived! ( takes a big gulp of hot chocolate. Then realizes it’s really hot.) Fans my mouth a bit. H-o-t really hot! Looks around, hoping no one saw that. Takes a brownie and snags a newspaper at the bar. Sits and reads.

Yep. Tough crowd in there. Here at the bar, everyone is slightly drunk, and semi-horny is the default condition, so things are much more chill. Insults are rare. May I borrow a section of your paper?

Hey Canadians, I see the BJays got the best available center fielder in the game in George Springer. Mets were in the running, but got outspent.

Lazy day. LJ is cooking a very late breakfast. I am puttering around on the internet, and will do some writing after. I didn't even start the evil cat story I was blathering on about. Instead? KILLER SEA MONKEYS! How can I go wrong with that premise?

The idea that praying mantises are actually from outer space is rattling around in my skull too. Mantid lovers? Thoughts?

Suze, if your song needs a killer Theremin solo, give me a holler.

A cup of coffee would be a home run.
Most of my friends, some of my family. Clearly I have no shame. smile

hi everyone
A large iced coffee sounds yummy in the tummy right about now.

Oh wow so many sprinkly donuts to choose from
*picks a rainbow sprinkles one*
*Takes my coffee and donut over to the table and hunts for comics from the newspaper *
A baseball legend passed away peacefully at the age of 86 Hank Aaron..so many records and history made. He broke Babe Ruth Home run record . He played for the Atlanta Braves for 20 years (1954 to 1974)

Not much going on today in my neck of the woods.
Good to see this place so busy!
Good to see everyone here!

Sorry about your man Hank, Sara. He was a true star.

I sent some warm weather down your way to help console you. Enjoy it, big storm front coming through Monday.

Hey Sharon, welcome to the best dive in Lushtown.

Hi to everyone else too. The day is done, and I am ready for an Herbal Furball.
Ha. A few, yes. Let's go with the girl who stole my favorite Tom Petty tee shirt.

How do you refill your Pez dispensers: carefully unwrapping the pack and putting them all in at once, or letting them all spill out and loading them one by one?

Hey Verbal! Think I'll join you in that coffee but with a healthy add of Grand Marnier. One advantage of working from home is nobody can tell that you're drunk. Between insects and hair dresses I'm not quite sure what to make of this fine establishment these days.
I found a few cases of Jameson's in the storeroom but I noticed the proper government seals were missing so I put in the back of my SUV. We don't want to see our fine barkeep in any trouble now do we?
Looking forward to a productive weekend, since I'm only minimally behind at work I may actually get some leisure time. Going for a walk in the woods Sunday, I'll take a few pics and maybe share so our Southern friends can enjoy the pristine beauty of a Canadian winter. I know you're jealous.

Pull up a chair. Want a section of the paper?

I think Carl puts out those Jameson's bottle as decoys to keep us from his true prize: that bottle of White Dog. Until we find it I'll put this bottle of Angel's Envy on the bar.

Emma, now I want a mantis.

Write and sell a novel

See Trump behind bars
Road trip with my daughters to NYC
Sneak some of my Dad's ashes into Citi Field (where the Mets play) and release them
See the Northern lights

Have you ever jumped from a frightening height?

It won't stay still so no other pictures, but we're calling it Lupine smile I do have a picture of the other one.

So where do the little buggers live? In an aquarium or a terrarium? What do they eat? More bugs?

Thanks for the tunes, Fuzz, and for the set-up, Curvy.

Lord, it's nice to wake up to calm, normal headlines. It seems like for four years, headlines were designed to put us all in a state of fear and anger and divisiveness. Maybe everything will be okay.

Starting a new story. A closed room. Inside, a sleeping newborn baby, a wheelchair bound old woman, and an evil cat (or something masquerading as a cat).

Coffee please. I'll be in the corner with the paper, trying to get the sight of Ping's pubic hair dress out of my head.

Offering a guy's perspective

Maybe change up your avatar, there's nothing wrong with yours but "The Darkness" may not have the most positive connotations for some. There's enough darkness in the world already.

Yeah, people warned me that an avatar of a giant stupid flying fire-breathing turtle "may not have the most positive connotations for some," but I think it worked out pretty well for me. Ignore the pearl-clutchers! Fight the power!

Generally when I send a message to someone, I either never hear back at all, or maybe I get a response and we have a pleasant enough conversation for a bit and then at some point I don't hear anything back.

People really like to talk about themselves. And it's fun to learn about other people. Be curious about them. Ask them about their lives.

I remember it being difficult to meet people here at first too. Good luck!
I don't think I'd flash anyone - for a guy that'd be kind of threatening to the woman.

I could dig voyeur-ing a sexy neighbor. Can I bring a friend?

If you're both working on Word, you can share docx files via Lush PM now.

Too cool! I remember asking for this years ago! So glad we can send documents now. The fact that I didn't know shows how little I've been writing here lately.

I didn't really get around to watching the highlights of the Inauguration until last night on Youtube. Not ashamed to admit I got teary several times. Lady Gaga gesturing at the flag during "that our flag was still there," and at the crowd for "home of the brave." I got goosebumps just now, describing it.

And MY GOD, Amanda Gorman. What an incredibly poised, incredibly talented young woman. I'd post the video but I'm sure everyone has seen it already. Deeply moving. People will be watching her read that poem in 50 years, I predict. She's entered history.

I did a reading on Youtube last night. It went well.

I hope everyone is having a spectacular morning.

Coffee would put the bow on the beautiful present that is this day.

Hey James go and look behind the bottle of Jameson
and bring the bottle of Wheated Mash

I'm reading in 5 minutes and I am nervous. Hit me with a fast shot of that White Dog, Carl.
She's got that smart sexy lawyer thing going on. I'm a sucker for smart sexy lawyers. About to marry one.

We Americans sometimes forget that there is no Free in Freedom

I'll take a taste of that McFuzz, if it's okay with you.

And you are right, I think the last several years have taught us freedom is difficult to maintain, and requires constant nurturing and vigilance.

I'll drink to that.

Thanks, Dubya-dubya. Maybe I'll submit it as a micro. Those things are fuckin HARD.

My mantis arrived! Apparently it's name is Lexi according to my 3 year old who named it the instant he saw it. No idea if we have a boy or girl but they look absolutely gorgeous when fully grown.

He's pretty frikkin cute. So colorful! All the boring Mantids in my part of the world are envious.

HUGS

So nice to wake up to a new President. I'm tired of waking up in the morning checking to news to see what fresh hell President ManBaby may have wrought in the night. All I want is a boring four years, with some significant steps toward climate change and healthcare for all.

It's also so nice to see my various feeds so full of hope and optimism. For a change.

I did indeed type the words THE END yesterday. So today I will bask in the glow of all this good faith and work on rewrites. And practice for the reading tonight.

I sincerely hope, regardless of your political beliefs, that everyone has a fantastic day today.

A round for everyone, on me Bill. I'll have a coffee.
Happy birthday Larry! I hope you have a magnificent day!

Godzilla bows in awe and wonder.

She dressed like my whore. I walked her through the crowded hotel lobby, hand in hand, a drop of cum dripping recklessly down her neckline. When we got to our room I took her shoulder and pushed her to her knees. She sighed, closed her eyes, opened her mouth.

We left the door open.

Pretty sure we've had a few suspiciously orange coloured Ronald Crumps trying to sneak through with wide eyed innocent claims it's not based on anyone in particular.

Please, please, please link a couple for us. We have to sweat through 24 more hours of that feckless knob of a President. It would ease my fears.

Not a mod, and yes, my first instinct was exactly what WW said--lazy writing--but lazy ways are sometimes effective ways. I think if how you first see a character is "he looked like Richard Nixon after a five day coke bender," that's a shorthand that gets both you and the reader to the place you wanna go very quickly.

In other words, trust your writing. If your brain suggests a living person, dig into the "why" behind it a little. It might work.

I am so sorry you lost your father. I kinda hate this age I have reached. Friends are having health issues and losing parents. Part of life, I know.

Anyways, I am getting all my tears out so I can be strong for my friend. She got worse news today about her cancer spread.

Kimmie, thanks for that. Some losses change the world around you forever. As crushing as it is, there is a blessing in grieving, in keeping memory close, and in honoring the continuing influence someone has on you, like the moon forever pulling on the tides.

Pretty cool about the mantises too! We see the occasional mantis here, and they sell them at garden stores here. I'm always temped to buy one. Lotsa spiders here too. I ended up becoming a pretty big fan. Because, if you have to live in a place where spiders wildly outnumber humans, you might as well enjoy it. Sadly we have no dragonflies. Fireflies either.

Fully expect to write the words THE END today. Always exciting. I'm reading on Youtube tomorrow too, after the Inauguration. No, I am not going to get political, though I suspect others might. Lemme know if you want a link, anyone. I might even say NIPPLE again!

We bailed a movie this weekend: the Anne Hathaway flick Locked Down, which, despite being a heist flick AND starring the lovely Anne, bored me silly. The 30 Coins Spanish horror movie continues to be good. And like I said earlier, Promising Young Woman is dark and fearlessly written.

HUGS

Happy birthday, Larry! Happy birthday to Dolly too!

Coffee, if it's not too much trouble.
She's smart and hot, and she's a lawyer! So many of my favorite women are lawyers!

don't believe the rumors - it's not based on me.

I actually thought of you during it. I won't spoil anything, but the movie had an unerring internal logic that is gut wrenching by the time you get to the end.

I've been thinking about this movie every since I saw it.
