I get more comments on poems but less views. Competition entries generally generate more votes/comments because (if people are like me) the entrants read one another's work. Obviously some categories get more views. I write love stories and put them in straight sex because I'm a garden hoe. I don't read as much as I'd like. I make a point of always reading all the competition entries just because I'm at least giving back then. I kind of try to gauge the reaction to a story from the comments I receive; are they generic or really enthusiastic? I was quite pleased with my last story. It's not one of my most popular but LYFBUZ loved it (he's an 11/10 btw) and Curvy even messaged me about the characters futures which was fun and awesome and she's awesome. So it made it worth it. Of course getting a million views and a hundred votes would be cool but as long as someone out there appreciates your effort, it's cool. Having said that, sprite even verifies my stories without reading them so I'm retiring from writing.
