I'll have exactly what Jen's having!

If y'all haven't read Verbal's new piece yet, go read it! It has a spot in my favourites; these things don't happen to any old story! smile

You kids today and your crazy punctuation. The days of the semi-colon are numbered; I mourn its coming demise.

no, no, no. I LURVE the semi-colon. having said that, i found this meme...

Warm lemonade with a healthy splash of pineapple juice, please. I'm so fancy. you already know. I'm in the fast lane. from LA to Tokyo.

verbal's new story seems right up my stray cat alley. And Scott's sounds wonderful too. will be checking them out ASAP.

No, it doesn't only remove hair above the surface. It isn't that different from waxing in my opinion, the only difference is that a sugar paste is used instead of wax strips. The paste is warm and kind of thick, like sticky slime or honey, and it will rip the hair out same as the wax strips do. Definitely not pleasant either, although less painful than wax - the difference is that you don't go AGAINST the hair, but IN THE DIRECTION of the hair, so it's less painful and does less damage to the skin. I think they say the benefit is that you can even prepare the paste at home (never tried it though), also it's more natural (no chemicals involved while they usually are in the wax) and suitable even for sensitive and allergic skin. I'd say the effect lasts pretty much the same as wax, for me it's every three weeks or so.

oh, okay. thanks for the great info.

might give it a whirl!

Would love to be able to sort an author's work by date.

mine is always in date order.
I've never rewritten a story after publishing. The thing's out there. People have read it. Any edits should be made while it's ALL STILL MINE. As soon as it reaches the eyes of a reader, it's done. Set in stone. I don't really know why. I don't want to change the meaning/impression/emotions someone has gotten out of it. Besides, the story represents the author I was when I posted it. It's like a line on a CV, if that makes sense. I can make small spelling/punctuation corrections but not much more.
I've vaguely heard of it but my only issue is that I THINK it only removes hair above the surface of the skin. So you'd have to do it far more often than waxing. Is this the case? What's the procedure like anyhow? Anything beats shaving!
Apostrophes are hella important. They should always be correct. I'm unlikely to go into a café which has a missing/incorrect apostrophe on its sign. Mistakes do happen (been there, still am there sometimes!) but really, you should put in maximum effort.
Gil, no need to thank me! I'm sure someone else would've started it, considering how many people stopped by to wish you a great day.

Weather ain't bad.

I'm so glad the competition has closed. I got so sick of it! I read every entry!! As for those who didn't enter, don't worry, I'm fine with it. The fact that you all at least considered entering is enough for me.

A Hannah, please.
Perhaps he met someone else or his circumstances changed? Only he can tell you why his mind has changed so dramatically .
Still in bed at 9:14. Need to get up and check if it's rainy. The weather will dictate my entire weekend.

Coffee, please.
Don't have one and my partner is too selfish to let me post a picture of his dick. Sorry.

Is my sarcasm detector broken?

or is it opposite day?

nah fam. unless there's something fun planned, i HATE being home. The weekend gets the chores done but an extra day? Wtf for?! It just feels like my life is being wasted.

It has been said that I'm a weirdo.

Just got some great news: I am allowed to ignore the bank holiday as the office will be open! Yay! Genuinely relieved.

A Hannah, please.
I love me a bit of faith. I'd be depressed as hell without it.

And I still ain't selling my soul.
Lemonade, please. Work is almost through and then we have yet ANOTHER bank holiday weekend. I'm gonna be bored outta my brain. I mean, Spring Bank Holiday? The first Monday of May off? Which lazy bastard came up with this?!

I commonly cut and paste the entire text code onto a document. This not only allows me to keep them for reuse, but I can also add 'book covers' or any other link I prefer. The links and fonts are coded by text, so they are easily copied and replaced with a single paste.

thanks for the advice, Milik.
Guys guys guys

I'm no monster. Jen has extenuating circumstances and, as i said previously, is therefore exempt.

As for that Emerson fella...
Psst! I started a birthday thread for our irreplaceable Gil. Get yo asses over there and wish her a delightful day. Or else.
I know I'm a tad early but i did not want to forget!

Gil is the kind of person that just makes you smile. What more do you need from a friend? she's been nothing but delightful since i joined and i know she must be very special to a lot of people here.

so i hope you have a very very happy birthday!!

Wow. Honest and spare, and totally lacking in false sentiment. This is one of my favorites of the whole competition. Read. This.

I think you especially liked that it featured the word DESSICATED.

(Or dessicating. i forget. top poem either way.)

omg yes! I adore skittles. We ARE long lost twins!
Read it earlier and was very impressed! This definitely deserves to be a contender.
