This is true. The more I think abut it though, the more I feel that my fear is people knowing something that I don't necessarily want them to know. I'm a writer first and foremost and only my husband has ever read anything fictional I've written. I don't want my family, his family, my co-workers, clients to know what I write/fantasise about. I'm not scared of their reaction. It's just something I'd prefer to keep private. Writing smut doesn't define who I am in the way my sexual orientation does. I simply don't want say my brother to stumble across my profile and know that I'm heavily into sex. I'm not afraid of his reaction but I simply don't think it's any of his business. I hope I'm making sense!

fair enough. if you're comfortable with being yourself on here, i'm happy for you. i just am not comfortable with revealing personal details on a site like this. let's be honest; the internet can have crazy people on it and i have no intention of inviting them into my RL.

and i really don't see the parallels between coming out as gay and revealing your true identity on a sex stories site.

No pics on profiles or no avatar? I don't really look at profiles, but red avatars...really, it only takes 45 seconds to shoot a pic with your phone, or maybe longer to figure out how to use Lush's stock avatars. I only recently added a pic to my own profile, and when I do look at a profile, I tend not to look at the picture galleries unless there's some good reason for me to do so. Or, more awfully, if the only thing on the profile is a pile of dick pics...aargh. Then I have no choice but to get out of that page as quickly as possible.


of course i trust YOU, Jen! I guess I meant actual face photos. Someone who's comfortable with their actual face being on here is someone I can't understand! so long as an avatar resembles you or an interest of yours, it's fine by me.

Over the weekend, I had an idea (don't laugh, it happens) for a Lush writing contest; use a famous nude painting as the subject. That is to say, create a 'story behind the painting'. To be honest, I had 'The Naked Maja' in mind but anything short of Picasso's 'Nude Descending a Staircase' might be a good choice. Not a particularly original idea, but I don't recall Lush ever going with that sort of theme. Any thoughts?



I love this idea, but I'd probably find it easier if it encompassed ALL paintings (of people). I've never really seen a nude painting I've liked, but I could totally fuck about with the Mona Lisa.
