It must be about the right time then to run a new "Attention Whore" competition don't you think?
That could well put you over the half a million profile views!
If you haven't checked out Annie's new playmate on her profile, you should.
Our resident code monkey has been undertaking some major code changes over the last few weeks, and it's been tested on our sister site.
A change to the config file knocked out the link to the forums here.
It has been patched and everyone should now be able to login as usual.
If not, please try logging out and in again as this resets your site cookie.
I entered ten puns into a contest to see which one would win.
No pun in ten did.
"I think I inserted it too far in."
"There's nothing wrong with hydroxychloroquine. GIMME MOAHRRRRR."
"Toupée or not Toupée. What was the question again?"
It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.
Google analytics keep me informed.
Making the information available to the public, for one of the top 3 erotic story sites on the web, wouldn’t make a great deal of business sense!
I've promoted this new competition on our socials now.
I'm looking forward to reading these stories.
This category was always meant to be for stand-alone stories. The limit is there to represent a writing challenge.
We have been getting people submitting entries which are clearly meant to be part of a series / multi-chaptered. That kind of defeats the purpose of the category. Those are fine in the flash fiction category, but not something we want in micro-fiction.
Policy Update:
People can write multiple genuinely stand-alone stories that feature the same characters or occur in the same "story universe". But they shouldn't be linked, titled or tagged as a series.
This policy update will be enforced from now onwards.
It would be helpful if writers who have pieces already verified fitting the now "disallowed" criteria, go back and amend their stories so that they aren't seen as a precedent.
As we've stated before, this new category is a work in progress. Please bear with us as we endeavour to get it right.
Thank you for your understanding.
I changed it last night as a temporary measure, as a spammer was bot posting in the forums every 3-4 seconds. Hundreds of posts, which I gave up cleaning up after their account was already deleted.
If we'd seen it earlier, we could have blocked the IP and deleted the member. But that is not a permanent solution to the issue.
There's very little reason for people to post more than once a minute, so I thought it would be a good way to slow them down while Gav works on a fix.
The trouble with all this kind of tracking, is that you are constantly adding resource upon resource upon resource, which bogs down the servers and ultimately will end in a poor user experience.
When they have moved on and realise this site is going to give them nothing, I'll put it back to how it was.
I can now see why many sites these days don't even bother with forums. They are one of the most time consuming, if not the most time consuming part of the site from an admin point of view.
