I knew that! Agreed, there are some excellent ones...

Yeah right - this is just you pitching for a comp you're going to win ;)

You know all the other "poets" on this site are, quite frankly, hopeless

Sure, as long as your webcam isn't broken.

It's not broken, that's just how I look
Looking at your friends list most of the girls you're adding look under 23. Maybe that's where you're going wrong.
Quote by jollylolly

Yes. Maybe you just haven't attracted them.

Should I send her an FR?

Can we change the order of the listing that pops up when you click on a tag go from newest to oldest instead of the way it is now. I was looking for a recent story that had a certain tag and something from 2009 popped first. Please?

^^^^ Definitely this ^^^^

"You're a cocksucker," Naomi said. Despite Rick's denials and protests, she stood her ground: "You're a cocksucker."

Delete this thread please.

Oh yeah, this place doesn't work like that - especially when you start slagging off the only people who can do it for you.

I wasn't aware that an individual user's name was associated with the score given. Personally, though, I just take joy in having my story read at all. Comments and scoring are a bonus.

It's not usually something you can pick up on but some people keep a close look on the scores on their stories and every time a person votes on a story it will show up on their timeline. So if they have a run of so-called perfect 5s and then get a 4, they know who gave it.

Lush has a number of people with exceptionally fragile egos
So, you don't want any help to improve your writing you just I want it accepted as it is. Your errors won't make your stories more "fun".

Yes, it sucks to be you but that's no reason to complain. There are plenty of other websites that will take your stories without batting an eyelid. The comments you'll get on them will be far more barbed and offensive than anything you'll get here.

Take it as free advice rather than as an insult.

Ah, sarcasm. Always so very useful. Thank you for your help.

Well it was either that or a dull diatribe about exclusivity and division. I think some playful sarcasm made the point equally well. It made Dani laugh anyway.

And just so we don't send the thread off topic…

Friend comments on stories visible at the top of comments
Why stop there? Why not have votes on stories by Gold authors going from 3-7 instead of 1-5 - they're bound to be that much better than stories written by people from steerage. Or maybe have it so that Gold authors can limit comments to Gold members only and keep the riff-raff out.
The ability to mute individuals on Friends Activity - those addicted to posting on every word game forum mainly
So how does it work if an account is deleted? Does the co-writer credit disappear or is it replaced by "Co-written with another"?
The difference lies in the personality of the sub. Those looking for "daddys" generally have some kind of unresolved Elektra Complex issue going on while those looking for a master tend to show traits of codependency - compliant, putting the needs of others first. The narcissistic tendencies of self-styled "masters" provide an opportunity to fulfil the desires of the codependent. The codependent needs to serve, the narcissist needs to feel exalted. In the most extreme cases this can prove self-destructive as they both symbiotically feed each others addictions.
My guess would be that the strikethrough tag was somehow activated and not switched off

strikethrough, bold and italics can be activated in black boxes using -, * and _ respectively at either end of the word (without spaces) or phrase you wish to alter. Going on just your description it sounds like the "open strikethrough" command was given but the closing command wasn't. The same thing happens on the people search results page if someone uses bold on their profile, the whole of the rest of the page is set to bold.

Of course it could be something completely unrelated
Autoplaying grooveshark is perhaps the most obnoxious thing you can add to your profile. It truly baffles me why anyone would do it

Do people have this purely to make visitors leave their profiles? I'd love a setting that would block grooveshark completely. You may have picked up, that I don't particularly like it

I'd love it if we had the extra toolbar features we have here on the forums, available when writing a PM to someone. Even just the text choices, bold, italic, colour etc....

All I can say to this is NO!!!!!
Is that with Safari? I've switched to Chrome on my iPhone 5 for web browsing and it seems to behave better (surprisingly). I'd guess that the Youtube videos are the source of the problem.

That said, I don't use the mobile version - it's like Lush Lite to me. The full version works fine for me though the new icons have made things a lot more fiddly.

As I've said before it would be much better if the design of the full site wasn't a fixed width, then there'd be no need for a separate mobile version but I can certainly appreciate that wouldn't be a small job
If you like a story why not comment on it or rate it - I'm sure the author would appreciate as much if not more than an unlinked review on the forum

You could even add it to your favourites - that way any time someone visits your profile they see a link to the story and can enjoy themselves (to add to favourites click the link under the author av)

Was I mean? Am I going to see butt-hurt posts now? Here, let me get my tiny violin. Now they can play us a tune.

Hey, they sound good...

until the time stamp issue is resolved, i'm on strike.

Is that as of now or in two hours time?

Oh yeah, I've felt your warm glow inside.

It was awesome.

I think that was all the wine you had
I checked the other day and discovered I'd scored just seven stories in the last two years. Most of them were first time authors or people I felt had been unfairly voted down. They were all 5s.

I've said before that votes are pretty meaningless. 5/5 for what exactly? Being perfect literature? For effort? For being a friend?

Comments on the other hand are like birthday cards. Intrinsically worthless with a clichéd message but they still give you a warm glow inside.

So........ It's alright everyone commenting on it, but nothing gets done. Who is responsible for running the site? The Mods do a good job, but I don't suppose the have much of a hand in the actual mechanics of it. Who is/are the manager/s/Owners? Is it such a difficult job to put the clock right and set it to GMT?

I assume your name is ironic. The tech guy here, Gav, maintains this in his spare time. I'd imagine reseting the clocks to keep you happy is pretty low on his list of priorities.

My advice: don't use Lush forums to find out what time it is
The chances of someone you know randomly ending up here are extremely remote - that's not to say it can't happen though.

In the last month over a 1,000 people from the UK who have been members for 6 months or more have visited lush - that's about 1 in 60,000 of the population.

While they sounds out-landish odds consider this: it's more than likely that someone on your facebook friends list is a friend of someone, who is a friend of someone, who is a friend of another regular on Lush
