The error pages (404 & 500) would not be included within this total.

You were seeing an isolated incident with a configuration problem with SignalR (which is now fixed).

Although you did highlight this problem to me, you're better off filling out the contact us form in future. This will ensure I get notification of the problem as soon as possible.

It was still doing it yesterday when I posted. The new "backbone" script that's now in operation seems to be behaving a lot better - and the effect is noticeable.

Wow. There is always one in every crowd. This post wasn't about challenging women for their choices or wanting them to change (until it was hijacked by a troll); it's simply (but not simple enough for some, I see) a curiosity-based, non-challenging question about the mindset of females and the choices they make.

"Move on," you say? From what? From intellectually curiosity about women? From wanting to hear their opinions and rationalizations? I think I shall not as this is the essence of discourse. But as you appear to be a man posting his unsolicited views in the "Ask Gals" forum, you would do well to take your own flippant advice. And please, for the love of god, put a shirt on that rug.

Thanks for the responses from the females who actually read the OP carefully, and thoughtfully answered.

Welcome to Lush forums, you might want to read the guidelines. Nowhere does it say that "Ask the girls" or "Ask the guys" are limited to replies from the gender concerned.

What most forum regulars understand is that most new users posting on the "ask the girls" forum are simply men looking to generate a list of willing victims for their own particular fetish. Credit the ladies of Lush with some intelligence; no matter how florid you put it, the reason you like voice chat is that it keeps your hands free to tug on your dick while you whisper sweet nothings. Women can multi-task.

When I reply to a post like this it's to share my knowledge and experience. You obviously see that as worthless - which is your right. However, when I write a forum post it shows up in the timelines of over 150 Lush ladies - some of which are nosey enough to find out what I've said, some of them will contribute to the discussion themselves.

When you, or any man who posts in this section of the forum, cries "no men" - it shouts out that you're demanding attention and scared of anyone that could distract it. This is also why you like voice - it's far more difficult for the object of temporary affections to be chatting with someone else.

"Intellectual curiosity"? Seriously? Most intelligent women here prefer text based communication because it gets in their head, not just their panties.

You're new to the forum and new to interacting with people on Lush. We all make mistakes - it only becomes a problem when we repeat them.

We're serving 50 million pageviews per month, from only 2 servers. It's not surprising there are a few hiccups.

We are looking at adding a few more servers, early 2013.

How many of 50 million page views are the 404 screen being called up by this signalr script? It calls the error screen in the background every 2 seconds we're online!

24KB every two seconds that's 0.7MB per minute 40MB an hour - just by having your browser screen open! It's no wonder people's mobile data is being eaten up just by browsing the site
Most women don't like moving on to or msn simply because they don't like it - accept it and move on

I know of many women on here who have pretty much felt forced on to to "prove that they are women" - of course once they do the pressure moves on to appearing on cam. Once women do this once they become more and more reluctant to voice chat with anyone - especially with some one they've only just met.

If you want to talk to women on voice or phone you need to develop trust. That requires a lot of work and women want to know if you're willing to put that work in

ok, i have a boyfriend, and a lesbian lover but neither of them want to have a threesome... i really want one as both sexes turn me on. is it wrong to want one even though they don't? help meeee

It's "wrong" of you not to respect either of your partners' wishes. It sounds like they both have no interest in having sex with the other party, so the whole thing will basically be an exercise in you being watched having sex by your other partner. Lots of fun for you, not so much for everyone else.

You appear to be getting away with having two partners anyway - don't push your luck
Right so she still gets to be friends with you but she doesn't have to do all the relationship rubbish and she sure as hell doesn't go through the whole sleeping with you stuff. Good for her.

Sucks to be you, however.

Seriously, she's taking you for a ride - and not the good type. Put some distance between the two of you, you pretty much already realise that she's no good to be around. If she's texting you or asking to meet up - it's just attention seeking. Avoid it.

I'm in full agreement with DD - get some rebound sex in - nothing heavy.
Knife play, kidnappings, poisonings, abusive relationships and death

The Brothers Grimm would never make it past the verifiers here ;)

You're the guy telling us to unload our regrets so we can have a fresh start in 2013!

Only the unwanted ones x Should I regret even starting this? hahaha
I wonder if people confuse guilt with regret? (Maybe I am, here.)

Guilt is very negative, often misplaced and largely the result of something done intentionally. With regret, most often the only person you have to apologise to is yourself.

Regret shouldn't be paralysing but it should be motivating enough to make sure we do better in the future. It's ok to make a mistake, it's not ok to repeat it.

Surely a life with no regret would be like a life with no guilt: who would be impelled to repair any damage when you don't feel any of the consequences of your actions?

Was any of this really necessary? Did I miss something? From 3 postings I couldn't gather that much information about KnickerSniffer.
Except maybe his fantasy had become reality and he isn't prepared for the consequences.

I'm slightly surprised at the level of hostility in this thread.

The tattoo story? Come on, it's got weak urban legend written all over it

I could easily select all of them, there are too many things I sometimes wish I had done differently. The most important thing is learning from your mistakes, this is why I try not to beat myself up when I think about certain things.

Life goes on, we grow, change and, sometimes, we even mature. I appreciate the offer but I'm going to hang onto my regrets, they make me who I am and I'm happy with the person I've become.

Really? What about that... you know... that thing... come on, this a free pass
Some people will tell you they regret nothing. However, normal, non-sociopaths pick up one or two along the way of a well-rounded life. Here's your chance to drop off any Lush regrets you may have, enjoy Christmas and start again in the New Year.

This is an amnesty, so no questions asked - you don't have to explain what it is (unless you really want to). Just select what it is above and be on your way with a new, lightened load. Merry Christmas
It's just as possible to psychologically self-harm as it is physically. You don't have to feel "sad" to suffer from depression, in many cases the biggest problem for people with depression is the inability to feel anything.

Go to your doctor, talk about depression. Hopefully you're just going through a bad patch and things will pick up for you. Take plenty of long walks and get plenty of sleep.

Stephen King for sure and I know many may consider this sacrilege but Ernest Hemingway!! So fucking boring!!

Hemingway isn't every one's cup of tea, but he did manage to write a short story in just six words...

"For Sale: baby shoes, never worn"

(well it's an apocryphal story but i like it)
Sorry - but I'm calling bullshit on this.

A tattoo design that you looked up? how did you do this? Old Moore's tattoo almanac? Please link to an image of one of these tattoos and the site that explains the meaning?

You've already posted on this forum about how you get off on the sloppy seconds of other guys. What were you hoping for here?
@ gav

Could the slow server speeds be anything to do with this...
GET http://www.lushstories.com/signalr?transport=longPolling&connectionId=0e3XXXXX6-6f2c-485e-a0b5-7dXXXXXfc14&connectionData=%5B%7B%22name%22%3A%22backbone%22%7D%5D&messageId=B,XXF|FEZ8,0|FEXX,6|FXX_,0|FDXX,0&groups=%5B%22Backbone.4ea7bb6XXXXXXX10de08d4b5d%22%5D&tid=4&_=13XXXXXXXX476
This is calling a 24KB download EVERY 0.5 seconds that only results in a 404 error!?

For my papers and news stories I turn in, we have to double-space for readability purposes and editing. Otherwise, I single-space after a full stop.

That would be double-line spacing, wouldn't it?
Putting double spaces into anything that appears on the web is ineffective anyway* - you can put 50 spaces in and your browser will only render one space (it's so your can make your raw HTML prettier)

Double-spacing is an archaic throw-back to the days of mechanical type-writers. Modern word-processors do actually give you a larger space after a full stop automatically which is closer to what would have been used in moveable-type printing than just hitting space twice.

[* unless replaced by the HTML special character " "]
There is a slightly confusing thing that occurs if you try to accept a friends request from someone who has left the site.

If you click the accept button it will give you the "success" caption but of course no one has been added because the account is no longer active. The request also doesn't autodelete like a normal accepted request would.

Woo hoo! I have no idea what to write but I know that reading the entries is going to be pretty good fun! smile

I think we need to sit down and watch Doomsday Preppers on Nat Geo for inspiration - they must spend their whole life having "end of the world" sex

Doomsday Preppers
I read this and all I hear is "waaaah! waaaah! she won't give me head! waaaah!" Man the fuck up!

You come across as quite selfish, it wouldn't surprise me if very rarely make her orgasm or in anyway care about how she feels about sex. So she doesn't want to go down on you, this could easily be down to a bad experience with you or someone else beforehand - be it poor hygiene or a mis-guided belief that woman actually enjoy having a cock forced down their throat.

You state that you're bisexual - maybe she doesn't like the idea of where your cock might have been.

You need to talk it through with her but try seeing it from her side - it sounds like she needs to feel loved rather than used

Where could I find a site where there are woman willing to chat to guys. I don't want to meet or anything just chat online??? Seems all the woman these days just want to chat to woman

It is a fact that men outnumber women on this site 2:1, it's also a fact that many of those women are only interested in talking to women (for whatever reason they may have) - less than 30% of women on here who state a sexual orientation class themselves as "straight". This all means that if you want to chat to women on here you need patience and something to keep them interested.

In the chatrooms don't go straight to whisper or private - keep the conversation in the room moving and try to come across in some way interesting and not needy. Women have an abundant choice of men here and they all use that choice, if you want them to notice you you're going to have to put some work in.
Someone who doesn't know me, who doesn't normally comment on stories and who didn't think they'd enjoy the story saying they loved it and are inspired. Either that or "I work for a major publishing company, please accept a cheque for £200,000 for your first novel"
