Maybe I am one of maybe a very small group that listened to Joaquin Phoenix's ramble during the Oscars last night. "We feel entitled to artificially inseminate a cow, and when she gives birth, we steal her baby. Even though her cries of anguish are unmistakable. And then we take her milk that;s intended for her calf and we put it in our coffee and our cereal." I say he should spent just one day at a local family run Dairy farm in the US or even in Canada. But that would not have any "news bits" would it??
The question is should I posted this in the Rage Cage section?? I shall wait to hear from our own Sir McPing on this topic

You've done yourself a grave disservice. See the Joker. Sure, the dude's speeches are preachy and somewhat annoying, but his character portrayal IS the movie. There is a reason he won every award at all the awards shows. His portrayal is that good. BTW... there is a twist at the end that makes you go, hmmm. And then you question everything that has happened. Seriously. I think you'll really enjoy it. It's a stand alone, origin story.
Three highlights from the Oscars last night:
1. Frozen II song being sung in ten plus languages. That was goose bump rising. We are connected.
2. Parasite winning with grace, humility, integrity, and humour. Quoting Marty S. and thanking Tarantino was a class act. I said this before; Parasite had a Tarantino feel, but done with the panache of someone who knows the South Korean culture, as Tarantino knows Hollywood. And then they wanted to party. Good stuff.
3. Eminem. That song. It has that driving beat and it expresses so much about him, his struggles, and his life. It was a good movie too, especially the rap battle. Remember Brittany Murphy? I can't believe she's been gone for ten years. But a wonderful musical surprise. For him to get another chance, after avoiding the Oscars seventeen years ago, to come back and sing that homage was emotional for many. Did you see all the smiles in the audience? And a standing ovation? That was great stuff.
My wee girl is ill today, so we are home - me feeding her chicken noodle soup and hot honey water, and her eating and drinking them. Did I mention that I baked a cheesecake the other day? It was spectacular. Day two, it tasted better than day one. And at the start of day three, we have a quarter remaining. I suspect my daughter will say that each time she has a little more cheesecake, she feels a little better. Best I set aside some for my son. It's going fast...
Have A Good Day!

Thanks for the setup, Bill. Thanks for the brownies CTU!
I watched the oscars beginning to end last night, which is rare for me. Loved that Parasite did so well. And I loved that Brad Pitt and Bruce Dern and Renee Zelwiger won. I did not see Joker, but I found Jauquin Phoenix's speech annoying, and I was seriously bummed Adam Driver didn't win.
Sorry for all the probable misspellings in the last paragraph.
Daughter got a new cat - a 9 year old tortie named Nila (she changes pet's names a hundred times, so we will see if she actually settles on that one). Taking her to the vet in about 15 minutes - routine first check-up.

A total fabrication; sprite is actually a 69 year old widower living out his diabolical fantasies as a hedonistic 30-something sex hottie with more or less non-existent boundaries

Solo Origin Story. SOS. I think it's code.
You want wacky? See Parasite. It's available OnDemand now. You should watch it... TODAY!!!
Also, check out Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood. That's the one i want to win, but I think it'll be Parasite. 1917 is getting too much praise for a movie I think is epic in presentation but weaker in story compared to the rest.
I'm ready for my third rum 'n coke of the morning!
Also, just showered and got my working title for the comp... RMH. Them are the initials. Now, to just write the damn thing.

I also struggle with believing that his wife and daughters have been, as he says, so very supportive.

My littley got into a bit of a mishap yesterday. As most know she draws all the time and she loves Halloween. During recess she was drawing a haunted house. She was putting animatronics in it and one was a headless lady. The teacher told her no drawings with people with their head cut off. She thought she was in trouble and had a small meltdown at school. She was better once she hears none of us were mad.
