I am forever confused as to why there's a $20K loan forgiveness.
Many of my friends worked while attending school and some paid off loan before they graduated. If they can do it, so can others.
The average medical school debt is $202,450, excluding premedical undergraduate and other educational debt. The average medical school graduate owes $250,990 in total student loan debt. 73% of medical school graduates have educational debt. 43% of indebted medical school graduates have premedical educational debt.
from my understanding, studying to become a doctor is pretty much a full time gig, pretty sure i'd want my doctor to have spent his time learning his trade instead of working as a waiter so he can pay off his medical debts. maybe i'm just weird like that.
this is why, btw, we have fewer people going into the medical and healthcare profession in the states. also, my parents were able to afford a house in san francisco. if they could do it, anyone could do it. not like the prices of houses have gone up or anything.
