AI will destroy human visual art and literature, as most of your jobs.

Rach, do you happen to have a smaller rainbow flag we can put up after June is over? Sort of a full-time thing? I mean the big flag is great, but it covers the mirror, and how else am I going to tell when a vampire walks in?

i could probably find 1 or 2 (dozen) around the house, i mean, we even bought pride toys for the cats, so the chances of having lots of rainbow shit right now is pretty high smile

Last night was Rock for Pride. Great bands + drag queens = lotsa fun (plus, proceeds going to PFLAG).

now, onto the music vids for today.

I’d counter sue the country for putting him in a position to be tempted. It’s entrapment that he got access to anything he could fuck up.

if i'm ever in trouble, i want you to represent me.smile

I've stated that I'm a little racist in other forum threads. So, not hiding it.

I prefer my terminology.

i see. so, like ironic, you believe the world revolves around you. got it. can't pretend not to be incredibly disappointed in you, not that i imagine you care.

Quote by Ironic

I don't see hesitancy in my use of 'oriental'. The antonym of 'oriental' is 'occidental'.

It's surprising and disappointing when people go out of their way to insert negative attributes into words they don't use or that they're unfamiliar with. Dumbing down the language to a 5th-grade level degrades our ability to communicate ideas beyond the 5th-grade level.

I wouldn't feel insulted if I was grouped with other 'Occidentals'. Would you?

Why would anyone assume 'Orientals' conveys something sinister?

cool. so, which would you prefer to be called from now on? Whitey or cracker?

not sure how you equate "Asian" as a dumb downed word. and, to be honest, if the 'occidentals' i was being grouped with included people of your mindset, i would be incredibly insulted. (fyi, i'm a writer and i have a college degree, so i am actually familiar with the term. i just don't happen to use it when referring to people).

so, theoretically, if you were talking to someone from China, and you used that term, and they asked you please not to, would you insist that upon continuing to use it then, explaing to them that it wasn't offensive? curious now.

While thoughtful and intelligent people rail at both past and current inequities the reality is true change is primarily left to politicians at all levels of government not individuals or groups of citizens. No matter which side you choose the other side is wrong. The ability of people to debate thoughtfully seems to have become a lost art.

sometimes people are just wrong. it's not an opinion, it's a fact. i'm always willing to debate things that might be categorized as being in a grey area. certain, things, though, i will not. i will simply tell them that they are wrong... i'm a vegetarian. i won't tell people they are wrong for eating meat but i am happy to talk about it and share my POV. other things, are absolutes. i'm not willing to debate if it's right or wrong to discrimate against people because of their gender, sexuality, race, religion, etc. it's pretty black and white (no pun intended).

You think Trump would actually admit he's a loon? 🤣 Then again, his mouth is like a Halloween loot bag: You never know what might come out of it next.🙄🤣

no, but i'm sure that's what his lawyer would like to to with at this point lol

Quote by Ironic

No, that's not what I suggested.

You can change your opinion when given the right motivation.

why should i change my opinion simply because you don't like being called out on being disrepectful? it's simple. use this as a learning experience and from now on, don't use "oriental" anymore and go with "Asian". as i said before, it's all about respect. is it really such a hard concept to grasp or such a difficult thing to do?

Quote by Ironic

You speak for an entire race of people? How arrogant. And you say "it's all about you"?

It's time for you to rethink your opinions about many things.

ok, so if i object to someone using the N-word, it's just all about me? and yeah, i am totally rethinking my opinion about things. i used to think that you were a semi-decent, if misguided, dude. now? yeah, totally rethinking that.

Quote by IMPURETHOUGHTS

Not baseless. Did you forget how people, mostly black, toppled historic statues and black statues replaced them? If people start wanting to replace what happened yrs ago, then they'll have nothing to complain about but no, still continues.

here's the thing. those statues were lionizing traitors and slavers. they were removed for the same reason that there are not statues of Nazis in Germany. what happened years ago isn't being replaced. it still happened. it's still part of history. what is happening is that people are no longer okay with supporting it with monuments. and it wasn't just black people who toppled that shit. plenty of us white people were also involved. and god, really? they'll have nothing to complain about? do you think that slavery and discrimination and violence towards people of a specific race are simply things to complain about? pathetic. kind of showing your inner bigot/racist, aren't you.

Quote by IMPURETHOUGHTS

I use oriental too when speaking abous East Asia. Asia is too broad of a word so one must be specific.

ok, so why not actually be specific? Chinese. Japanese. Korean. Vietnamese. etc. Oriental is an outdated term and just tends to point out the ignorance of the person using it.

it'd go with the innocent on account of insanity plea.

Quote by Ironic

I used the link you provided. History does influence language, doesn't it?

here's the thing. you can use "oriental" if you want. i mean, it's all about you, not about what an entire race of people would prefer to be called. think of it this way - do you use ingenious people or indians? black people or negros? fags or lgbtqia? disabled or crippled? i think that's enough examples to get the point across. it's all about respect. you either care enough to be respectful or you don't. you can argue all you want, but wouldn't it be easier to just say "my bad. thanks for the heads up. from now on i will choose to be respectful of people's wishes."

Which likeness was made during Jesus's lifetime? biggrin

are you suggesting that the white version with the blue eyes might possibly be correct, or are you just being an ass? neither is the correct answer, obviously.

Quote by Ironic

And that has what bearing upon Cleopatra's heritage?

the topic was "who owns history". I think it's relevant.
