Unfortunately for Visual-kei bands they have to be squeaky clean, especially if they're signed to somewhere like the PS Company. No girlfriends/boyfriends, mention of having sex or even getting married. Anything they do has to remain completely hidden from the public.

I only wear eye makeup now. The rest is hidden nowadays when I'm out ? so it's pointless wasting the time. Unfortunately Japanese fans seem to put a lot of emphasis on appearance so they end up in a situation where they get stuck always wearing makeup or having to hide their face. I may have worked out why the new band is having difficulties. I've just spent ages trying to turn hiragana into romaji (without being able to copy and paste the original hiragana) to then translate the lyrics. It's highly imperfect but I have a general idea and it's morbid... haha. Right up my street though...
yeah, a lot of Japanese stuff is wonderful, but there's also somewhat of a crazy novelty look to it that makes people discount it as just that. not sure if you're familiar with a band called ex-girl from the late 90s and early 00s? trio of 3 women. brilliantly weird, but omg, brilliantly talented too. one of my fav bands. they wrote some songs about an anime frog among other things.

Eh, ironically as much as I've talked about Rush lately, that was the first time I got to see Primus live, they warmed up for Rush on a early 90's tour, Les is a madman, he can jam though. Larry Lalonde could crack out the jams on the guitar too, but Les was always the attraction.

Here's a little Primus for comparison. I was lucky enough to see them in concert in Denver in the 90s. With the guy I will (maybe) be arguing politics with this weekend. My gf at the time described Primus's music as sounding like "bloop, bloop, bloop."

The guitarist of the new visual-kei band attempted to translate the lyrics of their music into English for me... Holy fucking shit...It's causing them difficulties though because a direct translation is impossible with meaning changes. Please delete any unwanted friends you might have gained. There was a glitch in the exported file we were given, which included everyone who's sent you a request, regardless of whether you've accepted it or not. It's a bit of a job to now go through the lot and have them all removed automatically, and Gav is swamped with the site merger as it is.

I have a really good friend whose sister is selling her house, quitting her job, and moving the entire family to another state to avoid "the upcoming Civil War." Their family has been deeply sucked into the alternate news, Qanon-adjacent rabbit hole. It's really sad. It's like they joined a religious cult.
