Hope everyone has had a lovely Wednesday and is staying warm or cool depending on your current climate and location.

Katherine: Thanks! Michigan is really cold this time of year, and getting colder. It’s also rather gray. If you ever do get there, go in the summer when it is warmed and pretty OR in the fall when the leaves are doing their color change…beautiful!! So, part of me wonders why my crazy ass is heading north on Friday. But I will see all 3 of my kids, all 7 of my siblings, and celebrate the oldest at her baby shower and my brother with his birthday party. I will also get to meet my oldest sister’s grandkids for the first time. Did you catch all that? There will be a quiz later. LOL!

Vanessa: I can’t wait to make those adorable Melted Snowman Cookies (or biscuits or baked flour and sugar clumps). Whatever people call them, they are calling to my baker’s soul. I had a flashback when you said Fear Street and Christopher Pike. Such fond memories of my classroom library which I had well stocked with YA horror and other fiction. I gave all of that away when I moved and I am a little sad at times…but there are always kindle versions to be had! LMAO at WWPCD!

Daisy: Call me crazy, but it’s only 60 here and will be dipping into the 50s again tonight, so I will be indulging in some hot chocolate with mini marshmallows as well! I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service call on my dryer this am. Not so typical now that I am on southern/island time.

Tam: The former teacher in me says it’s doughnut, but the Homer Simpson fan in me says…DONUT!!

Tonya: My cat did not enjoy being used as a vodka wiping rag…just saying…LOL She is not speaking to me at the moment. I’m oddly ok with that. (JK if I tried that she would eat my arm off!).

Ping: I actually prefer thinking of PC as your photo of the Mexican baby Jesus than as the grumpy looking old guy who performed his concert from a chair recently. It hurt my heart a little to look at him, he is clearly in a lot of pain, but still not dead yet (the actual name of his tour), and with a strong voice that can still belt out his hits

Addagio: The crickets have had three encores over the course of the day. LOL They beat the hell out of the Beverly Hillbillies Theme Song which the DJ in my head was blaring upon my waking up today, so thanks for that.

Now its time for another glass of wine.

CHEERS all y'all!

Baby Jesus Phil Collins. Mexico. 22’ tall. W.T.F???

Rump, is that related to the Baby Maker Tom Collins drink you on occasion serve?

Well it's been a while since Phil Collins looked like that...

I have "noices" inside my head, rattling. A story in mind, with footsteps in rythmn of the crickets.

Well thanks for sharing...now I am hearing the same thing...lol!

Good afternoon. I've had such a busy morning. I got to go to my littley's school to observe her class. She was so very happy to see me. I'd love a cup of tea as I share with you my Vodka Christmas Cake recipe so here goes. Please try to save as I've typed this up many times already and it gets very tiresome. (Making mine now) 3 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, stick o' butter, Nuts, 1 bottle Vodka, 2 cups dried fruit. Sample a cup of Vodka to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the Vodka again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the Vodka is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the Vodka to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the Vodka. Now shit shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the Vodka and wipe the counter with the cat.

I hope I was able to make you smile. I have a great Wednesday.

Wipe the counter with the cat...lmao! That made my day. Thanks Tonya!

I needed a good laugh. It's been an interesting day. Been in contact with my aunt's lawyer and doctor, trying to make the best decision as to how to treat (or not treat) her skin cancer. She's nearly 96 years old and has no real memory to speak of. It's a tough call and left to me and my oldest sister. Sigh...so it may be early, but I will have a really big glass of wine!

Hi TG. Hello Curvy lady. Nice treats, Carl.

It's one of the great things about living in the town where I am now. The service people are just wonderful. I've never had anything to complain about. They show up on time. They even do little things for free. I could not get my hot water heater pilot light to come on the other day. I called Brian, my HVAC guy. He stopped by within 15 minutes, lit it for me and no charge whatsoever.

I could sure use a cuppa java if you please.

That is service!!

Well I, too, just hit the jackpot of service! The lead technician was fabulous and he replaced every moving part inside my dryer. Showed me how to eliminate some of the build up of sand that caused part of the problem and gave me an idea to prevent so much lint from sneaking through the trap. I got the mother of all service calls!! They even showed up when they said they would! Clearly this guy was not raised in the south...lol!

I'll have another cup of tea please!
Good morning! I’d love a cup of Earl Gray this morning please and thank you! The dryer repair man comes again today. That sounded dirty, lol. Last week he was here and said there needed to be two technicians to look at my dryer to decide what was wrong because it is stacked on top of my washer. (This still sounds dirty lol). So I waited for hours last week, only to be told I needed another service appointment. So he said the time a lot available was today (a full week later) between 12-4. Last night I got an automated call saying someone would be here between 8-10 am. I got a call this morning from the actual technician saying around 9. We will see. Lol. I have learned that things move at a whole different pace here in the south. So I’m guessing around 11. Lol! I’m just glad that I didn’t have a workout scheduled this am. And that is only because my water will be shut off between 9-2. Apparently in my building, they have to shut off every floor of that number. So all of the 7s on floors 1-5 will be shut off because one of those condos is having some repair work done. I keep reminding myself that the Gulf of Mexico is in my backyard. Then all of this nonsense seems insignificant! I’m learning. Lol.

Hope all is well in Lush Land. May all your service calls be answered promptly and may your holiday baking bring you joy!! (Carl I just gained 3 pounds looking at those yummy treats you brought it!)

Annie, my UK and Ireland friends find it cute that I call biscuits cookies. Must be an American term. Ah well, either way they are delicious!
I would like more people to read “Sated”
https://www.lushstories.com/stories/love-poems/sated.aspx
I wrote it in 2008 when I was relatively new to Lush. Then in 2013, it was awarded a Recommended Read. I was thrilled because it was always one of my favorites. But it only has 5 comments and 3 votes. So, sure, I’d love more people to read it.

A techgoddess who also bakes? Damn, where were you when I was young and single?

(Correct answer: As far away from me as possible.)

Apparently my little bro's genealogical work has turned up a distant connection to the late Rene Levesque, who found the Quebec separatist party and was premier of that province for a healthy chunk of my misspent youth, including their first independence referendum. So now I'm contemplating separating from the rest of Canada. Can one house with two people declare itself a country??

Afternoon vino, please. A chilled chardonnay will do nicely.

Apparently across the border. I lived in Detroit when I was young and single and I'm guessing we are close in age. LOL.

As for baking, you should taste my spice cake with buttercream frosting, homemade, not that canned shit. It makes my brownies seem like amateur work!

It's time for wine, I too shall have a chardonnay.

hi peeps
Quiet day so far . Woke up with a pounding headache which has finally settled down. Those cookies... The turkeys and the snowman are so ADORABLE.
I so need the recipe for the snowman cookies.
A large sweet tea pretty please.
Got the cookbook pulled out to see what goodies to make next
Happy Tuesday

The recipe actually calls for using Pillsbury sugar cookie dough. But you could probably use any sugar cookie recipe you wish to use. I told my daughter we could decide whether to cheat or make our own depending on how nice the weather is next week. lol. If it is really nice out, she might not want to spend that much time inside baking. Then again, she takes after me and LOVES to bake. Anyway, here's the recipe:

Melted Snowman Cookies

YOU WILL NEED…
Your favorite sugar cookie recipe or use a mix to make things quick and easy.
Marshmallows
Edible Marker
Cookie Icing

INGREDIENTS
1 16.5 ounce roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 egg yolk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
12 marshmallows
1 pouch each Betty Crocker™ Cookie Icing in white, red, and black
2 edible markers black and orange

INSTRUCTIONS
Place 1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury™ sugar cookie dough, 1 egg yolk, and 1/2 cup all-purpose flour in large bowl. Beat with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth.
Scoop 2-tablespoon-size (12) balls of cookie dough onto cookie sheets covered with silicone baking mats or cooking parchment paper. Refrigerate dough balls 15 minutes. Heat oven to 350°F.
Bake chilled cookies 12 to 14 minutes or until light brown.
Let cool completely before decorating.
Draw eyes and a mouth on the marshmallows using the black edible marker. Then draw the nose using the orange edible marker. Set aside.
On cooled cookies, draw a “snow" using the white cookie icing. TIP: Draw the outline of the puddle, then go back and fill in the shape.
While the icing is still wet, immediately place a marshmallow to one side of the cookie
Then make the arms and buttons with the black cookie icing and the scarf with the red cookie icing

Thanks for the nod!

Those cookies are adorable. I may have to add those to the ones I was planning to make with my youngest when she is down here for Thanksgiving next week. We already have plans to make these:

I am finding my concentration waning...more tea please! Thanks!!
Midway was the most recent movie I have seen. Great movie if you enjoy war movies or history. It is an excellent historical portrayal of the Battle of Midway and some of the events that led up to it. (The former history teacher in me was glued to the screen).

What I enjoyed even more was seeing Woody Harrelson as Chester Nimitz. After just recently seeing him as Tallahassee in Zombieland 2, it was delightful to see him in something completely different. He is one of my favorite actors as he seems to be able to play a variety of characters and make them each believable and entertaining.

It seems like there are more 4’s than usually, but no big deal. There are some that feel better qualified to grade stories and poems as 3’s and 4’s. One guy has given scores of ‘1’ to the only three chapters he has scored of the fifteen chapters of my series. I told him maybe he shouldn’t read the series if it bothers him that much. He responded by saying he felt writers should be grateful for his feedback.

I don’t block people and won’t block him. I’m curious what wisdom he’ll drop on us fortunate writers next.

Jeez, I hope he doesn't read any of my stuff! LOL!

I need another hit of caffeine please....strong, black tea!
Morning all y'all. I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday. I'm struggling this morning...some black tea straight up might help. Please and thank you! I pushed myself to go to the gym even though I go next to no sleep. I thought it might help. Not so sure...lol. Good news on your future daughter-in-law Tonya. Sayin' prayers that baby Jackson stays put until he's fully done!

My own future daughter-in-law has extended the temporary restraining order against her ex. I am grateful for that. I will get to see all 3 of my kids this weekend as I travel north for the oldest daughter's baby shower. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she sees that her dad, sister, and I all chipped in to buy her the crib she wants! She's moving into her new house in December, so I am trying to work with the company to wait until she moves to deliver and set up the crib in the new house. Fingers crossed I can get this all worked out.
Good morning everyone! Hugs for you Tonya! Hope everything calms down with your son's fiancee and that her contractions are stopped. I'm sure you being there was so appreciated! It doesn't matter how old our kids get, they still need their mom! Hope you get a nap in today, my friend!

I'm trying to get a bunch of things done before I head up to the great white north on Friday. I will get to see all my kids this weekend! The youngest is meeting us in Atlanta and we will fly up to Michigan. We have the oldest's baby shower, my brother's birthday, and a couple of dinners with friends. It will be a jam packed weekend. I just hope the winter coat I bought will be warm enough!

I'm cold just thinking about the winter weather up there! I will have some hot tea with lemon, please and thank you!

I hope everyone has a decent Monday! Time to get productive soon I suppose!
I am very loud during sex and especially when I am having an orgasm. Especially during vacation/hotel sex. Most lovers (male and female) that I have been with have also tended to be loud. I've never needed to fake an orgasm, I am lucky in that respect.

Well aren’t you in luck, Ping (or should I say, Cookie Monster?). I dropped by for a cup of hot tea to warm up with (do not judge...53 is cold when you live on the beach) and brought in a tray of assorted cookies, freshly baked by yours truly. There are Snicker Doodles, Chocolate Chip, and, Birthday Confetti cookies.

As for me, I’m going to have some ginger shortbread. Yum yum yum!

It’s been an interesting weekend thus far. Had a heart wrenching visit with my very elderly aunts yesterday, the oldest of which has a very aggressive form of the same skin cancer I had last year. At 96 and with dementia, it’s hard to know if pursuing treatment is kind or cruel. I am waiting to hear back from my cousin to see what the doctor’s thoughts are. Sigh. That is what sent me into a baking frenzy. Normally I would clean when I get in that mood, but I cleaned the house Thursday, so baking won out as the activity of choice!

So please, Cookie Ping Monster, enjoy to your heart’s content.

I have stories to read and I’m working on OW 18. Gonna be a jeans and sweater kinda day. That lying bastard weather man said 75 and a mostly sunny day. It amazes me how wrong they are and yet still have jobs.

Tonya, every time you talk about your littley, it makes me wish I could shrink my “baby” down to being little again. Then she does something so lovely and grown up that I have to smile. She’s so happy now that her man has moved in with her. She sent me a picture of their Christmas tree that they put up yesterday. Seeing a bunch of ornaments that used to be on the giant tree we had (at our old house) on her tree made me smile and tear up a little at the same time. Starting her own traditions, but including some of the old in with the new. Don’t blink! Your little sweetie will grow up in a flash and will be sending you pics of her Christmas tree some day. Sigh...if they could just stay little a while longer.

Ah well, Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

(Ms Curvy I am taking some of these delicious brownies to go!)

Good Morning All

Always a warm smile and hello to Ms Curvy

Thanks for the early early set up Bill with Bertha

Want to congratulate ALL the writers that entered the Halloween Competition.
And to the winners the best "core" of our friends here in Rump's.

With it being a TGIF I thought a wee bit of morning humour with coffee and Kevin Costner

I think we may need a dozen ping pong balls.....

Enjoy the Friday

*edit note* yes YES I wrote "ping balls"

That was hilarious! I can send you a dozen ping pong balls. I found them hidden in my kid's closet when I moved down here permanently last year. As if I didn't know he and his friends were playing beer pong when they would come down for spring break. He tried to say half of those were his sister's...lol!

Speaking of Office situations...yes this is a shameless plug...I finally finished and submitted The Office Whore - Part 17. https://www.lushstories.com/stories/office-sex/-the-office-whore-part-17-.aspx
Thanks, Carl, for your kind remarks!!

I will have some tea with lemon to start my day...been lazy this morning. Had some friends over last night. 12 women, 8 bottles of wine...great fun was had.

Oh, a quick update on my son's gf. X-ray showed no broken bones. Her ex is out of jail ($5K bond...not sure who bailed him out) and is not allowed any contact with her. If he wants to see his son, he needs to arrange transfer through a third party. Since he is an asshole and has no friends, this will be interesting. But at least the police took the situation quite seriously and she is safe.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and an even better weekend!

Good evening or morning, which ever part of the world your in. Its been a rough two weeks, Milik brought me home a nasty cold and it has decided it was gonna hang around for awhile. Friday will be two weeks. I guess I will have to make another Drs, visit. Next time he is quarantine to the guest bedroom and not allowed out. Mask will be an requirement lol.

Congrats to all who participated in the contest, I think they are all winners.

If anyone has any good remedies for a cold, let me know please.

Vanessa ,I’m glad your finally over you migraine, those things are awful to have.

Hope you manage to get some sleep Gilli, it’s miserable when you can’t.

Verbal you any closer to timing the knot?

Everyone else have a great week. Some hot tea please.

Ugh, no fun! I had that nasty cold while I was trying to pack up my daughter's apartment and help her move. It was a struggle. It's been 4 weeks now, and I still have a bit of a residual cough. I'm just glad I didn't pass it on to anyone as I slept on my daughter's couch for 3 nights. I drank a lot of tea and took steamy showers to help with the chest congestion. Hope you feel better soon!!
Quote by vanessa26

That's good to know actually because sometimes I have Marilyn Monroe fantasies ...

I think my migraine is finally gone, I had almost 4 days of it, I thought I was going to go completely insane.
Maybe now I can get back to writing ( I hope )

I hope everyone is doing good

Chamomile tea please

Migraines suck! I used to get really bad ones that would land me in the hospital. I am glad you are feeling better!!

T-God, that is horrible. Sigh. It scares me when I hear about violence like that. I hope a solution for their safety materializes fast.

*

Sorry to not represent. But I think seven out of ten regulars, including Green Man making the top ten twice, did Rump’s proud. As I suggested a couple weeks ago, just to make the top ten was a special accomplishment this comp. So many excellent stories. Tonya and I are going to trade shots until I pass out. I don’t think I can drink a navy gal under the table.

*

It’s groovy Monday on a Thursday for us. Kids had first three days off for extended long weekend. They are grumpy AF that they have to go to school for only two days. Why not take those days off too?

I agree. Idiot school board. Long story. It can be done. They choose not to. Union politics. Next year we may do it anyway.

Yes, this is not the first time she has had to call the police on him, but hopefully it will be the last. My son has been amazingly patient and supportive. He loves this woman and her son very much!

well most jobs you get paid for, this would be completely volunteer work, as you wont be getting any money, just the general satisfaction of helping me out.

Hi everyone, hope all is well.

Tea me.

So you'd be my new charity? That could work...lol

I'd love another cup of tea!
Congratulations to all the winners and runners up. And, of course, to everyone who submitted a story. There were so many extremely well-written stories that I am honored to be in the top ten, especially since I almost didn't submit my story into the contest. LOL
