They walk down the pier slowly, holding hands,
Her head resting on his shoulder.
They have done this before, but,
Each time it becomes harder, and the time together seems to pass so much faster.
They stop at the foot of the gangway.
The tears in her eyes, her perfume, the feel of her body held close.
They both have his love,
One, his wife, loving and warm.
One, his mistress, heartless, and cold.
They both have him, his wife has his heart, his mistress has his mind.
They both watch him as he walks up the gangway.
The mistress has him now.
