She sits on the grass 

watching the sun sink on the horizon 

Replaying the conversation over in her mind 

realizing just how quickly the conversation spiraled out of control 

it was her fault for saying something stupid 

No one to blame but herself 

she shouldn't have spoken without thinking about the consequences 

now she doesn't know what to do to make it right

or even if that will be a possibility. 

If only she had stopped

taken a moment to think  

and hadn't let her insecurities or fears control her 

She thought she was getting better 

but now she isn't so sure

wiping away the tear now rolling down her face

She really is her own worse enemy 

because she pushes people away 

when she really wants to hold them close
