Mumbles, I need to drag some of you to Sunday School. Here's a brief rundown; allow the interpretation, please.
1. No other God.
2. No taking the Lord's name in vain.
3. Remember Sunday.
4. Honor Mom and Dad.
5. No murder.
6. No adultery.
7. No stealing.
8. No bearing false witness.
9. Don't covet what a neighbor has.
10. Don't covet a neighbor's wife.

Man oh man... sounds like God is pretty uptight about some things there. Wonder why? Couldn't be that His 'people' wrote in their deepest fears and kind of...made it work?

I vew the ten commandments as God proving a message to us. I think he is showing that we cant follow 10 simple rules. Which shows how are we gonna follow all the rules.

Ultimately...I think, he is trying to show us that we need him, and that we cant do it on our own.

I don't believe in god, so I would break any or all and not feel like I was going anywhere. Like hell or whatever.

Side note on this....
Did you know that there is not one mention of lesbians in the bible? Why is that? It couldn't be because God didn't think of it. He is perfect. Maybe it is because the Bible was written by a bunch of men that in their wildest dreams could not concieve of such a thing. They had their fear of gay men so they made sure that was in there, but they forgot about us dykes.
So I guess I get off easy on that one. No sin in women loving women.

The men who wrote the bible didn't put anything about lesbians in there because let's face it....guys LIKE watching women with other women. So they sure as hell weren't going to put anything in the good book that would make that one a sin.... L16

In Romans 1:26-27 Lesbians are mentioned: “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones

There were only 9 commandments carried over into the NT. The one left out was Keeping Holy the Sabbath. Only the Jews are bound by this one. The Sabbath command was part of God's covenant with Israel, it was not carried into His covenant with the church. It has been superseded by The New Covenant (Christ) replaced the Mosaic Covenant.

With Christ there is no more need to observe the sabbath ergo, the church is no longer under the Sabbath command.

The OT teaching that the Sabbath was to be kept Holy served as a sign to test Israel's obedience to the Mosaic Covenant

There is a distinct absence of any positive command in the New Covenant to observe the Sabbath.

I work almost every Sunday. Somehow I figure if it is considered wrong to care for others just because its sunday, I dont need to be judged by that god
