I ask this because a few nights ago hubby and I were watching Glory and the final battle scenes, my husband really teared up. As did I.

i'm often moved emotionally by movies...rarely do i try to hide it. the one time that i can think that i did try, was when i was on one of my first dates with a girl i loved very much. we went to see a movie called "the tourist" with johnny depp and angelina jolie...i remember very little about it, other than that i don't think there were any particularly emotional moments. but she had her head on my shoulder and i'd be lying if i said there wasn't a lump in my throat. i didn't let on though, because i didn't want her to be freaked out by how much i already liked her.

it's funny, it's now over 4 years later and my heart still races thinking of her. this probably wan't the kind of response you were looking for.

I'm rarely surprised by movies, and usually go as more of a student of the film - so often I'm not entirely emotionally committed to the picture. HOWEVER, Toy Story III pulled me in, surprised me, and ... when he gives the toys away and goes to ... grow up ...
THERE WAS JUST A LOT OF DUST IN THE THEATRE. That's all.

Wow, that takes me back.
I would say that the film that got to me most was One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. That was a mixture of sadness and anger.

I haven't seen One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest since I was a teenager. I'll have to watch it again. It's interesting how watching a movie again after three or four decades can sometimes provoke the same emotional or intellectual experience. And then again sometimes you wonder why you liked it in the first place.

I predict I will cry every time Old Yeller dies.

"The Deer Hunter." It ripped me up. So much so that I've seen it exactly once and don't plan to see it again.

Marley and me,

I am a dog lover to say the least and so is she. I thought that this was going to be a cute movie about a family and their dog. Well hell no it wasn't! I was crying like a buffoon as the ending hit and wiping tears from my face.

Word of advice, don't watch this for the first time on a plane........

Sons of Anarchy had a bizarrely sad moment.

It's not the best of quality TV but great fun to watch, which is why I was surprised it got to me.

Yup. Old Yeller. But also the ending of Saving Private Ryan. And just recently the titles showing Chris's funeral at end of American Sniper. What a tragedy.

Dumbo. Just.. Dumbo. My friend came round with her kids and they watched it on my TV. When they left the scene with the cage and the mum elephant was playing and I just melted into a pool of tears- although I tried to hide it considering it is such a kids movie!

Practical Magic. It wasn't at the very end, but close. Sandra Bullock and Aidan Quinn are outside the house. While he's walking away, he says, "I wished for you, too." And Sandra Bullock just starts crying. I know it isn't that dramatic because they do end up together, but that scene just brought tears to my eyes.

Now who in their right mind would go see that ?!? ...

American Sniper got me on different levels throughout the movie, but I didn't know the story going in and wasn't ready for that ending.

The first time I saw Lone Survivor it had me choked up very much... I couldn't find the picture of the helicopter ride at the end of the movie but I still get chills when I watch it and listen to the song....

Back in my security guard days, I was working at an advance screening of "The Notebook". We had a night-vision monocular to scan the audience for cameras. At the big, dramatic final scene, I saw a lot of guys who got dragged to a chick-flick trying to wipe away a tear discreetly.

I have to agree Lone Survivor was a tear jerk-er for me too...but then I have sons that are serving.. and one does a lot of the stuff like in the movie. So it was hard to watch...I will definitely not watch it again
