Username input box - story submissions

I don't remember seeing this when I last submitted a story (in October, I think) but I may have missed something. At the bottom of the submission form, below "tags" and "series," there is a box for "username." What I put in there is not saved each time I do a round of editing. Am I doing something wrong?

I can't answer your question but I have just looked at a story of mine that is in draft and I see the box but do not recall seeing it before. It could be that it has always been there and I had not noticed but I have certainly never entered anything there. As it is below a box saying 'series' maybe it is something to do with that.

I think it's meant to be for adding the usernames of calloborators. Start typing and pick from the shortlist.

But if that is its purpose, it's not the world's best named input field.

Thank you, I did see the list and I thought for a moment that my username would come up. But anyway, I don't have any collaborators.

Yes, it can be difficult to keep track of these gradual changes. This new story is not part of a series (it's still in drafts), and since I can't enter anything in there, I'm guessing for the moment that I don't need it.

This is correct. It's where you add the name of the collaborator to have the story added in their profile, too.
