Sully
Very good movie. Tom Hanks did great in it.
Just like the insurance companies blame a hero for an act of god so the don't have to pay.
Saw -- Patriots Day
Want to see -- Lion
Saw recently:
Hidden Figures (loved it)
The Girl on the Train (the book is better than the movie, but the movie is good)
Inferno (LOML wanted to see this)
Sully
Pale Flower
Still waiting to see Manchester by the Sea (LOML doesn't want to see it)
Saw -- Collide
Still, want to see -- Lion
I most recently watched The Light Between Two Oceans. A bit slow and the book's apparently better, not that I'll bother. Wife loved it though.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill. "insensitive prick!" – Danielle Algo
I just saw 13th by Ava DuVernay. Impressive and shocking documentary. The part where Trump's campaign rhetoric was put over footage from the civil rights era I found particularly chilling. As were many of the statistics.
=== Not ALL LIVES MATTER until BLACK LIVES MATTER ===
I really want to see Hidden Figures.
Lion too. I'm just finishing up the book now.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill. John Wick - Chapter 2
Great stuff if you enjoy Keanu Reeves running around shooting just about everyone he meets.
Good action film - not sure it's much of a date movie but it would definitely get your adrenaline pumping.
Looking forward to Logan next month.
I want to see Fences, Hidden Figures and Lion.
I want to see John Wick 2 next. I'll see it soon.
Just watched two - Arrival & Hacksaw Ridge.
Arrival was pretty good and did not see the 'relationship'. I love when that happens.
I've watched many, MANY of this genre, and am tired of the same old, back story, boot camp struggles, dude
bonding, then off to war recipes. However, the Hacksaw Ridge story is true, as much as we believe it to be, and
that damn Garfield kid is AMAZING. I was moved more by the love story than what his character did.
Wouldn't you rather have a nice cup of tea?
Watched The Godfather last night.
Don't believe everything that you read.
John Wick 2, it was good but first one is better of course. next will be Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2
After seeing the last trailer, I'm rather pumped for the new King Kong (official title: Kong : Skull Island). The big ape is one of my favorite movie monsters and the look of this one is great per the trailers. The cast is pretty good, too, featuring Sam Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, John Goodman, and Brie Larson. However, I'm not unambiguous about my enthusiasm. Kong has been screwed up as often as he's been done successfully.
Watched The Martian, with Matt Damon. A good flick with stunning special effects, especially the Martian landscape.
Saw recently:
Arrival (very good)
Allied (I liked it and Marion Cotillard was excellent)
Chappie
Just watched Concussion with Will Smith and a huge name cast
I love underdog movies and this one explores absolute power being corrupted, absolutely.
My favorite scene is the opening court room scene. "Do you have a medical degree... ?"
His humble response screams, "Fuck you, you racist pricks!" I loved it.
For me, Will almost pulled off a Muhammad Ali-type performance, but a bit of Will kept
shining through where in MA, I though he was that man. Really good movie, especially
since this damn CTE is relevant, timely, and true.
Hidden Figures, and it was a wonderful film!
