I think that goes for morons also...

I understand all of this and have 2 things to say..
1. Moderators need consistency. My current avatar was taken down and said to be *sexually explicit* but another mod reversed the decision (rightly so) but I had to email my complaint. Had I just accepted the decision I would have an avatar with bunnies and kittens and furry little things running over rainbows. You get my drift? Boobs are not sexually explicit.
2. There are ALOT of pics on here that very obviously don't belong to the person that controls the profile. I work in an adult shop, I buy, sell and watch porn and porn related products for a living. I can't be the only one who has spotted many a porn star in not only the avatars but the gallery images. People are purposely deceiving others into thinking it is them in the pics.
In the avatars I have no problems with who you post pics of, but to continue and add more pics to your gallery and accept comments from people who clearly think its you in the pics, well thats just bullshit. In my opinion.
Deceiving people by adding images that are not your own should be taken as seriously as posting pics with innapropriate content.
And that is my 2c worth and its free! Bargain eh?

Indeed there are many fake pics on lush members' profiles but the core business of this website is erotic stories. I've been on several other adult websites which main focus was amateur pics/vids and they all had a verification process where members could post pics of themselves holding a selfmade sign with the website's name on it to become a verified member. That worked fairly well and gave some extra confidence that the member was really posting her/his own pics/vids.
Since some lush members doubted that hornybunny74 and I would meet IRL we've posted such pics in both our image galleries. Nicola even tried to tempt other members to post similar lush promoting pics but nobody really answered the call.
Besides all that, it can be quite amusing to see the fake pics and the horny comments by sad guys who still take everything at face value.

Its all well and good to say because we are here for erotic stories we should post whatever pics we want.. but what about the people whose pics are used falsy? Are they not entitled to be pissed off or compensated if they are misrepresented?
Its fair to say to write a story with specific content you have to be aroused by it yes? I write about reluctance and anal sex because I love both. So my images are linked to my stories/fantasies etc etc
Say someone stole my pics and created their own profile on a website devoted 100% to sex with donkeys (just an example)
Those are my pictures that have been linked, in the online world, to something I do not participate in.
There are so many profiles on here of 18-21 yr old bi sexual females whose pics come from websites like * My naked ex* and so on. Their pictures (lets not forget, even if they are naked with a beer bottle up their vag) are theirs, they own them and they are real people. They may suffer real consequences if someone comes across their pics and reads stories about them fucking their own brothers.
I guess I expected it not to be so blatant. I don't know. ?
It's already in the language here that each of us are responsible for our own content. If somebody steals images, whether representing them as themselves or not, they are responsible and must be aware of the consequences. If I find out my pics got stolen and are on another site (or this one, for that matter), my choices are to demand that the site remove the images, then to lawyer up if it doesn't happen.

Neither this site nor its volunteer moderators, verifiers, and mediators should be expected to be internet detectives, striving for justice and authenticity on every photo. Besides, where's the line between posting pics one finds sexy, or representative of their vibe or identity in some way, and pretending to be 'that person' in the pic? It's not the sort of thing that's worth parsing through if you're trying to run a site with a lot of traffic. It falls under personal responsibility of the users.

If it's personally offensive to you, develop a good sense for fakes- Painter (the guy that replied to you above) is famous for it- and shun accordingly. Some of us are entertained by how clumsily some attempt to 'become' the people in their posted pics. Is it fair to the person whose images were stolen? Of course not, and it's unfortunate, but until that person discovers it and takes the thief to task, file it under "things that are wrong and should not happen, but inevitably do".

What she said.

Though I would also add that if you are concerned about protecting your own pics then you can protect them so that only your friends can see them. Unless this is just an attempt to draw attention to you and your profile. In which case, you got me.
Whenever you post naked pics of yourself on the internet (or arguably even allow someone to take them of you), you run the risk of them being stolen and distributed on other sites. You may choose to watermark pics, alter or crop them, or black out your face to make them undesirable to people who would steal them. But it's just part of what "might" happen, and people should be aware of the risks involved.

For that reason, if you have explicit pics, keeping them set to "private" on this site is probably a good idea for most women.

As for the fake pics... I think it's up to the individual user to use their own common sense (or run images through www.tineye.com) to figure out how much they want to trust how real they may or may not be. I think some guys want to buy into the fantasy that they are real in the same way that they would call a 976 number and want to believe that they are having phone sex with a hot, horny model.

Thank you both for clearing this up for me. I was reading through this thread and thinking about my profile page and my avatar pictures..
Not even on one photo there is me and I never thought that I would be called (you didn't call me personaly, but I found myself in those words..) fake one. I have never used my photos because I sencerely thought that profesional photography is more appealing to the eye of a viewer, even to mine, than it is amateur one. Not even once did crossed my mind that some people might think that I am all of those women..
You guys really got me thinking, this is 21.century, I certanly have nothing to hide, I did nothing here on this site or somewhere else, that would/could affect my resume in any way. This site is not freak show, I mostly have positive experiance, people here are more than ok, yes it is adoult sex site, but please, was this my ? Was I hiding? Shame on me . Thank you both!
So, I have decided, I am going to take my phone out and make the best shoot that I can, than I will change my bio and set up my profile page, then I will wish Happy New Year to Lush! And reply to massages, and than I will maybe post one of my poems...hey, girl needs to know her priorities
Have great one!
Thank you Nicola for keeping this site as it is, so I have no reason to be ashamed of
I wear wonder sauna hot pants, but am restricted from using aircraft as I have inflated them with hellium......despite this inconvience I have read of instances of jock itch developing in male users. User should be over the age of 18 and engaging a regular and rigorous hygene program if using them regularly. Skateboarding in them, unless you are experienced is not recommended.
About the golf course photo. As long as the balls are in play it must be ok. What about the balls falling into the little hole around the green patch? Although maybe playing with the balls while it is in the hole is wrong. I am so confused.cfdw9mFEuaMrYVJO javascript:insertsmiley('%20','/forum/images/emoticons/freak.gif')

You may not know it, but my avatar is very sexually explicit, I'm writing my erotica.

I have a problem with the copyright issue as it is represented here. Being an owner of a picture is fine but that does not make the picture copyrighted. In order for said picture to be copyrighted by said owner that owner must file for the copyright and have it accepted. Additionally, you may want to review the free use portion of US Copyright law as it does come into play. Just a thought...
How about people just be honest and not claim to be who they aren't.. nope? Oh well Worth a shot
This is an adult site yet how many people use porn stars as their would be identity. Take this a bit further and understand that their relative images are very likely copyrighted and therefore protected. Earlier someone had said the site can't be responsible. I disagree because it is so obvious who the picture is and so likely that actor or actress hasn't the time to be here those pictures/person should be validated to protect the site from liability issues in Copyright Law. Simply claiming ignorance of the law does not hold. Apparently we aren't all adult and so many do not want to be themselves.

This is all good advice however, Lush has a copy block in place which prevents pictures from being stolen in the traditional manner. Now, if you attach a picture to an internal message it goes back to the normal view in that it can be stolen. I enjoy this portion of the site's features but it's back to buyer be ware.
Note to all, there is nothing common about sense and in the case of the internet you can throw reasonable person out the window too.

If you read the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, it covers copyright issues like this. It is up to the person who owns the copyright to pursue legal action, if they desire. Many images are part of the Creative Commons though and aren't copyright protected.

This is the same as when someone steals your story and posts it somewhere else. You file a complaint with Google or the website hosting it - they remove the story. That's the end of it.

That's how it works throughout the internet - on blogs, tumblr, hosted sites, twitter, flickr, , wherever... None of these entities are able to review every pic or story they receive and look for copyright or ownership ahead of time. If the owner is upset at their photos or stories being posted, and they have copyright protection, then they can seek to remove the material and/or press charges although I don't know how successful the latter is in this day and age.

Also re the copy-block issue. People need to be aware of if you post naked/private pics of yourself *anywhere* online, they can be stolen. There are blocks in place on many sites but all you need to know how to do is take a cropped screen shot and presto - the jpeg is on your desktop. People need to exercise reasonable caution and accept some risk when they put things online. Twitpic and Facebook (among others) own the photos you post there and they can be used and redistributed as they see fit. Unfortunately it's just one of the pitfalls of the internet, but most sites are very diligent about removing offending material if a copyright complaint is issued.

Copyright does not need to be applied or accepted - that's how patent law works and it's entirely different to copyright law.

If by "free use" you mean "fair use" it's a very grey area and is meant for review and comment purposes; many jurisdictions - such as the UK - don't recognise "fair use" at all.

The copy block just stops right-clicking - the image is downloaded to your cache as usual

Hello.

May we get some clarification on this issue? Are Avatar penis/vagina pics okay? I understand that "sexually explicit" pics are not okay, but that could still be open to some interpretation on the penis/vagina issue.

This link does not seem to go to the answer for this question.

Thanks everyone!

I will do my best to address this. Firstly I would say an image of a penis or vagina is 'sexually explicit'. We try to be sensible in this matter and the key word, contained in the warning box in 'Change Avatar', is Explicit. The question we ask ourselves when looking at such images is 'Is it in your face'... a close-up, stark, hardcore. If it is then its not acceptable.

If however, looking at an avatar of a nude male, you have to get closer to the screen or put your glasses on to determine that the object dangling between his legs is in fact his penis then I seriously doubt any moderator is going to remove that.

You have, depending on membership level, a profile wall, an image gallery and you can create photo albums. They are the more sensible places to post images of genitals.
To mods: Does sensual and consensual blood play and images containing come under the bracket of "sadistic" and therefore not allowed as avatars or uploads on my own profile?

I am reigniting an interest in it and don't want to cause upset or have to be warned for conduct.
