Slowly goes the snail

Pardon this blatant request.

After seven years and 186 stories, I have one creeping up on 10,000 reads. There is no badge of honor for such a minor milestone here, but still, I'd like to see it happen for myself. I've nothing else even close.

Take a peek when time allows. Honestly, I think it's pretty good, but that judgement is always up to the readers.

I did think I might entice a few more reads, but such is life. You get what you deserve.

There seems to be an inverse correlation between popularity and what might be termed quality. Competition winnng stories don’t often warrant more than 1000 views and there are not many recommended reads and editors picks amongst the highest viewed and scored stories.

Just an observation

Unfortunately, this is the case for most entertainment mediums. The amount of Oscar nominated movies that don't sniff the numbers of big summer blockbusters comes to mind.

Also, certain categories here completely smash the others. The more ones gain the most attention and that's just plain facts.

As an example, my first 11 to 12 months here, I had 20-something followers. After posting an Anal story and then my fourteen part series, my follower count jumped to 70 or 80 something.
