Yeah, it was a lot. 60+ if I'm not mistaken? I didnt bother counting either. Just let my eyes bug out of my head as I went down the list. I think someone said it was close to 60? Meh. I could be totally off base. I'm too lazy to count. Its monday and my brain isnt in gear yet.

It takes about one minute to count and see that there were 88 entries. 😉 You're welcome.

In my defence, I'm too lazy to count😉. But wow, that is a lot of entries. No wonder they needed additional time

we actually drop all the names in a bowl and pick out 10. last 3 get first, second, and third place.

That explains how I got in the top ten once. I'd been wondering.

I find it a little hard to believe its that random. I thought there was some review and consideration for content and reader response incorporated into that decision. But I guess this is a... "fair" way to do it? Complete luck of the draw seems a little wild to me. Maybe i'm just old fashioned and silly.

Do keep up for goodness sake. The judging process was changed in 2024:

Entry from simplyjohn - 1st place (no entry then story moderator to knock up any old pile of shit up and approve)

Entry from sprite - bin

The rest - entries 2 - 10, by date, get 2nd/3rd place and 4 - 10 a honorary mention.
