Yes, Rach, you won.

Now you can go back to sleep.

Just remember, there's a hypothesis that our very existence is all a simulation in some alien quantum computer. So all the sex you've ever had has been a simulation (assuming that hypothesis is correct). 😲😋🤣

Good luck to those entering. I am probably not unless something hits me.

What sex?

Thank god!

Your sex is just the figment of someone else's imagination. It's a cruel joke on humanity. Reality is simply a phantom without substance.

Whoa, getting a bit philosophical for a smut site, aren't you? 😁

Hmm, I'm a bit conflicted about this one. 'Simulation' has been a sci-fi staple since the 1950s. So staple in fact that it's in danger of falling into cliche, as anyone who's familiar with Star Trek's holodeck concept will attest. I certainly don't want somebody to read my entry and think, "So, the whole thing was just a simulation... duh." My point is, this is possibly one of the most challenging competitions we've ever had, in my experience at lest.

Absolutely. I'm kinda accepting the fact that the simulation thing has been around forever (I know it's not AI, but I keep thinking of Colossus: the Forbin Project). I'm not chasing originality this time. I'm just trying to tell one story, and tell it well (not that I've started yet). It's gonna be a very fun comp, I'm guessing.

Tintinnabulation - first place (Free Spirit)
Comet Q - second place (Quick and Risqué Sex)
Amnesia - third place (Le Noir Erotique)

That’s the thing. If you’re close to something that’s been done before, just make sure you do it better than everyone else. smile

Or bad enough to make it comical. :)

Hmmm if “many entertain the theory that we exist in a computer-generated simulation” then isn’t A I writing all the stories anyway?? .. What I came here to ask was “ does it have to be a computer simulation?”

My series about Chloe the dominating stepdaughter who controls her submissive stepmother has finished. It all started with Her Panties but does it end Happily Ever After?

Can't fault your logic. The site will be shut down by morning for breaking its own rules. That said...

What I came here to ask was “ does it have to be a computer simulation?”

... in the likely event the site remains functional, no. Interpret "simulation" however you want. Wow the judges with creativity.

From the blurb:

This competition should feature your characters in some sort of simulation, virtual or augmented reality.

Doesn't necessarily specify it's computer generated. So if you can come up with some other plot angle, go for it. AR, for example, doesn't have to be simulated. It's just digital info overlaid on what we see and touch.

I take this to mean a good acid trip, or possibly even a dream, could comply with the rules.

Interesting point. Sex in a shared dream world interests me more than the computer stuff. Think Inception with an X rating.

If your characters are in an alternative mental state, perhaps brought on by taking a drug that alters their reality, then sure, it'll probably fit the theme. Dunno. Depends.

Maybe they discover on the trip that the world we live in (or the virtual one they visit) isn't real and is projected onto the back of a ham sandwich.

I have eaten that sandwich more than once and can affirm the truth of it.

That Wordsmith guy. What a ... ham.😎🤪

As long as you do it wrong, so it works right.

I have it, 4,920 words. That philosophy book I had... delivered, I think. I've read 164 pages of weird research. I think I understood about ten per cent of it. Martin gave up trying to read it, and just looked at me with that 'look'. He said we needed to get another cat to distract me from doing "crazy shit" like this.

So, I am not writing about anything weird, but the opposite, and my problem is not making it look too mundane.

We write to taste life twice: in the moment and in retrospection - Anais Nin.

Would you like to read how I've tasted life? These are my stories.

Postcards - Disillusioned with my life, I left Paris and travelled the South of France for a year. A true story.

These Walls Talk - A young woman with intense sexual fantasies finds herself lodging in a house with an over-sexed couple.

Of Flames and Light - An artist resists the attentions of an enigmatic man who only wants to watch her sketch.

I have an idea so considering
