I shall throw something together with the best that my limitations allow. I believe that's in the spirit of things, as opposed, perhaps, to other ways this environment has been hijacked. Time and place for it? Not for me to say.

I admit it, I wasn't going to enter this competition with poetry not being my thing. 🙄

However, after reading a few of Elliot's poems and seeing that he had amassed nearly 500 stories, I felt compelled to give it a go... So here is my competition entry: Sleep

I would have called it a celebration rather than a competition if it had been up to me, but it wasn't and isn't. It's just a word, and an opinion about what it signifies, but there you have it,

Glad to have been able to put my modest effort out there, Sometimes it isn't the expertise with which you do something that matters, it is the feeling you did it for the right reasons that counts.

Got mine in: The Test. Fair warning: solidly in the Erotic Poems category! Love is an important part of it, though.

I actually have no clue as to the rules of poetry or its fucking punctuation, but maybe there are no rules. I just know I’ve read some entries that affected me in a very nice way!

I wish someone had told me fucking has its own grammar rules. Never too late to learn though and I'll do some research. (on the punctuation, not the fucking, sadly.) 🤣

Been a very busy few weeks at home - didn't think I was going to be able to submit an entry. But I somehow got there 🙄 (with some encouragement from a friend - thank you, Kimmi 😊). I never claim to be a poet, but I wanted to give it a go in honour of Elliot's passing. So here it is: Still Waters Beckon.

I think many have stepped up, acknowledging the debt owed to his spirit and artistry. It's a comp that sits a step above the usual slip and slide.

...er, I know the competition is over and everything, and I'm quite happy with my RR but didn't we also receive coins in the past for making it into the top ten? Is this still a thing? Thank you.

That was a one- or two-off event recently because a kind benefactor sponsored the top 10.
